Appreciate how Kosta asks questions like a normal person and doesn't try to show everyone how smart he is. He also lets the guest actually talk! Refreshing to see in a host.

It would, however, be better if he didn’t waste time with such a ridiculous question as guitar vs banjo.

Kostas!!!! Really nice interview. I knew you were better than some late night hosts on different platforms, but this was a stellar interview. I think Trevor's great skill was seeing himself as a 'comedic journalist'. This interview is fire.

Kostas started this interview at an extreme disadvantage because it required for him to be serious . What's admirable is he eventually evolved into a relatively decent interviewer.

She stands in a long line of black and white Americans who have acknowledged that rock music was a variation of, and synthesis of, rhythm and blues, gospel, and country. Elvis always talked about this, and in his '68 Comeback Special he said this to open up his 8-minute Gospel segment, which was the longest segment of the special. He also had Gospel overtones in his closing number, "If I Can Dream", an homage to MLK.

I'd like to see her work with my favorite musical artist, John Mayer. He's VERY misunderstood and criminally underestimated but, it seems like a lot of her thoughts around the music overlap. I'm not trying to say that he is her equal intellectually but, he is an unparalleled musical genius and they have a certain depth that overlaps even if I can imagine hers extends farther

I get what you mean, but I totally disagree because his humor style is the opposite of his content. Listen to his words - he is in awe of her...(as are we all🤩)
His arrogant, white guy presentations of money and business news are my favorite sketches on The Daily Show - so original!

Why does she unnecessarily make this issue antagonistic? My most classic mental image of the banjo is an old black man sitting on a chair, wearing suspenders, playing the banjo. Just because white people also played the banjo, that doesn't mean anyone denies the history of the banjo. That would be like saying that the piano is a black instrument because it was used in Jazz, and that blacks are denying its legacy as a European instrument. It's illogical. And a lie.
And why didn't she state that the guitar descended from the European stringed instruments, like the lute?

@@anthonyhardt1994 She said in one of her interviews that White Supremacists connived in the 1930s to steal the history of the banjo and make it a white instrument. Not only is that a fever dream fantasy, it's antagonistic.
