- I decided to give scrapper another go recently and OH MAN was it worth it! the Scrapper has been one of my favorite elite specializations and I thought I would give hammer scrapper another go in GW2 pvp and it was worth it! In later matches I tried the offensive rifle scrapper and had great effect!

I played the engineer quite a bit in my earlier days with Guild Wars 2 and I still think its one of the most fun professions to get on and kick around. But playing a bruiser style scrapper was great! aside from being able to be kited quite a bit I was able to sustain and keep my hp up with this scrapper build! Long live the hammer!

Scrapper is my favorite spec in the game. Especially for pvp. Function gyro is just such a nice tool. On top of that, you can turn it into a blast finisher OR make it have two charges and it gives a 1.2k barrier every time you use it.
Function Gyro can both stomp, and revive allies. Have at it. There were a few situations there, where the gyro would have killed folks that ended up rezzing.
I missed about 4-5 kills that the function gyro could have gotten. I got to sweaty!

@@CaffeinatedDad Haha it certainly is. I managed to get a few pvp games in and it was really fun! I'm thinking of trying scrapper in pve and who knows maybe WvW as well. I don't have end of dragons yet for mechanist (which was the only reason I tried engineer) but I think scrapper might hit the spot for me after getting very burnt out from playing guardian.

Grenade scrapper is doing incredibly well imo. I'm holding off on giving any pvp videos until after the may 2nd balance change

It's not demolishing people. Actually it is a failed attempt at fixing them. ;)

@@CaffeinatedDad If it makes me any less annoying, I do a lot of WvW and I forget "function gyro" to finish. Every. Single. Time. :D
Qvestion....if you're not running any explosions (no grenades no mortar), could it be better if you ran firearms instead of explosions?
Technically sure! This was quite a few patches ago so I'm not quite sure what it was like then
@@CaffeinatedDad I tried it a bit. What I found is....boy are explosions important for grenade builds and mortars. Even if you're running rifle, when it comes to zerg or point control with lots of guards (wvw) they are really nice to have. That said, getting into a duel with someone who can run and control distance requires max rifle or pistol damage. Grenades are much more difficult to use when rangers and deadeyes have unlimited amount of space to run around. 1v1 the rifle and pistols (at least one) are very important. Would like confirmation as I'm still pretty new.
Scrapper is the only spec that makes wanna play Engineer, but the class could have at least 2 or 3 more weapon sets to use...

Additional weapons comes in the form of engineer kits which are more or less weapons. It's the main reason why engineers can't weapon swap in combat and also why they don't have much weapon choices
the scrapper is an absolute blast tbh. I recommend people give it the credit it is due cause honestly it's a ton of fun!
@@CaffeinatedDad scrapper has the best concept of the Engineer's specs. Mechanist should be better if the bot was more steampunk and less... you know, Jade...
