Something I've been "experimenting with" for a couple days is the gravebind unique gloves + MOM (mind over matter) +EB (Eldritch battery) and jewels (+ anointed notable) with 2% mana on kill. It seems to work quite well. The downside is capping resistances, especially chaos, given we don't get a gloves slot to help. It can be a really insane good mapping build, as long as you (or minions) kill monsters (in your presence) to get mana on kill. -> at 4% on kill I already was at full mana 95% of the time despite the high mana cost of flame wall and curses. -> This can also be done with "recover life on kill" instead and drop MOM & EB; perhaps go for a hybrid ES build, given how strong ES currently is and spec into armor + block to further add on it. (might try at some point) Currently I'm looking into the CI (chaos inoculation) build but on a somewhat lower budget/es pool. -> only at 3.4K energy shield so far, not yet block capped (62%) or even res capped (lowest = 53% lighting res). Thus far it holds up thanks to Grim Feast on the "lower" tier maps (4-5-6-7-8), arsonist do carry a lot too though.
@futurefear7699 are the gloves needed for the jewels to work? otherwise you dont get the 2% mana per kill because minions kill? I thought it should count to you =(
@@vLedra The gravebind gloves are needed if you're playing a minion build and not killing monsters yourself for the % on kill jewels. Every on kill effect only counts if you kill a monster, but gravebind's unique modifier says ALL kills count for you regardless of who killed them -> it says everyone (even party members) and minions of course. The only "downside" is it has to be in your presence, which is aoe circle around your character with base radius of 6m. That radius can be increase with increases to presence radius like on the "Alpha's Howl" unique helmet where it's doubled.
@@futurefear7699 yeah I tested it out it's nice now I can farm 5 breach hands on 1 map t15-16 without dying haha. I also have huge fps drops during the but still didn't die! Just trying to boost max mana so I can tank more
One defensive layer I was going to try was High evasion + Dancing Mirage + Embrace the Darkness from Acolyte of Chayula. Evade most hits, then when one does hit you it's reduced by 20-24% with Mirage depending on if you have a corrupted version, and then Embrace the Darkness mitigates a flat amount of that damage. At lvl75 and missing one 10% increased node, I have 570 Darkness, meaning I can reduce one large hit by a flat 570 damage. I know I can tank a fat boy corpse explosion in t5 maps even with under 40% resists, but I'm not really enjoying the mapping system right now so haven't been able to see how useful the set up is at high end :/
Since you test alot of stuffs, i have a question around infernal hound and support gem (isnt related with the video): 1 - searing flame and fire exposure will work with infernal hound passive burn, since it word "skill that hit"? 2 - Can burn effect stack from multiple sources? Example: infernal hound burn will stack with infernal legion from skeleton warriors? I appreciate if you share your knowledge
Great video. Casual player, going with Chaos witch myself (around lvl47 now, at Act1 Cruel, SSF), targeting max curses/chaos damage and keeping several mediocre minions, not using build guides or smth. So, at some point I ended up being weird type of glass cannon who mass-kills mobs over time but has massive survivability issues. Often dying before my (quite effective) DoT dps via curses+essence drain actually does its job. This is when switching to Grim Feast mattered immensely to me and made things work decently at least.
I am a new player, what is not clear to me is how to choose whether to adopt MoM or life stack apporach and what are advantages and disadvantages for a first build for act 3 cruel and first part of later endgame. when is it appropriate to switch from one approach to the other? I am currently playing life stack (more or less) following your leveling build video.
You are better off spending those points on minion nodes and using active block while mapping instead. there is a huge payoff to using active skills like Raise shield when you are dealing with oncoming projectiles and dodge puddles. When you do higher tier maps and other game mechs you will feel the pain of relying on block entirely for survivability. I used to love block gladiator bleed builds in poe 1 and it was always a must to have block capped and lucky rolls (88+%) for t15-16 maps and bosses with insane mods and still would get nuked randomly.
@@jules3431 most people can't afford beidat's hand and it's only natural to go strength armor hybrid on minion build (which I'm not a fan of). If anyone goes full es without chaos res it's even worse.
Good video, as a part time player, 10hrs per week. What would you suggest, strength/life, or ES, or mana? I'm on T3 maps now with gear worth 6ex in total.
While making the campaign progress slower, don't skip any magic or rare items. At worst, you can at least disenchant rares down towards Regals and blues still sell for a decent amount. It might seem small, but when you constantly sell them, the gold racks up. This helps a ton for when you find out something is not working out and have to respec. At best, you got a gear replacement. And especially pick up any superior/socketed item. Superior means it has %quality on it, and it can be salvaged down to currency. These can be sold (but more commonly) used on your gear to increase the quality. This can be a big boost to the defenses they provide (Armour, Evasion, Energy Shield), as it applies last. If you are struggling with Sanctum for your Ascendency, I can recommend running all lower coins you have before trying for the 3rd Ascendency coin. Not only will you get more used to the mechanics of the first and the second trial set, but you will also get a few relics, which can immensely help you. Honour Resistance, Increased Defences, Maximum Honour etc. are all great mods to get on relics, that can help you a ton going through Sanctum.
Ghazzy, nobody seems to be doing a video explaining weapon swapping and its effect on minion builds. I’ve been looking at running a second weapon set with the same spirit so I don’t loose minions but having the second weapon set spec into curse nodes for a better flammability curse. that would involve taking nodes out of minion damage. Would the minions snap shot the first weapon set passive tree minion damage until they die / respawn or do they change their damage stats the moment the weapon set is swapped??
Dont underestimate resistance and armour etc. On my first character to 60 I basically ignored it, on my 2nd, I ensured I had at least 20/30% and tried to keep it balanced. It made me SO much harder to kill it was game changing. Made the game much more fun even if do a little less damage, you can survive longer to at least DO some damage instead of being killed instantly 🤣
Thanks for vid! Currently planning on a Hexblast Infernalist and defences(resistances especially) are a bit of a headache for me. Can someone explain, what's the best way to get resistance / life on gear in SSF? My Witchhunter is in T7 Maps and still struggles to find ANY resistance gear, or at least it feels that way. Any tips?
It may be a bug but the Ghostwrithe unique armor still gives you ES when you have MoM and EB. I thought it would just turn the 50% hp into mana but it gives you ES that scales with increased es nodes and takes damage before your mana with MoM.
Trading based end game instead of just getting your own actual loot 😂😂😂😂 console players getting fucked if it’s through a browser is how you get loot in this end game 😂😂😂
Great videos, love all the minion content! I'm a little confused though with the block chance.... I have all the nodes you have on the tree and the anoint, but still only have 64% block chance, my shield gives only 41% does that extra 2% on shield make that much difference?
a little off topic when it comes to the monk. I hate the feeling of evasion rate and it's their primary defensive stat. Prevents all of very specific damage... until it doesn't. Personally I can't wait for druid and templar. Armor just feels better.
I'm doing a life stack build with armor and I have to say that I don't really get one shot by anything. Most things you would expect to one shot me are doing like 40% of my life, I'm regenerating life like crazy so I don't even keep my finger on the HP flask. I have around 67% physical reduction, 75% all res, 2.7k hp (with the hp reserve passive, so around 3.7k hp total), 70% block chance and I can pretty much face tank everything. With life stacking I also have around 520 spirit which means around 14 arsonists and I do have the HP regen support gem on the raging spirits. I'm level 92 and doing t16 maps regularly. Last time I died was to one of the lightning shrines and I got like 3 thunder hit me in like a second..

I think there are far more modifier to that energy shield compare to life, thus, you need to make sure that the 1/4 to 1/8 trade off is worth it in the first place.
Best tip : don't get hit, all defenses are garbage and you can't rely on them. Grimfeast allows you to not get one shotted randomly, but only if you don't get hit too often (to build your ES buffer up). And it'll probably get nerfed anyway. MOM is dogshlt too. On a summoner it's OK (as long as you don't get hit too often), but try playing an archmage build with MOM on T15s, you won't have a fun time.
I’d suggest checking out Lexyu’s lightning conduit summoner. He drops MoM, and compensates using several jewels that still redirect to mana as well as the tree. The jewels are expensive atm due to his videos, but it is an option if MoM feels that bad
One of my defensive layers is freeze XD. I love my frost skellies. Been running them since I could grab them. They feel so good as pure skelly build. Don't do huge damage like the SRS. But man the CC is amazing. I tried lightning skellies but they are just crap compared to it. I gave the frost skellies pierce and triple projectiles. It works great so far. I hope it can keep up with end game tho. But so far I am lvl 46 with like 4 deaths cause of my own mistakes and not caring defenses as much going in boss fight to get remembered I need some more XD Be warned that the freeze on bosses can screw their attack rotation and makes it very random. The count somehow started fog stopped it instantly and then lightning then some other shit all together cause of it. Made no sense XD
I don't understand what happend with the maket, I didn't have much time to play, I'm at act 5 but everything is like 1-2 divs, a div is like 60 exalted, how I suppose to have 60 exalts in campaign?
@@desaranfenrir9295 so in the endgame divs drop like exalts or? I don't think so. If they are in endgame why lvl 45 items costs 2 divs? Who in the endgame buys lvl 45 items?
Energy shield should be recharging permanently but be lowered in value by like 60% you cannot just be immortal by stacking armor or evasion but it is a layer of defense you can invest to sustain
Maybe this is a weird take but I really don’t like that the only way mage archetypes have to build physical defenses in these games is to build a whole lot of strength and carry a huge tower shield, it is so damn off putting to me and goes so hard against what a mage or a necromancer is supposed to be. You can turn evasion into armor but there is no equivalent for magic users unless you take ungodly amounts of energy shield or mana really, really late in the game and investing heavily and will still be in great disadvantage compared to just carrying that shield around. I would really like if there was a node that would convert maybe intelligence into armor for the energy shield with some downside or some other damage reduction that doesn’t require me to be a half warrior.
Do you really need an ungodly amount of ES though? I'm in T8 maps now, with about 6k ES with CI. I wouldn't say I'm super tanky, but it's fairly comfortable.
@@Yotanido I would say that's a considerable amount and considering that chaos damage deals double damage to it yeah, kinda. The thing is there is no % damage reduction like armor offers imho so even if you stack a lot it can be snuffed out. I think it offers a relatively hard barrier of entrance to the early late game compared to a STR focused class and I say this after having both a Witch and a Warrior at tier V maps which I know it's not much but enough to see a considerable difference
Also when trading and want to barter make sure the price asked by seller is negotiate not set to exact when price is set to exact someone is wanting that price and “usually” not down to negotiate…and let the person you are trading with know in the initial tell not later what it is you wanna pay for an item …if someone is coming out of a map only to get hit with a negotiation later that they may not wanna do or have to switch the ole brain gears ..well it’s a bit annoying. Lastly don’t when negotiating low ball the seller many folks will simply but ya on ignore and find it offensive. I think someone should actually do a trade etiquette video that might be really helpful to some newer players. Lastly it’s customary to say thanks or tft or simply ty when the trade is completed.

great tips, and so everyone tries to haggle for every little thing, so that the already inconvenient trade turns into hell when selling a large number of items. I just don't answer if someone starts haggling
i only try haggling for expensive items when i'm short on that like let say item is 20 ex i only have 19 i try it and almost always works :D Not because i wanna get it cheap but i cant wait to get it because if i had 20 i would never haggle because it sux i do opposite as well when i'm selling expensive stuff if people want a bit cheaper i would say mostly yeah sure. So give and take :D Also lots of time i giveup items for free as well depend on my mood so(for cheap items)

(Infernalist node "beidat's hand")
Thanks for compare ES stacking vs Mana stacking (MoM)
Chaos Inoculation + Eldritch Battery as long as you stay in town. Also playing on hardcore makes you die way less often.
But so far I am lvl 46 with like 4 deaths cause of my own mistakes and not caring defenses as much going in boss fight to get remembered I need some more XD
Be warned that the freeze on bosses can screw their attack rotation and makes it very random. The count somehow started fog stopped it instantly and then lightning then some other shit all together cause of it. Made no sense XD
Thanks for the help! Us noobs do appreciate it!
My brother in Christ get some sleep, lol all jokes aside you’re doing gods work and I thank you for all your videos man.
I don't understand what happend with the maket, I didn't have much time to play, I'm at act 5 but everything is like 1-2 divs, a div is like 60 exalted, how I suppose to have 60 exalts in campaign?
People reached endgame.
That's not the point I'm level 90 and no way I can afford these prices even trading
@@desaranfenrir9295 so in the endgame divs drop like exalts or? I don't think so.
If they are in endgame why lvl 45 items costs 2 divs? Who in the endgame buys lvl 45 items?
You're looking at insane items then. 99% of market is 1 ex items
1) they don't
2) because the market is broken by Korean bots
3) the Koreans who want to speed level their new ch
Energy shield should be recharging permanently but be lowered in value by like 60% you cannot just be immortal by stacking armor or evasion but it is a layer of defense you can invest to sustain
I think is fine now, ES has always been the best endgame layer of defence, even in PoE1. It is balanced by being expensive AF xdd
Thank you Gasy
I’m at tier 3/4 and I’m only at like 30% for each res lol
Also ich have life and es and mindestens over matter. With recoup mana on damage. Im so tanky. With shiled and minions.
Always click your chests!
where are your poe2 build guides?
They will be on IcyVeins, soon as their website is ready for it. Sadly they didn't get a review access client like many other sites so they are already a bit behind. (Also they are slow af this time around :( )
wtf do not barter if the item is listed as fixed price. The game lets you set it as fixed for a reason. Ghazzy please xD
I think the witch build fucked me for endgame bc as new player i coasted thru campaign with mainly offensive gear and now with the market I’m struggling to put together a better set of gear with resistances with all the plus spirit shit. Also i watched too many build guides and switched around alot lol
I dont even trade...never tried it. Im doing fine. Never followed a build guide either. Feels like im not playing the game myself if i was to do that.
about barter if it list as sellout and someone try to barter i just ignore that person... for real if it not expensive item don't even try.
ty
Play Poe 1 where you can actually reasonably scale defense !
Honestly it's not that expensive to play ES... I'm ssf and I have 10k ES without Grim Feast so it's not that insane to make yourself. I feel like people forgot how to play the game xD
great tips, and so everyone tries to haggle for every little thing, so that the already inconvenient trade turns into hell when selling a large number of items. I just don't answer if someone starts haggling
i only try haggling for expensive items when i'm short on that like let say item is 20 ex i only have 19 i try it and almost always works :D Not because i wanna get it cheap but i cant wait to get it because if i had 20 i would never haggle because it sux
i do opposite as well when i'm selling expensive stuff if people want a bit cheaper i would say mostly yeah sure. So give and take :D
Also lots of time i giveup items for free as well depend on my mood so(for cheap items)
@@EnderElohim Lots of people trying to get a 30-50% discount, many wait until you teleport and then offer you a lower price. You have an auction and you can always exchange currency by the way.
Do NOT barter with me.
Can you make minion build guide?
trading in poe sucks ass. i wanna press my 2 buttons and get it done. if sum1 barters i prob just ignore him after 1 week of league. maybe first week i would reply....
dont make trades a torture and just buy the shit or move on.
I totally expected a 20 second long video. Intro, please subscribe and like, say Just don't get hit lul and outro.
I was wrong! *sigh*
@@fasd538 sry, you get me yapping for ages instead
Going ES with no boss sustain healing and block that's 100% chance for free with blocking by outting up your shield and no mention of armour/defense taken vs healing per second........this is flat out bad advice wth gazz 😲
Me 2nd
Me 3rd
the markets the way it is because 1000s of chinese players did that beetle farm they nerfed a few days ago. it was dropping divs every 20 ish runs all the dudes i traded with 1st 2nd day were dropping divs on ~10 ex worth of gear i thought maybe they knew something i didnt about the new state of currency lol wish i kept those divs till now hahah
