New Gods is a massive MUST for this universe. Like you guys said, introducing New Genesis and Apokolips and expanding the cosmic side of the DCU would be the perfect space for the New Gods to explore. Orion is one of DC's most underrated heroes btw 🔥
No deathstroke in Green arrow. Instead of swiping Batman adjacent villains again we prop up Green Arrow's villains, like Merlin, Brick or Onomatopoeia.
Redhood outlaws hands down my favorite comic run. Bizarro has always been my favorite comic character and his and Jason's relationship was beautiful. Also the speedy star fire part is pretty good.
i strongly believe james will use wally west as his flash.. that later will be the flash that join the JL team at some point (see JL unlimited for the reference).i think barry might be old like hal jordan too in dcu so john stewart carry on the mantle of green lantern and wally with the flash, both of this was the best version of their character so i'm excited to see that
There are two preojects that i would love to see. A Martian Manhunter movie, NOT a show, a MOVIE. He needs to shine, to have his own story that shows us how he interacts with humanity, his calm nature, his own struggles with being the only one in this world of aliens, they could focus on his psychic powers a lot, what he feels, what he senses from others, how he views humanity. Superman could show up, helping Jonn, relating with him as he is an alien himself A Captain atom show that takes place part in the 70´s or 80´s and part in the present day, that shows us how he was sent to the future (our present)
A good few things I'd like to see: Lee Whannell (Upgrade) doing a Nightwing movie, with Jamie Flatters (Avatar 2) as Nightwing and Keanu Reeves as Deathsroke. The Daniels (Everything Everywhere All At Once) doing a Suicide Squad vs H.I.V.E movie An Ella Purnell lead Zatana movie Lexi Alexander (Punisher Warzone) doing a movie about The Birds of Prey trying to help Big Barda flee from The Female Furies Julie Taymor (Frida) doing anything with Themyscira An Alex Garland (a lot of things) directed New Gods movie Antoine Fuqua (Equalizer and Training Day) doing a Question movie Any movie where Ricky Gervais voices Gentleman Ghost And this is a long shot...but a Robert Eggers (Nosferatu) Shining Knight movie
As much as I’d love to see slade fight green arrow, I’d kinda rather him be a nightwing villain, or teen titans. I’d still watch that green arrow movie tho
1. HAWKMAN!!! 2. A Static Shock movie based in the 90’s. Black Lightning being a 70’s superhero and Static’s idol could also make an appearance 3. Adam strange movie based in the 50s or 60s
Since this is James Gunn we're dealing with, I'm gonna bring up some obscure things I'd like to see: 1) Jonah Hex 2) Lobo 3) Kamandi the Last Boy 4) Arion the Immortal 5) League of Assassins (them just carrying out world changing missions throughout history)
i want the people behind the Penny Dreadful show to do a hbo max series of justice league dark, that centers around Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman, swamp thing, Etrigan and Madame Xanadu. They handled multiple main characters very well and nailed the atmosphere id love to see associated with those characters. Id also absolutely love a Vandal Savage mini series that follows him through the ages and have him appear as a over arching behind the scenes villain/anti hero(new 52 vibes) throughout the dcu in various films and different parts of the time line before being used as a main villian in a hawkgirl/hawekman film and also could be used in a period piece style golden age justice society film. Use him how the mcu originally intended to use Kang but rather than different mutlitverse stories he just pops up all through history.
I want a teen titans trilogy. In the first movie the hive are the villains, then Deathstroke appears in a post credit scene. Deathstroke is the villain of the second movie. Trigon can be the villain of the third film. They can add more team members with each movie. Like Wally West and Aqua Lad. I'd rather have Cyborg be a titan instead of a justice league member. Cyborg is my favorite titan. I don't want teen titans to be too edgy like the max show. I want it more like the old cartoon. There were fun moments.
11:43 my whole thing with having Pattinson in the DCU, is that then the robins don’t work. Then we can’t have Nightwing, Jason, Tim and Damien. We’d have to start at Dick. Which I’m personally REALLLLLLY OKAY WITH. But Gunn’s clearly decided to go with Damien and have the other Robins be matured
Since you lads did a list of five, I might as well do likewise. I wouldn't say I "NEED" any of these, just they're a wishlist that I'm trying to keep semi-realistic. In no particular order: 1) Booster Gold (tv show) - I would like this to be extremely episodic, like they used to make tv before the rise of season-long arcs. I see this as a show basically about something somewhere, somewhen going wrong that Booster somehow catches wind of. Not always timeline shenanigans, although time travel is, of course, essential in most episodes. Booster should be hungry for fame, but in the moment always motivated by more than just a desire to be a celebrity hero. He should be arrogant and possibly a little bit goofy; he should be the butt of the joke sometimes, but I would like it if the conclusion to most episodes would be bittersweet - like if the guy had Parker luck and his success in the episode comes at some kind of a cost. 2) Plastic Man (animated) - If ever there was a superhero fit for animation, it's him. Most animation techniques are literally part of his powerset, and unlike other stretchy guys, he's intended to be a comedy character. Warner Brothers has one of the best western animation studios, it's simply criminal that they haven't made a serious go at a solo tv series or film for Plas. Might as well make things right and tie it into the new universe. I think this should ideally be a mostly all-ages affair, which admittedly makes it ill-suited to being on a premium network or service. If that's off the table, I'd say there's still value to be had with Plas as a lead; as a former small-time criminal turned superhero, he has a very unique place in the world that could be explored using Plas as a vehicle for drama (between the gags, obviously). 3) Livewire (film) - While we're doing a Clayface movie, we might as well take an underutilized Superman villain and have some fun with her. As you lads may be familiar, she debuted on Superman the Animated Series as a villain intended to emulate "shock jocks", radio pundits who say intentionally inflammatory things as a source of entertainment. Great pun, give one of them electricity powers. I appreciate the creativity behind her original incarnation, but shock jocks are an endangered species - sniping at them isn't very sporting. Another pun concept can work for her in the year 202x, though. She can be a literal e-girl. I would have her be a streamer with a modest following and no skills to fall back on that feels trapped by life. She'd have an unremarkable personality at first, and we'd see enough of her life before powers to establish what it was like. She'd be a bit of a loser and a shut-in with an awkward, somewhat quirky personality. One day, she'd be going about some mundane task in Metropolis, with comical obliviousness to some kind of disaster going on. She'd be listening to music with headphones on the verge of dancing to it, completely in her own head, and something with a ton of electricity running through it would nearly fall on her. Superman would intervene to save her, but in the process get struck by electricity, which would transfer itself to Livewire, thus empowering and transforming her. From that point onward, she'd experience a total transformation in her personality to a bolder form, which would pivot the movie into being more of a teen comedy wherein she goes on a spree of petty mischief that ends up backfiring and making her life worse. She would be much less focused on the anti-Superman narrative than her original counter-part, if she has any animosity towards him, it would probably just be daddy issues being projected onto him. In any case, I view Superman's involvement to be minimal in this, he's only there to give her an excuse to have powers (in line with her original origin) and possibly to resolve the movie in case it needs to end in her starting down the path of redemption. 4) The Question (tv series). I see a lot of people in the comments attracted to the JLU version of the Question (which is both great and I wouldn't mind some inspiration being taken from it), but I see this as being heavily inspired by the Denny O'Neil run: Vic Sage is a political pundit/journalist whose vigilantism as the faceless Question is aimed at exposing the corruption of the mayor of Hub City. In pursuit of leads he walks into a trap where he must face off with one of the universe's top martial artists: Lady Shiva. She bodies him, the mayor's goons dump him in the lake after shooting him, and he's believed by everyone to be dead. And then he comes back. I see the formula of this being similar to Arrow at its beginning, only instead of some nebulous kill list, Vic will be coming up with his own targets, knowing full well what they did and why they'll deserve what he has to do. Also, not having the baggage that comes with teen drama could only make the show better. I see this as focusing on arcs roughly following the progression of O'Neil's run, which should be 2-3 seasons tops (which is good because tv shows tend to decline past that point anyway). 5) Resurrection Man (tv series) - Mitch Shelley is an amnesiac who cannot stay dead. He has the power of coming back after he's killed with one additional power, which stays with him until the next time he's killed. He's being hunted by individuals who know more about him than he does, and perhaps because of that, they aren't afraid of getting lethal with him. He's not really a costumed hero, but he ends up in situations where he has the chance to act heroically and he frequently opts to. The series was never successful in comics, but i think that may be because the format was always better suited to a different medium. A tv series could be a great angle for it. It isn't particularly anchored to any location, so it could be used to broadly explore the modern DC universe.
With batman 2 coming out in 2027, part three at this rate isn't going to come out till 2032. That's the only reason I don't want it to cross over with the dcu
Aquaman animated series like Nausicaa or Princess Mononoke style Fourth World animation like 80’s cartoons like He Man or Heavy Metal Wonder Woman animated series adaptation of Azarello’s new 52 run
I am in the midst of a passion project of a green arrow script with Oliver helping the glade as Oliver and green arrow with onomatopoeia as the main villain black canary as a side character and training Oliver to fight also with a cameo of wildcat since it would be at his gym and I have some other ideas of course but I’m really focused on keeping Oliver as the snarky asshole at times trying to help the little guy
1. Dr. Fate origin movie 2. Bat Family movie or just a Nightwing solo film 3. Martian Manhunter Film or maybe just an appearance in Justice League. 4. A Young Justice Reboot.
1. Nightwing solo film Put an emphasis on how jacked up Bludhaven is. I want to see Blockbuster and Deathstroke and don’t make it seem like Nightwing can’t handle things on his own. 2. Green Arrow solo film 3. Static(or Icon)solo film (Icon/Rocket other milestone characters showing up)
One problem I’ve always had with Bludhaven is that it doesn’t feel very distinct from Gotham tbh At least, not as distinct as something like Metropolis or Central City does. Bludhaven FEELS exactly like its a spinoff of Gotham.
@ I think after Dixon’s Nightwing run a lot of the elements of Bludhaven we’re added to Gotham. I’ve always thought of Bludhaven to have a more corrupt legal system and local government while Gotham is the more grime and craze filled with villains and antagonist.
I would absolutely LOVE to see a New Gods project set in the DCU as there is a lot of potential to introduce New Genesis, Apokolips, The Forever People, The Source Wall etc... as this sci fi Game of Thrones drama full of themes of family drama, death and war, the nuances of good and evil and so much more. Mister Miracle and Big Barda are characters I especially would love to see since they're one of the most underrated couples in comics and Tom King's Mister Miracle comic was genuinely a phenomenal book to adapt in the DCU❤
How would they do Pattinson as Batman but also have a bat family. You can’t have both without serious changes happening off screen. They shouldn’t fold in the Reeves stuff.
🤔 I will admit I am leaning towards a Static Shock film to have the "teenage superhero" solo film. Kinda like what Marvel with Spider-Man by introducing him in another film. He "can be" the DC equivalent to Spiderman.
I'd love an animated Flash show. The movie bombed. So, give him a cartoon! It should be more accurate to the flash from the comics. Do a better job of adapting Flash than the cw show or movie. I want an older Barry Allin who already has Kid flash. Later Wally can take his uncle's place as the main flash. We see Barry doing forensic stuff in homicide. Barry and Wally fighting villains together. The romance between Barry and Iris. Their romance in the cw show was terrible, make it better. I'd also love for Wally to be a member of the teen titans for a movie.
Two new gods projects one focused on new genesis with Orion’s struggle to fit in, and an apokalips movie focused on showing the romance between barda and Scott, vibes similar to the Barda comic with a wholesome romance and pulling from Tom kings mr miracle for the horror of apokalips, but I do want mr miracle to remain more a less a pacifist as Kirby created him! I’d love to see Oscar Issac as Scott and Gwendolyn Christie as barda
I don’t want the Batman in dcu not because he won’t fit but because he wasn’t meant too and I want dc and marvel to make things that don’t have to fit into a cinematic universe and more else world style shit. Hell let Robert play both versions idc
I would love if they introduced Red Tornado to the new DCU I feel like James Gunn would do excellent job with Red Tornado character make movie or animated show with him. Young justice and Batman brave andthebold really made Red tornado interesting so take some elements from that would be good.
if my theory was right i think the dcu justice league film would be like starwars film so i would loved to see that at some point, a story that feels like a big event involved a lot of characters, james said before that the animated justice league unlimited was a big inspiration for dcu, so i think it would be close to that, the JL team he's building now (i think) was also close to the rouge team member of JL unlimited with superman, batman, wonderwoman (the trinity show up in the center of the future vision), john stewart(casted), wally west (the only flash that died along with superman and other heroes in circe future vision in creature commandos), hawkgirl (casted), and martian manhunter easter egg appearing a lot in superman and peacemaker ss 2 so i think he already exist too. if that happen it would be a dream come true to re introduce a new JL team in dcu... oh and i pray someday in the future if we had the JL team,, i'm praying that james will do a christmas special of clark inviting the JL team for a christmas dinner with ma and pa kent at the kent farmhouse, that'd be a pretty special story
That Gotham comic sound great! I have to read it. Btw question for the Lads, who do you guys think was the best Canary in the Arrowverse? I think it was Sara Lance.
The flash is my favorite superhero period. I loved the CW show in the first 2 seasons despite some obvious nerfing they do to my boi. But nothing comes close to the absolute disdain I felt when the I watched the flash movie with creepy miller 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮. I have faith in James Gunn cause he seems to thrive on weird out of the box characters and the flash gets pretty out there but yeah that's what I need most from the DCU wether it's Barry or Wally personally I want Wally but either way plz give me some genuinely fantastic flash media it's way overdue.
trust me wally will be the flash in the dcu, barry will be as old as hal jordan,, so both of their mantle will be carry on by john stewart and wally west just like in justice league unlimited series, john and wally was also the best version of green lantern and flash so we might be getting peak in the future.
I don’t really want a new gods movie, I see it being too similar to the mcu with the eternals (which could be a flop) and would rather seeing them being in other shows/movies or at most a TV show
I disagree with the Pattinson batman being the DCU batman, it was Matt Reeves choice to not make Pattinsons Batman the DCU Batman so let's respect his decision and move on already we can cast another perfectly good Batman as well who contrast with Corensweats superman perhaps even better
I would LOVE to have 2 Justice Leagues simultaneously. I know, I know, is a lot, it's confusing. But imagine a "endgame" with 2 Justice league together. Two Batmans, for example 🤯🤯
These picks are great! Idk about Gotham: Year One. It has a great concept but there was some details that I didn’t like that kinda ruin it for me. No to Deathstroke in the Green Arrow movie, he has plenty of other of his own villains to fight. And there are plenty of reasons why Battinson shouldn’t be in the DCU. As far as what other projects should be in the DCU, other than the Justice League or the main members of the team (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, & maybe Black Canary and Hawkgirl), I would love to see Zatanna, Adam Strange, the Justice Society in WWII, Power Girl, the Question……I mean any DC character (when done right) would be great, really. But those are some things from the top of my head lol
I think that ultimately, if Robert Pattinson doesn’t show up in the DCU, it’ll be because either James Gunn says no, obviously, or because Matt Reeves is known to have a years-long writing process. People might not wanna wait
Like in a previous video you guys did, the blackest night would be the best show Lantern wise, but for a movie I think The Sinestro corps War would be awesome. Also have Mark Strong as Sinestro again
”Green Arrow would be like this everyday normal guy without powers who just shoots arrows, a comparison in the MCU would be Ant-Man” meanwhile Clint is sitting in the corner…
3:13 to be honest, I would be perfectly fine if they did Darkseid as the main villain, IF they adapt the Tom King run! Because the whole story itself is a trap,c Darkseid never actually dies in that project and it would be a good way to introduce us to who he is and his morals
Are you talking about the movie doing wrong or both the movie and show? Because, I don’t think they can do a story where a teenager seduced a grown man. And not being problematic.
I don't need Deathstroke in a Green Arrow project again. We need proper representation of Nightwing and Deathstroke's rivalry.
Exactly. I'm also tired of the Deathstroke/Batman shit. Slade is a Titans villain first and foremost.
I agree! I want him to fight the Teen Titans. Also green arrow has his own villains
A Nightwing film or tv show is an absolute must.

Deathstroke should really just be a titans and nightwing villian mainly, him fighting other hero's should be a once in a while treat

1. Dr. Fate origin movie
2. Bat Family movie or just a Nightwing solo film
3. Martian Manhunter Film or maybe just an appearance in Justice League.
4. A Young Justice Reboot.
1. Zatanna Movie or Show
2. Static Movie
3. Sideway Movie or Show
4. Star Girl Movie
5. Deadman Show
6. Wild C.A.T.S Movie
A Nightwing film or a live-action Dark Knight Returns adaptation would go so hard.
1. Nightwing solo film
Put an emphasis on how jacked up Bludhaven is. I want to see Blockbuster and Deathstroke and don’t make it seem like Nightwing can’t handle things on his own.
2. Green Arrow solo film
3. Static(or Icon)solo film (Icon/Rocket other milestone characters showing up)
One problem I’ve always had with Bludhaven is that it doesn’t feel very distinct from Gotham tbh
At least, not as distinct as something like Metropolis or Central City does.
I want to see a red hood solo movie more than anything
How would they do Pattinson as Batman but also have a bat family. You can’t have both without serious changes happening off screen. They shouldn’t fold in the Reeves stuff.
I’ve been wanting more Deadman in popular media for so long.
~_~
Teen titans live action… I wanna see beast boy be a beast
I’m just glad Redhood is finally getting a movie, kinda wish it was a solo movie but I’m hyped regardless
I want to see a Bizaro movie, an Ambush bug series, an Etrigan project, and something with Parasite.
🤔 I will admit I am leaning towards a Static Shock film to have the "teenage superhero" solo film. Kinda like what Marvel with Spider-Man by introducing him in another film. He "can be" the DC equivalent to Spiderman.
What about Martian man hunter. So underrated
All these are excellent choices. I really need a nightwing series or movie
What we need are movies that have Batman villains with Batman in them
Where do you guys watch CC? I'm Canadian too, and I really don't want to use illegal providers but don't know where else to find it.
I want a static shock movie or a TV show
I'd love an animated Flash show.
A teen titans movie
Green arrow movie
Martian manhunter movie
Justice league dark movie
More justice league movies god dam it
Bros. I know he's not a big character, but I need to see Sideways pop up in anything. Even if he just gets a mention I'd be happy.
No Hawkman mention 😢
Two new gods projects one focused on new genesis with Orion’s struggle to fit in, and an apokalips movie focused on showing the romance between barda and Scott, vibes similar to the Barda comic with a wholesome romance and pulling from Tom kings mr miracle for the horror of apokalips, but I do want mr miracle to remain more a less a pacifist as Kirby created him! I’d love to see Oscar Issac as Scott and Gwendolyn Christie as barda
A green arrow movie sounds cool, nice video
I would love to see Red Hood and the Outlaws in the DCU, not the first version of the team tho I prefer the dark trinity
Another Banger by the lads, I love the idea about the shows taking place in the past of these DC city's.
i think an anthology movie would be best fir green arrow. Lots of short contained stories building his character.
I don’t want the Batman in dcu not because he won’t fit but because he wasn’t meant too and I want dc and marvel to make things that don’t have to fit into a cinematic universe and more else world style shit. Hell let Robert play both versions idc
1:06 Yeah Canada Lads
I would love if they introduced Red Tornado to the new DCU I feel like James Gunn would do excellent job with Red Tornado character make movie or animated show with him. Young justice and Batman brave andthebold really made Red tornado interesting so take some elements from that would be good.
Metamorpho.... saying it before. 12/28/24
We need a zatanna show to explore her character and the magic side of dc
Love your content ❤❤❤❤
if my theory was right i think the dcu justice league film would be like starwars film so i would loved to see that at some point, a story that feels like a big event involved a lot of characters, james said before that the animated justice league unlimited was a big inspiration for dcu, so i think it would be close to that, the JL team he's building now (i think) was also close to the rouge team member of JL unlimited with superman, batman, wonderwoman (the trinity show up in the center of the future vision), john stewart(casted), wally west (the only flash that died along with superman and other heroes in circe future vision in creature commandos), hawkgirl (casted), and martian manhunter easter egg appearing a lot in superman and peacemaker ss 2 so i think he already exist too. if that happen it would be a dream come true to re introduce a new JL team in dcu... oh and i pray someday in the future if we had the JL team,, i'm praying that james will do a christmas special of clark inviting the JL team for a christmas dinner with ma and pa kent at the kent farmhouse, that'd be a pretty special story
Crimson Fox
Completely agree Pattinson’s Batman should be the starting point of the new DCU. And the DCAU is the definitive Worlds Finest
Court of Owls. If The Batman doesn’t the DCU must do it
I NEED MISTER MIRACLE IT COULD BE SO GOOD
An Animal Man project would make my world complete! Or Mister Miracle!
Bring a me black lighting animated series or flash animated series
Was waiting on the Lads take on this...👊💪✌️
What game is that your playing?
How about an hour of Poison Ivy and Catwoman with some soft music and a bottle of wine?
Happy Holidays my fellow Ladsss!!!
New Gods is an interesting idea. I wouldn't have thought of that! Not sure how well it would sell though
A Green Arrow movie would go SO HARD in today’s climate! A rich going out and getting justice for the poor and weak! FUCK YES
Finally someone else agrees on having the Reeves Batman in the same universe🥲
But those are some things from the top of my head lol
if we get robert pattinson we’re never gett bb a robin and the batman’s universe is getting ruined
i would love to see a wild C.A.T.S movie in the DCU with grifter from flashpoint
I think that ultimately, if Robert Pattinson doesn’t show up in the DCU, it’ll be because either James Gunn says no, obviously, or because Matt Reeves is known to have a years-long writing process. People might not wanna wait
Holy shit the lads are canonically Canadian
The Judas Contract - dun right! 🙏
Are you talking about the movie doing wrong or both the movie and show?
Because, I don’t think they can do a story where a teenager seduced a grown man. And not being problematic.
My only issue with Pattinson being the DCU Batman is that he doesn't feel the right age to have Damian running around with him
I definitely wanna see Batman the the green lantern stuff done correctly. And titans.
