Excellent... It has been about 10 years since I had done any photography beyond using my smart phone. Sony A7 IV has added an update to ver. 3.00
The question is whether this version supports RAW files from Sony.
Lots of pastries and complaints about their decrees.
Does anyone have this camera and LRm in the new version?

It doesn't maka a duplicate inside a catalog... It just has adjustments data separate from raw file.. I have 12 TB of raw files on external drive .. of course I don't have duplicates on my 1TB macbook

What's the point of increasing contrast then, in the very next step, raising the blacks and lowering the whites? You just undid your first step!
The contrast slider will effect all exposures globally, where the sliders below It control different parts of your images exposure. When editing, it is important to set your proper black and white points, even if you want to reduce contrast 👍🏻
