Great to see you in the woods again Mike. Sitting by a fire and having coffee is extremely therapeutic to the soul. Especially if you have new knives to play with. Looking forward to more videos
When I am able to go into the woods, even for just an hour or so, no matter what else I do that day, the best part of my day was the time I was in the woods. It is what I will think of as I go to bed and fall asleep. And I usually have several knives to choose from, but normally wind up with my favorite, the Tops BOB or Buck 119. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for the kind words about my knife and my channel. The knife was a labor of love and I wish that I could do something about the sheath, but those production decisions are out of my control at the moment. My wife and I do make some nice custom leather and kydex for the Hog though. Thank you again and keep up the good work. I will try to produce more for my channel. I have some new equipment and I am learning how to use it to produce better quality videos. In dirt we trust! -Norseman
I really love that knife. That anorak is a milsurp from Sportsman’s Guide. I waxed it after I got it and have been using it all winter. I really like it.
Norseman was a Marine Corps sniper and survival instructor at Bridgeport Mountain Warfare Center. Great guy, smart and hard working. Nice review Semper Fi.
Thanks for the correction. Had this been a planned out video I would have known that. I appreciate you setting the record straight and taking up my slack.
Thanks for the Correction Nick. I missed that the first time I watched it. I was a USMC Scout Sniper instructor, Mountain Survival instructor, NATO SERE Instructor, winter and summer mountain leader.
Great sack and goodlooking knives there buddy. About the big splitter in the beggining, i have thinking alot latley and a have wonder if a big bowiestyle knife is not maybe better but safer to start the fire. You just need to split one log to get the rest going. What i will say that a good saw is more important than a axe.
Love that Hog , I've really gravitated towards these types of blade shapes, simple and with a good convex perfect. I ended up buying Gerber's new Strongarm in BDZ1, I tell ya brother that steel is awesome and the geometry of the saber is better than the 420hc, its not as thick. You notice instantly esp if you have used the prodigy and other Strongarm as much as you and I have, I love it and know you would to. Only $10ish difference to😉 Blessings, good to see ya.
I’ve thought about getting that new Strongarm. As long as toughness isn’t compromised it looks like a worthwhile upgrade. I’ll probably wind up reprofiling the Hog at some point but there just hasn’t been a need so far. It performs very well.
Blue Mountain Bushcraft and Outdoors The only issue I've seen isn't really a problem for me and that's the spine not having a 90° Easy fix five minutes on the stone wheel is all it needs. They put a nice tumble finish on it, some folks get all bent out of shape over the spine thing some reviewers even question the purchase over it ?😒. If you own a knife ya most certainly need to know how to sharpen it, putting a 90° on a spine is easier than working an edge. I think some of the best things about being into knives is having to mod things honing them to your liking. So when folks are dinging a knife over things like 90° spines and factory edges it is so funny to me. The BDZ1 has really good edge retention, plus it takes a wicked sharp edge....its a lot like Mora's 14C28N from my experience. If ya get one I'd love to see your take on it, but so many knives so little time😉
Mike, If I was you I would have made a U Turn, and gone back to get your "Mora Garberg Killer," namely the Terava Jaakaripuukko to pair up with the Terava Skrama! The knives you showcased just seem to fall short of the Terava Jaakaripuukko, and probably much more costly!
Yo Mike you said 1095 is Not your favorite steel So I was curious what your favorite steel wasNot for any real big reason except that I respect your opinion from what I've seen of your reviews thanks
I have been really impressed with 80crV2. It’s tough as nails, takes a great edge, hold the edge and isn’t difficult to sharpen. That said, O1 is great. So is A2. I like CPM3V is thin knives. I’d say overall, 80crV2 is near the top of my favorites list.
It's good to get outdoors I had the same thing happen in my house of nine people we were all sick for couple weeks I know what you mean about getting outdoors
Hi nice outing i enjoyed watching...if you wanna get rid of some knives to get that custom Norsman i am in the market for that Deer Creek Forge custom Canadian belt knife in Grohmann style.😀
Really enjoyed this "woods therapy" a lot! Thanks!!
Thanks for watching Charles.
Really enjoyed the video Mike!!! Great work as always!!! 👊🏼
Thanks Tim.
Great job Mike as usual! Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks Mike!
Great to see you in the woods again Mike. Sitting by a fire and having coffee is extremely therapeutic to the soul. Especially if you have new knives to play with. Looking forward to more videos
It truly is Mark. It’s nice to just have hear nothing but the wind in the trees and the crackle of a fire.
Always good to see you out in the woods. Great video
Thank you.
Great to see you again Mike. Best of luck in all your endeavors. Can't wait to see more videos. 👍
Thank you!
Cool video Mike, I enjoyed the format, knives used looked great, good suggestions, and well done overall. Make more vids :-)
Thanks Donny. I’m trying to find time to fit them into my schedule.

Good to see you out and about. Your spot on with the HOG. Awesome knife. Sweet anorak btw.

Lol. This time of year I like the 140 as opposed to the 110.

Sometimes you just have to do it.
That entire knife is good looking whats the price on that one
The Entrek is about $150, the Tops is about $125. You can probably find deals on both if you shop around.
I need to get a skrama 😍
Yes you do

Hmmm....I’ll keep that in mind...
Good to see you again. Been a while. Btw you might like Bjørn Andreas Bull-Hansen. He has a channel here on yt. Pretty good stuff, as well.
It has. Too long!!
