Who knew you spread fertilizer on the snow? We spread clover seed when the ground freezes in the morning when it is open from snow in late February or March. Learn something everyday. I bet you cannot wait till spring, I am ready for it and we don't have the snow you folks have. Keep up the videos a great source of educating us all. Best wishes from North Central Ohio!!!
Thank you so much for your great information and kind words! I can't wait till spring!! We have had some really cold weather. It is starting to warm up and that is really wonderful!!!
Hello Kate, of all the Farm Videos I watch yours is the very First where I saw putting down fertilizer on top the snow. Makes good sense though. Your Snow covered fields are Beautiful but it 87 here in Northern Florida and I like that better😊 Thanks for sharing and teaching me yet something else I didn't know. See you on your next one, have a Great Day & Stay Warm.🌹👍👌
Wow another awesome video miss Kate it’s awesome to see this I never knew about any of this it’s really neat thank you …. I hope it all pays off and you have a bumper crop thank you for the lovely video stay safe god bless
Amazing videos! Fascinating subject. I'm amazed at how much work gets done in that insane cold. What I kept thinking, though, is how fashionable you look in that tractor cab. Aesthetic is between Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's and Grace Kelly in To Catch a Thief -- two movies of long ago. Your grandpa may remember.
Thank you so much for your super wonderful and kind comment! My mom and I watched those movies a long time ago and she said that they are classics and to look classic never goes out of style. Thank you again!! You made my day!!!
Love the new technology. Back in the day we just hoped and prayed we put the right amount on and hit the whole field. Of course snow makes it easy to see where you've been. Keep smiling!
Thanks for sharing really appreciate it love the snow our snow melted or back to 45 degree weather now in Kentucky once again thanks can't wait for next video
I bet you are getting less fly time on the drone when the battery gets cold . It finally warmed up here in Wisconsin too and the snow is melting - springtime is coming !
Awesome PART 2! I can imagine that the electronics and the gps navigation help immensely during the times when the sky blends seemlessly with the ground on the horizon. It would be challenging to find or remember your way without it. In a way the visuals sort of remind me of the arctic. I'm curious, how do you spread the fertilizer when or if the snow becomes very deep? is there a select time or "window" that you would ideally aim for before it becomes too deep, or would you spread it sometime before the ground gets too soft and right before spring breakup, just before the snow melts all the way? Are some years more challenging than others?
Thank you for your great comment! We don't get really deep snow here because our winds are so high! Most of the snow blows away and we just have to watch and see if we think we can get the tractor in and out of the fields. It has to be really cold and really frozen. It's not something that we can do every year because of the weather and a lot of times we don't have any snow.
Thank you so much!!! I appreciate your kind words and encouragement! I had a rough day trying to get this video to upload. I am sure learning a lot with the help of Apple support team!
Great video again Kate, all that snow one field blends into another certainly need to be concentrating, you certainly put a lot of content into your videos stay safe be happy.

Is this the type of weather when you plant snow peas. .I am only joking. If your putting fertilizer on now will it be ok until spring.
