Nice video - very well edited. I wish you to get rich one day with your little aquarium shop!
Thank you! Traffic has been picking up lately, so maybe one day I'll be rich haha
I sold a lot to a puffer fish keeper while back he said its incredibly hard to find snails for food .
I did the same. he stopped reaching out, though. I'm assuming he started breeding his own.
The only time I've ordered ramshorn snails they came in the mail in a tiny sauce/dipping container(3"x3") with a small hole in the top and they were inside of a wet paper towel(I'm assuming tank water). I was skeptical, but every single one was alive and immediately moving. The same seller also ships scuds in those tiny containers, but with water, also no issues when I've bought them.
They are pretty resilient creatures. I always ship them in fish bags but they do get shook up quite a bit that way.
Dude... say snails one more time! 😂 jokes bud you are killing this game, you are going to blow up i remember watching aquarium co-ops vids back in the day before they blow up, same vibe same energy right here bro, love your content keep it up man! Much love ❤
"so now it's their problem!" i literally 'lol'd... my cat looked at me weird
Hahaha, glad to hear that. My main goal is to provide useful information while spreading smiles.
@@BobMossNanoTanksYou’re accomplishing it! Subbed today because of the smiles and laughter! 😂 Awesome video!
Omg I just watched your selling snails video. Great video, I love humor. But that milk container thing you said is Canadian, well I live in Pennsylvania we had a local farm that sold milk in bags and you had to have one lol. I had to tell you Pennsylvania had them. I subscribed to channel. I have loved fish keeping for 50 years. I have betta babies right now and guppies, Cory cats that have bred. The ramshorn snails I got maybe 6 months ago, I figured I'd try and make a few bucks, but id really like to get into breeding and selling some fish and I'd like to try shrimp. I'm not out to get rich , just make enough to buy more supplies or fish lol. Sorry for the huge comment. I don't get out often lol
Thanks for checking out the channel and subbing! much appreciated! I've been super busy lately but I am trying to get some content together for people to continue to enjoy!
I like the idea of selling them but more tanks and some pea puffers seems like a good idea too. The key is more tanks!
I thought more tanks too and now I have 6 “species only” 😔 guppy mystery snail tanks.., thanks. 2 x20 gal long, 40 breeder, 55 gal 3x10 gallon tanks filled with endler’s and mosaic dumbo guppy’s still separating males from females and tons of white mystery snails. Every tank is over stalked, has weekly (daily) ammonia spikes and gross 🤮 cloudy water. To make things stupid -my husband is freaking out on the $$$ I spend on water conditioners, filter media and bacteria .. not to mention late night turns 5 am water changing emergencies- I bought a water pump. yay!🎉 anyone want snails and guppies? Buy one get 10 free😂
Great video ! I do breed the Sulawesi orange rabbit snails, mystery ramshorn mts . Your channel is awesome!
intro was great, im thinking breeding black worm, then shrimp and snails and java moss, and making mad money
7:42 We have pitchers in the states.
Do you wait for them to grow to full size before selling?
no, i generally give the customer a good mix of sizes so they get an idea of what's in store.
My favorite way to make money in aquarium hobby is to avoid ideas like "make a new tank"
Don't hold me to it but I've kept Nerite snails with plants and have never experienced that they've eaten my plants. However, I suppose they would if there aren't not enough algae for them.
I do get the bigger snails mixed up when it comes to which ones eat plants. I think it's apple snails that will dummy your plants
I love the vibe! Great video bro new subscriber here!
thanks for joining! Hopefully you have as much fun watching as I did making all of this!
This is Amazing! INSTANT SUBSCRIBE🌻 keep it up!
Wow, thank you so much! I have been very busy lately but I do have a lot of videos in the works!
Nice job man.. really enjoyed watching this video. Ps.. western Canada doesn’t have milk bags either ;)
Thanks so much. I'm coming to find it's basically an Ontario thing now and maybe some spots on the east coast? We really should just use jugs like everyone else.
Feel a little bad. Just put food in a little dish two days in a row. Let it fill up with pond snails and threw them away. Do that whenever they start to get out of control. Don’t usually keep pond snails they came in on a plant and wow they are not like rams horn and mtg snails. Not at all. Find it easy to keep their populations in check and love them. Oh well they are here to stay. Going to be a pond snail genocide at my house every few months or so. Thinking of getting a pea puffer when my next tank is all set up. Free food is already here. 😃
pea puffer is a great way to control the population, otherwise i'm pretty sure birds don't mind them.
You’re funny lol but in the Bronx rabbit snails are going for 8.99 like huh 😆
What shipping provider do you use? I'm in Ontario and I'm having such a hard time navigating shipping when it comes to selling Mysteries
Usually UPS but I'll use Canada Post if the rate is cheap enough. I've never marked a box as having live animals or fragile content and (usually) everything gets to it's destination just fine.
I thought Nerite snails weren't ones to eat plants, but rather like ramshorns and eat decaying matter and micro algae? I've had nerites in my planted tanks and my plants haven't shown signs of an om-nom-nomming, at least in my experiences.
if they're hungry enough, they'll chomp your plants. i've even seen my ramshorns destroy floaters :(
@@BobMossNanoTanks I had no idea!! That makes sense though! Wow I guess I must be feeding them enough haha! I always thought I kinda slacked on their feeding
we put water and make juice in those containers
it's a little different than a juice pitcher. look up milk pitcher and you'll see what i mean.
I wanna eat them. Is it a realistic/safe option?
I would only eat snails bred for human consumption, e.g escargot. Random aquarium snails may have some bacteria or parasites you don't see but could have negative health effects.
About the drugs
O
Never mind about that now
I have a for Hakka that I’m raising and he loves different things. He loves snails. I like to read some actually larger snails once they can breathe fast. Any recommendations if a Fahaka is asking
Honestly, I'm not too sure on that one. Ramshorns seem to breed the fastest for me but they're also quite small so probably don't fit your requirements.
Great video I've been trying to breed the pink foot ramshorns
@@BobMossNanoTanks I've got a bunch...need to start a tank for them haha
your in canada how much does it cost to ship a box of fish??
depends where its going and how fast they want it. anywhere from $15-$50.
i want to do videos just like this i like it
bro
the most important thing is to have fun. make sure you're always having fun because once you stop doing that, what's the point?
I'm going to sell my ridiculous amount of ramshorn snails....I have blue, red and brown....I was going to buy pea puffers to feed these to....but I would rather make a few cents on these pests... 🤣😆🤣
I made a trade off facebook for a bridge decoration and I only gave him 6 or so mini ramshorn gyraulus snails.
USA shipping
@@3DRC-707 I do ship to the USA now, but you gotta DM me to arrange things rather than just going through the shop
I bought 9 mail they came in a paper towel with wrapped up and then in a little Ziploc bag plastic bag And that's weird Weird took him out of the paper towel put him in the aquarium they seem to be doing just fine
They're pretty tough little guys, I just use bags because it's what I have.
what are the cool snails?
I have ramshorns and Malaysian trumpet snails, not sure which ones you think are cool haha
It is you William Levis?
@@BobMossNanoTanks he is a cuban novel actor 😂 he is famous in Latam
👍
I'm confident that snail sales will pay for college for my child, but another option to having too many snails is to start more tanks to accommodate them.
7:50 What the hell is that?
@@BobMossNanoTanks I've heard of milk bags. Is that to dispense it? I assumed there was a tap like a box of wine.
I have a 7-way "money tank" I set up with 7 different very prolific species of animals/plants. I also save all my dirty tank water from water changes. Pour that crap in a mason jar and sell it to gardeners as a liquid fert. Ever squeeze a sponge filter and see all that gunk? That's money.
Thank you for sharing. Do you mind also sharing which species of animals/plants you’re selling and how you find the fertilizer buyers?
@@iguessyouknow6285 Frogbit, water sprite, anubias nana petite, mystery snails, endler's, blue cherry shrimp, and rabbit snails. There are some pink ramshorns in there as well, but there's so much competition for food they rarely breed. I run 2 sponge filters only in a 20gal long, but the bigger the tank, the more money you can make. As for the water, I don't advertise it as being tank water because people get weird about it. I bottle it up, slap a label on it, and go to social media gardening groups. I also grow veggies in the summer, so I do keep some for myself as well. As for prices, you'll have to check your local market first and go from there. Most of my livestock gets sold to local pet stores since they're always buying and I don't like dealing with shipping.
Lol never thought of selling poo water hahaha
