Grian I agree with your sentiment on hope. Also, while hope can be terrifying its only through the realisation of ones entrapment that one can fashion a plan of escape. Much akin to the bars you mention, problems in life necessitate both our realisation and admittance in order for us to initially accept them in order for us to ultimately be liberated.
Bryan Ferry for the 2020`s. Grian Chatten debut solo album is showing his charisma and God given gift to pen and deliver a song. A true talent for sure. Ferry kept Roxy Music together while producing solo albums, i hope Grain can get the same balance. The world needs a great 4th Fontaines DC album. No pressure!
Well, recently I heard a line or two of the band doing Wouldn't It Be Nice, in an entirely original interpretation of a very iconic song. I hope they can stay interested and challenged enough to be around for years. Interviewer does a great job, speaking English and making sense of the interview. Cheers all around.
@@JulioRodriguez02 Lol..I was only taking the piss fella mixing the words up! But you're welcome I guess!! No need for a 'my bad' friend, was just having a laugh with ya, seems its actually my bad!
Yeah. I mean, humans experience emotions like a wave, ups and downs. Its BAD for you if you dont acknowledge either. Also Ireland has been through alot of shit is basically what he meant.
Ah c'mon man we're well known for our self-deprecating humour as much as much as that silly stereotype..we can handle it. It came off to me as they already knew each other because she was so comfortable saying her 'joke'. 100% honest question here, did it offend you?
I don't think his goal is to present " original " thoughts as there is nothing new under heaven. I find it brilliant that Grian has the the ability of self reflection that most people die never having and expresses it in a brilliant, personal, humble and real way. He , and his mates, are true individuals moving thru life and working to make sense of the madness and genuinely sharing it with the world. My take. Not trying to please ,just expressing. A very hard thing to do these days. Work hard to maintain it in the face of fame, Grian and Fontaines.
Probably the combination of a witty sense of humour and a second language that can't deliver what they really want to say. I see that a lot with people.
What a brilliantly interesting and intelligent frontman. Loving the album
i agree ! what a good band !! reminds me of Joy Division , and the cure .
Grian knows EXACTLY what he's talkin about. A true poet.
This singer has charisma.
he’s so attractive
He really was.
Best voice I've heard in years! Love the band.

"hope is a thing that terrifies me" YES
Grian's voice is so interesting and captivating. just found fontaines. good stuff man!

You'll never never how much I appreciate this comment. I'm crying. I guess that's a start.

Grian is the sexiest man in music today!!! Oh and did I mention the sexiest?
Please stop objectifying him

What a great personality!
After hearing this and the power issue with TIny Desk, you guys have got to spring for a better converter setup lol
Notice how the interview cuts off just as he starts to get dialectical...
Green is my second cousin iv met him when I was a baby if green sees this it's your small cousin Kim Chatten paul chattens dauter
Doesn't he spell it 'Grian' though? It's a unique name. Oh, and hello Kim daughter of Paul, hope all is well with ya!😊

He’s a well thought patient individual vs a bad interviewer. Her opening derogatory remark assumes Irish aren’t capable of not drinking beer???
Or assumes that that's all we do...
