- De postpunk rockers met een diepe poëtische laag, Fontaines D.C., zetten eerder al geweldige shows neer op Eurosonic en SXSW en we kunnen wel met zekerheid stellen dat ze één van de luidste bands zijn die we ooit hebben gehad in de Live Box. 12 april brengt Fontaines D.C. hun debuutalbum Dogrel uit en donderdag presenteerden ze die alvast in 3voor12 Radio. Zanger Grian Chatten schoof ook nog bij Eva aan vertelde haar hoe cynisme en geluk zich tot elkaar verhouden.

Well, recently I heard a line or two of the band doing Wouldn't It Be Nice, in an entirely original interpretation of a very iconic song. I hope they can stay interested and challenged enough to be around for years. Interviewer does a great job, speaking English and making sense of the interview. Cheers all around.
Grian I agree with your sentiment on hope. Also, while hope can be terrifying its only through the realisation of ones entrapment that one can fashion a plan of escape. Much akin to the bars you mention, problems in life necessitate both our realisation and admittance in order for us to initially accept them in order for us to ultimately be liberated.

Bryan Ferry for the 2020`s. Grian Chatten debut solo album is showing his charisma and God given gift to pen and deliver a song. A true talent for sure. Ferry kept Roxy Music together while producing solo albums, i hope Grain can get the same balance. The world needs a great 4th Fontaines DC album. No pressure!

Seems like a sound enough lad, but not being able to appreciate the sweet fully without first tasting the bitter is hardly an original thought.

I don't think his goal is to present " original " thoughts as there is nothing new under heaven. I find it brilliant that Grian has the the ability of self reflection that most people die never having and expresses it in a brilliant, personal,humble and real way. He , and his mates, are true individuals moving thru life and working to make sense of the madness and genuinely sharing it with the world. My take. Not trying to please ,just expressing. A very hard thing to do these days. Work hard to maintain it in the face of fame, Grian and Fontaines.
