I once had a teacher of artificial intelligence that at a certain point of History of AI began basically simping HARD for Miku Hatsune in the middle of a presentation. I wonder if she's updated her course to include VTubing

Honestly, I just see this as a next step in entertainment, combining multiple forms of media. An older example might be narrations and films, and how they were invented separately, but eventually were combined to create an even more immersive experience.

Although I agree that 2D>3D, 3D has some advantages in certain streaming situations such as dancing, concerts and especially ring fit adventure streams which gives the viewer a more complete experience that can't be found with any other method
Both 2d and 3d are needes imo. I agree with that "vtuber" guy on the screen talking bout how 2d captures the pure essence of the character, so its a good reminder of what role they are playing. But once 3d comes into play, a bit of the character fades away, but what compensates this is that they get to freely move around and interact as they try their best to maintain the role. Like how Nene repetitively slapped that poor camera man's face.
As a 2D guy, my only complaint with 3D is how its limited to in-studio streams. The 3D quality for most company vtubers have become quite good over the past years but the home 3D models still seem very scuffed. Buggy arms and eyes being common among home3D models across the industry from what I've seen, with Kizuna Ai being the exception
@@cloverus to add to this, even if vtubers are sitting down, 3D can still have benefits with detecting the tilting of the head, leaning forwards and backwards, etc. The charm and life of an anime girl is quite hard to capture with 3D, Vshojo as a case study. On the other hand, the 3D hololive models are well designed and the loss of life is quite minimal. I think with development of skill and technology, the global amount of life lost in 3d anime models will decrease overtime. In summary, both methods of vtubing have their advantages and disadvantages: 2D models are simple, require little effort to set up and contain the soul and personality of the persona, bringing an immersive experience for the viewer meanwhile 3D models can be used in a variety of situations, allows full body movement of the avatar however they cannot fully capture the life of an anime character and in some cases; they can look souless

I like the idea of a french ball for cultured people where we all just come together to watch VTubers and give them money, it should become an actual thing
Look at art. Painting. We went for full ultrarealism and when you're there... There's nowhere left to go, so artiststried absurd things such as abstract art. Therefore, I believe the next big trend will be 1D Vtubers
My brain has been educated and I agree on basically all things, yet I feel this pressure this urge it tells me to call Professor Lando "Best Girl", but I must resist for there is one. Or must I? Perhaps, just perhaps, Everyone that blesses us with these most enjoyable gifts, simply because they want to do so, might be what we can call "Best Girl". I mentioned this in the last video and I'll mention it here: Remember to be respectful of Lando and his future endeavors. Don't bring them up here, and don't bring him up there. I know you're excited, but you're breaking the golden rule. Although judging by the comments, people won't do that, and it's disappointing.
I think Lando is missing one of the biggest points in the development of the vtuber ecosystem which is collaborations. The fact that multiple characters belong to the same company, and this encouraged and enabled them to develop as a group. They develop multiple interpersonal relationships, from friendships to rivalries to 'ships' created by the fandom. And their interactions often create internal memes and developments that keep the viewer attached to the plot, not unlike an actual anime series. Even Lando's own 'oshi' is not a single vtuber, but two, and they're known as a duo and often interact or reference each other.
And the rabbit hole expands. On the topic of ultimate vtubers I'd like to mention: Tadano Rei - Jp vtuber but does a lot of English streams. Amano Pikamee - Jp vtuber with fluent English. Kson onair - one of the only 2.5D vtubers. Japanese with American thighs, might be related to a certain dragon. Fluent in English.
Hololive is an amazing business model They take whoever has charisma, give them an avatar that people will fawn over, and have them play all the big TH-cam reaction games. It's brilliant.
I didn't mean they'll take anyone and everyone who's charismatic. I'm sure they're picky with who they take. When you look at the facts, they're offering just about the best deal of any video group, on any platform. You don't need to look like an idol to be regarded as one- here's a character that people will fall in love with. You won't be recognized and hassled by fans you meet. You won't have unpleasant thoughts about your face being on someone's waifu pillow. You don't need to attract an audience. We've done that, and we share it around. You don't need to worry about the technical stuff, we have someone who does that. You don't need to worry about picking the best reaction games to play, most of hololive plays the same games, since in Japan Fair Use doesn't really exist, and the company needs to get permission. After all, if Hololive gets permission, they might as well have everyone play the game. More videos, less paperwork. Essentially, they've ripped all the negatives and difficulty out of being a successful reaction streamer. All you need to do is play your character and react either naturally or as your character would. And because of the reduced requirements, they can grab the people who are very very good at the one job, but likely wouldn't make it on their own. Hence, brilliant.
As someone with a PhD in Waifuoligy and who has a particular expertise in vtubers, I can say that this is a good video. Some mistakes lead me to believe that the professor doesn’t specialize in this field, but overall very well researched.
Professor VTuber Lando i guess that your interaction with your student is soooo DEEP experience that fill all your gaps betweeen you and your Followers
that dance earned my sub, what a spectacular performance i checked the chat frame by frame to see if it was a live transition and it actually was, that's unbelievable, this is what quality livestreaming is all about
Question after class Prof. Lando. Is TheRussianBadger a VTuber? He shows his face at the end of some videos but has a little combat character that often reappears in different videos.
VTubers are the closest any of us will get to living in and interacting with an anime. It even hurts, sometimes. *cries in dragon* And I can't believe this was all a 19-minute set up to why Saruei is Best Girl. That Saruei is his 24 Hour Cinderella.

As someone with a PhD in Waifuoligy and who has a particular expertise in vtubers, I can say that this is a good video. Some mistakes lead me to believe that the professor doesn’t specialize in this field, but overall very well researched.
