I used Magpie/Swan/Bird of Paradise to win 3 times in 5 attempts at the new weekly and would very much recommend it. Meercat was occasionally on the squad until I could reach tier 6. I for sure wouldn't call any of them bad after that experience. Also, the Bird of Paradise counted the Magpie banking gold as "spending" it, so you don't have to buy things just to make it work. I swear, NL watched it work twice and just blanked on what was happening.
Find someone that loves you like NL loves holding onto a lvl 1 Swan well past the point of being useful when he has tier 5s and 6s in the shop that would beautifully compliment his run

For anyone playing the weekly, you can win 80% of your games if you push for Magpie, Swan, then either groundhog and Okapi or just Okapi, and Bird Of Paradise. For you're 5th animal you can go either Monkey, Poodle, Ostrich, Cow, or Moose if you didn't buy a groundhog. With Okapi, you should be rolling 5 times every turn. Okapi will carry you through the early game and the comp has so much scaling that Magpie, Okapi, and Swan usually get to 50/50 by round 18 if you didn't win already. Remember to watermelon all 3 of those. Using an early croissant on Swan and Magpie is also really strong. Once you get a Bird of Paradise, try to roll 5 times a turn to buff Okapi but also let the Magpie spend 3 gold(lvl3) each turn. I've had an 80% winrate with this comp over 10 games or so, even messing up due to stupidity sometimes.
Golden pack rekindled my love for this game - so much so when it was ripped from the test server I stopped watching and playing. Glad its back. Lots of great synergies and fun ways to play. Super excited about the golden pack in the weekly. Shout out teamwood for nailing it.

I found this weekly’s broken scaling. Got two mouses, and put a donut on a chicken. Never got to lvl 2, but didn’t need it. I got 50/50 so fast. Replaced donut with melon and steam rolled a turn 12 win
NL min maxing right at the start, buys mosquito and put on last unit then moves 3/3 mosquito to 4th place instead of just putting the mosquito on the 4th place immediately
Magpies SPEND gold NL. NL! Magpies SPEND gold. NL when you have a magpie on your team and the magpie "uses" gold at the end of the turn, the magpies are SPENDING gold, they SPEND gold NL!
Am I part of only a few that find the new pack annoying as hell, its a big positive getting new abilities and pets and more depth to the game, however, I feel like it's the equivalent of adding a card game to a dice game, adds alot more reading and interactions that are hard to follow... makes things like good ability/synergy/stats less of a debate and goal in the weekly to having to weigh the value of gold pack vs non gold pack... like granted there's summon builds and such already but with limitations on the hp of the spawn or of the attack not maxing out but at with the new pack, its almost garunteed there'll be a 6th unit team, building a trumpet build can get you 50,50 teams with a 50,50 dog spawn Just seems like the balance is alot more variable than previous pack add ons

He literally just needs to pay attention to the mechanics triggering. He did it correctly once and didn’t even realize the b.o.p. popped it’s buffs.

Golden pack is totally worth it! I got the pack and won my 3rd game in, then won my 5th game. Idk what it is about the comp but its really fun.
