Three to five inches of girth apiece for corset and blouse. One inch extra, each, for the apron and shift. About 5 to 7 yards of fabric goes into the skirt, and 2/3 of that into the petticoat, at least.
      Just guessing.

@ Connie P Victorian husbands must have been very surprised, when they saw their wives without all their bulky corsets&pettycoats for the first time. In The Book of Snobs (1848) by William Makepeace Thackeray the author mentiones the lady of the manor, who looked huge in her formal gown (with stiff corset and crinoline under the dress); but when he saw her through the window, walking in the garden in the simple morning clothes, he said: "Oh my God, what a perfect slim figure she has!"

I have been looking all over for this recipe, thank you. My grandmother used to make this when I was a child accompanied with a brandy hard sauce. The sauce is what makes the difference. I remember well the crunch of the fig seeds. It was not a sweet pudding, but sweet enough… Because it was the sauce that made all the difference.
I have never had Weetabix, but in my memory this was absolutely delicious. Across the pond here in America, most recipes have way too much sugar for me. Looking forward to trying this.Thank you.

Mrs Crocombe likes apples in her dishes.. Kathy, her alter-ego, apparently prefers a strange futurist device which I see on her wrist which may have some link with apple,perhaps...

I have only seen Kathy as Mrs Crocombe - but I must say, that long curly hair is absolutely gorgeous on her. :)

Happy for a new video. After cooking and cleaning all day for Thanksgiving I have decided I need a staff like Audley House and my very own Mrs Crocombe.

Can't quite remember what they were called but I want to make those ginger biscuits that had molasses in them. I love the victorian way since I'm a bit of a history nerd haha.
