Watch me turn an old footstool into a modern piece of furniture. i hope you enjoy the video, if you have any questions, please leave them in the comment below!
I have a little stool that is very close looking to yours and I was wondering how I should recover mines, with the webbing or foam, and I think the quickest way is with the fabric and foam, thank you for the idea....
How did it work out with using the wood stain without sanding it first? I always thought that you would have to sand down the word first then use the wood stain, and then use varnish? This is new to me!
For me it just worked because the surface wasn't smooth enough, but if you are working on something very smooth and shiny then you should sand it first Hope this will help you!
Why did you have to cut the fabric off like that? Could it have been done just by unscrewing it like you did after? I’m thinking of just going over the old fabric on mine with the new fabric. Any reason that I can’t?
This video caught my eye because I have that exact same foot stool! I've wanted to recover it for years. Great video!
Thank you:)
2:54, just marking the spot I need most for myself 🙂 thanks for the great video!
Glad you liked it!
@@naturescourtyard9507 i redid my stool yesterday and it came out wonderfully thanks to this video (especially the corners!). Thanks again 💕

I am working on the same type of stool for my mom. It was pretty rough, and I wanted paint/stain to adhere better so I gave it a light sanding first.
I’m about to recover a footstool so this was perfect.
Thank you:)
Good job! I like that fabric too.
Thank you!
- Nice job. Thanx 4 sharing.
Thank you:)
Awesome video! Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you:)
Love it shilpa. Cant wait to see it in real 😊
Thank you ravali:)
I’m confused, why would you bother to cut off the top bit when you know you’re just going to remove the whole thing anyway?
Love! Where’d you get the foam from? And what is it called?
It’s called upholstery foam, and I got it from Amazon.
I like it.
Thank you:)
I was wondering about how to cut the foam to size - should it be exactly the same size or is there overhang?
It should be the same size:)

You just put stain on top of varnish?
I did that after sanding

Yes, it can be done by just unscrewing it, I cut the fabric because I didn't want to unscrew it but ended up by doing it;)
My base is metal not wood.. Anyway I can buy a color that I could spray on it? Where could I buy this spay too?
You can buy spray paint from craft store or hardware store
Thank you for your video! What size foam did you use?
I have used 1" foam
@@naturescourtyard9507 thank you! I’m looking forward to doing this project later this week.
Has anyone used a hot glue gun rather than fabric glue?
