Such a belter! Now she's learning how to belt properly! She certainly had to start exploring her head voice and learn how to blend her chest a little bit better and it's done nothing but suit her well. I was getting worried about her for a while as her technique was not what it should be, but now after so many years with incredible resources, dedication and likely trial-and-error, she sounds better than ever :) Great video

It’s a pure tone. She goes up there no falsetto no screaming she’s on top of the notes. Who else could do that? Whitney. Aretha. That’s all I can think of.
Whitney often strained in upper belts and didn't go very high, actually. Aretha and Patti are the queens of the very high upper belts. Sohyang as well. Mariah could consistently support up to G5 live and had a very high quality to her upper belts.

What I love about Kelly Clarkson is that she is not afraid of singing pure live. This is the real definition of talent and what it takes to be a singer. I love her from American Idol til present.

I feel like she and pink are the underrated singers of the 2000s. kelly can sing anyone under the table and do so many different genres it's unbelievable. she's preserved her voice well and gotten even better with her technique. she deserves to be recognized with some of the greatest vocalists of all time like aretha, wytnie, celine, etc.

@@dylann.6251 I agree with you- Mariah's range is legend, but she cheats by constantly autotuning and lip synching on stage. If she were to stop all of that, she wouldn't sound nearly as good. And not because she's a bad singer, but just because nobody's that flawless that easily. Kelly is 100% live all the time, and even she has her bad moments. Nobody's perfect, flaws are a part of being human. But that's a whole other story. I just respect Kelly for being completely real, giving us the good and the bad, without faking anything. In that way, she is above a lot of other people in my personal opinion. Not to mention her killer voice.

The crazy thing is she just continues to get better. There isn't the genre that she can't hit perfectly there isn't the song that she can't sing perfectly at least so far she's super seeds being part of any kind of genre she is her own entity. She's also probably the greatest voice of our generation.

I took my granddaughter to see her Christmas show several years ago and I'd love it if I could afford to see her again . I've heard and seen tons of music of nearly all genres in my 70 years and count her in my top 20 voices of all time.

I'm so glad she found someone who could teach her control and train her how to breathe and all the rest that goes with preserving your voice. Imagine all the freaking incredible music we would've missed out on if she'd burned herself out after American Idol. I keep thinking back to that first season - no one knowing what a crazy hit they were going to have on their hands, the overworked schedule those kids had to keep, the insane catalog of songs she chose.... by the end of the season, I could see how fried she was. And yet.... she's had such an amazing career and has miles to go. We're so lucky.

Dude I've loved and been a huge fan Kelly since seeing her on American idol. She has just an amazing voice and she has remained humble and pretty much the same as she's been since she started her career which is a rare thing in the industry.
I watched this girl sing her own harmonies and backup to "Since U Been Gone" during the Christmas special with Fantasia Barrino and Ruben Studdard. Literally covering for every vocal part from the studio recording, LIVE. She will one day be talked about as one of the greatest vocal legends who ever lived. Her story and beginnings are awesome. She is the only artist whose CD's I consistently buy at release to this day. Including her new album, "Chemistry".

My career didn’t pay as well as yours so I also had to work as a bartender on Friday and Saturday. I done hair 6 Days a week and battened on Friday and Saturday night. Sunday was mine and the girls day. E always made the best of it
