  • This one is certainly interesting. Might not be the best Dimension Shifter deck out there, but certainly interesting.
Also I was going to apologize for having to use my phone audio since the microphone failed to record... except I almost think my phone audio is better?

    GOOFS:
    1. (Minor) Make sure you're only summoning Guoglim or Askaan if you're using a Bystial as material--White Aura Whale requires a Water non-Tuner.

Hello, that's really a good deck profile ! I'm testing right know without shifter in main because you need some fish in Gy for recursion, but in this format, plus if you're going second, he's really a good choice
Otherwise, there's one point i would like to mention :
    - White aura whale need a water non-tuner, so you can't white aura whale with bystial

      Great catch on that!
I do agree that having the GY open for Askaan, Snopios, White Aura Whale recursion is important, but I find Shifter to just be way too important. Yeah it isn't a complete slam dunk against Ishizu Tear, but it hamstrings them a LOT and you can still play through it.

    LOCALS REPORT 11/17:
    Round 1 - Ishizu Tear
Oh would you look at that. The menace. Game 1 we go first and open Shifter, Dweller for the lulz, and a synchro line to Deep Beyond. Guess what? He loses!
Game 2 we go second. We open Shifter. He bricks. We win. Would you look at that.
    Round 2 - Ishizu Tear.
This was against Jose again, and--surprise!--we lose to him. Game 1 we go first and open shifter + synchro combo, but there's no good time to Shifter and try to bait out Herald so we have to try and go for it and he's got Herald + Kelbek for it. Kelbek chains him all the way to Dragostapelia, and the predator counter on our stuff means no Synchroing ever. We lose on the crack back.
Game 2 We side in 6 cards, bringing us to 16 cards in deck against Tear... and we open 4 tuners and a Leaffish. A herald on Leaffish ends our plays and our match. Ah well. Maybe one day we'll beat Jose. Maybe.
Round 3 - Gladiator Beast (JUST KIDDING, IT WAS ISHIZU TEAR AGAIN)
Oh look. A tear match. Hooray. Game 1 we go first and open Dweller, Shifter, and Synchro combos, for which he has no answer and after we Triple Tactic the Instant Fusion out of his hand, he REALLY has no answer. Game 1 to us.
Game 2 was crazy. He bricks on plays turn 1 but we have a lot of going second cards, so we can't set up a ton of meaningful Synchro plays. It all comes down to me activating a set Evenly Matched on my own battle step after running a guy into his Beatrice. He has to choose between banishing Garura or banishing Beatrice--and he chooses the Beatrice. Not necessarily the most powerful play, but it ends us--our plan was to take the Beatrice with the TTT in our hand and make Zeus. As it is we can take Garura and synchro for Askaan to prep for a Deep Beyond next turn, but that's it, and with a Bystial threatening to eat our Shif we have to Deep Beyond preemptively, and he builds up to a lethal board. Whoof.
Game 3 we go first and set up a mild synchro board with Dimensional Barrier to back it up. We let him mill a bunch and hope to get some tear plays, but after slamming the D Barrier he cant make anything meaningful and while we don't kill him on the crackback, we go to battle and deal him 7900... right as the buzzer sounds. Match to us!
    Round 4 - Tenyi Swordsoul
That's not actually a joke. It was great to see a non-tear matchup... until I open Paces, Shif, and TRIPLE SHIFTER on the play. The only card she sees me play all game is Shifter. She makes Chixiao and Big Longyuan before setting 4 and passing--to which we scoop.
Game 2 wasn't interesting to start. We open synchro plays and Dimensional Barrier--a weird board that locks us both out of the extra deck. She passes on monk + backrow, so I know there's a Blackout coming. I bait the Blackout before ending on an okay board, she makes Chixiao but can't beat over anything and passes. We synchor into Chengying and surprise her with a TOPDECKED CHANGE OF HEART TO TAKE HER CHIXIAO. Love it.
Game 3 she goes first and doesn't open very well. We follow it up with Bahamut into Toad to try and keep Blackout from happening before passing it back with some synchro plays (but not enough for Deep Beyond). She manages a Chixiao, to which we White Aura Whale (hoping she doesn't have any follow up), but she slams a Longyuan and makes Barronne, blowing up our Whale with it's effect and attacking over the toad on our field. However, next turn we bait out the Barronne negate with Bahamut before Triple Tactics to steal her Barronne and end the game. What a great match!
Round 5 - Mystic Mine Burn.
Guess what? We don't run any maindeck outs to this!
Game 1: He wins. Nothing to say here. We side in Evenlys because its TOTALLY going to come up with all his backrow (and its the only thing besides Cyclone, so it's not like it can be more dead that the Bystials).
Game 2: I open an Evenly Matched so I actually pass on empty. He telegraphs the brick with just Field Barrier, Mine, Cauldron pass. We rip a Cyclone off the top, banish the Mine, make some guys and swing for about 5k before he scoops. Must have been a BAD hand.
Game 3: This one was insane. He sets two backrow and passes. We open Evenly but I don't want to use it on only two things, so I just make Bahamut, make Toad, attack with a couple guys then MAKE ZEUS ON TOP OF THE BAHAMUT (did you know that you don't have to use the Xyz that battled to make Zeus? Learned that by losing to it last week!). With Toad and Zeus I'm feeling pretty good. He plays Mine, we toad it (and steal it, why not). He then plays... another Mine. We have to Zeus this so I do, to which he reveals he had a WAKING THE DRAGON set! I'm about to concede once he shows me the tower from the extra deck... until he summons Five Headed Dragon. He had banished 12 off of to Pot of Extravagance and had nothing good left to summon. He beats over the Zeus, plays some backrow, and passes.
Remember what we had in our opener?
We go to battle and Evenly Matched him, so he banishes all but the Five Headed Dragon. We go into some Synchros and out the Dragon with an Askaan on his turn, but he chains Demise to our Askaan so I can't bring it back (or else I'll be locked out of effects). He ends on Mine, Field Barrier, and Cauldron.
We go to battle and Evenly him again. He keeps the Cauldron, since keeping the mine would just kill it at the end of our turn, and he's out of Mines while we have a bunch of fish. We summon a few of them and he concedes.
Third top in a row, baby!!! Can't believe I beat Mine. After the first two matches I felt like this deck was Shifter or bust against Tear, but you've actually got a lot of play with the Bystials and TTT. I think this deck definitely has what it takes to compete at the local level. Give it a shot!

The fish finally learned how to synchro summon!!!!
It's funny how I had almost the same list, but I don't have bystials and TTT atm, I run nib and ash
And instead os change os heart I use harpies because of mine and backroll players in my locals

I like having mermaid shark because it’s another 1 card combo
    Mermaid adds abyss on ns
    Abyss ss
    Search leaf fish
Link abyss and mermaid into abyss keeper (link 2 that specials fish from hand)
Abyss keeper effect to ss leaf fish
Lea fish dumps shif and then shif effect to banish itself
And you still have 4 cards in hand

What do you think dream shark with monoceros then virtual world lvl 9 that d shifts. And for abyss shark you can add n.as.h for 5 xyz with dream shark.
