Great series of instruction. George covers and explains step by step all his processes for stone cutting and polishing in terms that are understandable and easy to follow for beginners as well as experienced cutters. Best video I have seen and would love to actually learn from this guy..Wish he made more videos for teaching.

Excellent tutorial with great safety tips. Would love to learn more about dry polishes for different stones. We only covered cerium oxide in my intro class. You carry fantastic stones btw. I just love playing with the rocks!

If anyone is interested in joining a class taught by George in Rockport, MA this coming April, send an email to contacts@villagesilversmith.net. We are trying to put together a long afternoon cutting class on a Saturday in April and want to see if there is enough interest. This will be George's first official cutting class in over 10 years!

Hi George. Hope you still check this video for comments.
I am looking for a six wheel lapidary machine like the one you use at the start of this video (not sure if the one you are using has six wheels) However I am searching all over the net and there seems to be so many different names for it. I know the name has something to do with lapidary polishing that search brings up tons of different types of machines.
Do you have any tips on what I should search for to find this machine.
(Complete newbie here I just saw a six wheel machine at a activity center and fell in love with shaping/polishing the different gem stones)

George, You mentioned your students. Do you give classes, and if you do where could I get some info from you in regard to classes? I am very new to cutting cabs and much to my surprise I love it. I do wire work and I find it very gratifying cutting my own cabs. Hope to hear from you. Connie

HI, wonderful vids. I have use silicon carbide on quartz massives for the last few years and am interested in switching to diamond. Are your wheels sintered diamond or brazed/bonded? I am ordering a new cabbing unit and would like to know what you feel are the most economic over time.
