      Awesome video. This is better than a paid course I have for snippet optimization. But Im curious, since that first site had a DR of 50 and if those other sites also have a higher DR would a site, say with DR20 have a chance if they got their on page better than the competition?

    Ranking is a magic, as no one recommends more than one H1 in an article but we watched the top ranked page is having the multiple H1, still there are many things to explore in SEO....

    Thanks for the video. 2 things are unclear for me:
    1. What's the point to remove the site from the featured snippet, i.e. what's the "find where you are in the queue" actually means? Do we need to remove a guy from the featured snippet to see if afterward, we're in the TOP-5?
    2. "Replicate the triggers, but *better* ". What would be "better"? Higher on the page? Adding more keywords?

    • @julieadams2172
      @julieadams2172 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You remove the competitor to see where you are in line for it, if at all. If you remove a competitor and see yourself there instead, that means you're second in line. If you make a change, and you don't see yourself second anymore, you know the change had a negative impact so you can revert it or tweak it. Replicate the triggers but better means to have a more complete answer. If its a paragraph snippet, construct a sentence that answers the question more completely and quotably. If its a list, maybe add more items or change the Htags around it so Google better understands your list. If its a table, add more data and/or more complete data.

    I have a question about this. Google got part of my content and show to users, and this user's simply don't enter the website to read more, because google is showing the answer for their question. So i lost the opportunity to show them my other products and alternatives. What to do in this case? Report the snippet?

    • @julieadams2172
      @julieadams2172 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There's some SERPs where it's better to have the #1 organic listing instead of the snippet. You can either use the nosnippet tag to force Google to take you out of the snippet and keep an eye on traffic changes, or you can test out changing the end of the content being pulled for the snippet to create intrigue and make people want to click to learn more.

    I have seen a paragraph snippet where 4 pictures are included in a line above the paragraph. I don't want to give the search query as I just indexed my page optimized for the term. Anyway, I checked the pics, and they all come from a different site than the paragraph. And all 4 pics had a very nice professional graphic plus a lot of bullet-style text on them. Very interesting. It clearly tells me how to score more on the image searches. The images were definitely part of the featured snippet else there will be text that says "images for (xyz bla bla) search term". Maybe you can do some analyses on this and make a post plus video on that hey. Images search rankings account for about 10% of my traffic

    What happened to FAQ schema? I used to just generate that and insert it into the page header, re-index, done. Doesn't that cover all the Q+A type of snippets? What Am I missing?

    • @julieadams2172
      @julieadams2172 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      FAQ schema will get you the SERP feature below an organic result that shows the questions with accordion style answers, but it's not needed for the snippet. The Q/A snippet is looking for a succinct answer to the query, regardless of if it's in schema or not.

    Interesting approach, how long does it take to be reindexed? This is because before trying to change the snippet again in case that changes didn't appear yet. Thanks

    • @julieadams2172
      @julieadams2172 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you index in search console, normally within an hour. It varies a lot though, I've seen it instantly, and I've also seen it take a couple of days. Just make sure you reindex it in search console otherwise you're waiting on Google to pick it up again naturally. You can run the URL in search console and it'll tell you the last time it was indexed. If you see that it was reindexed after you made a change and nothing happened, that means you're free to try more tweaks.

    Hey Julie - there's a much quicker way to find where the content of a featured snippet is being pulled from on the page Google is scraping. In Chrome, simply click on the URL of the featured snippet which opens the page and you'll see the featured snippet content highlighted in yellow. NIce & easy! Cheers.

    Any tips for how to 'out-do the competition' component? Obviously you can try to write better, more optimized content. Does offsite play a role here at all when it comes to snippets?

    • @julieadams2172
      @julieadams2172 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Snippet optimization is all about how Google understands the query and your answer to it. Offsite will help to get you ranked high enough organically to be eligible for the snippet (top 5 or better normally). It's a game of guess and check, but you're right about having better content, and a more complete answer. If it's pulling a table, add more comprehensive data, if its a list, add more bullets, if its a paragraph, try to fully answer the query in a single, quotable sentence. It's going to take tweaking and I almost never get it on my first try so just keep at it if you're ranking high enough to be eligible.

    Hi Julie, great video, very informative, however I have one important comment to make:
    No, there is absolutely no problem on having more than one H1 on a page, matter in fact you can have as many as you want without compromising neither your SEO or your rankings (**if not absurdly abused**) . For snippets, it's important to be sure to have your snippet answer within the first 500 words on your page. Be sure to separate your snippet from the rest of your text as you would do with an ad. And of course use H1, no matter if there are more H1 in your page. Also use bold text (as it signal Google that it is an important piece of info). Those details do not guarantee to, but will improve your chances of getting picked up by Google. Cheers Julie.
