Its interesting to watch how they build stuff compared to other nations. It works for them but I wonder why they don't just use rectangular tubing instead of formed channel. It would save a shit load of time and be considerably stronger.
Less work for them.

I thought so too, then I looked closer and realized they did it properly off camera. All the welds are the whole length.

@@Drmarshallmd Ja aber sie haben Die Querstreben angeschweißt, bevor sie die Teile Formschlüssig verschweißt haben. Das sind somit potenzielle Schwachstellen. Was sich dann, nicht im ersten oder zweiten Jahr bemerkbar machet. Aber über die Zeit dann die Sollbruchstellen ergeben. War selber Schweißer.

Well, unless those fellas welding went back and at least did some stitch welding I foresee a lot of weld repair in both the frame and the bed. The longest weld I saw was possibly only 3/8-1/2”, while most all were just your basic tack welds, you know to hold something in place type of welds and very minimal at that ranging from an 1/8”-3/16”. I understand the value of stitch welding over continuous welding to allow stresses in large welded items to relieve stresses of shake rattle and role which a dump truck bed sees a lot of. But after seeing this one built I would have to see one in service for several years to consider buying one from them and I’m pretty sure their welders were just doing what they were told to weld and how much to weld to save money on welding rods consumed in the job.
And have you ever watched video of trucks in use in those countries? Always horribly overloaded, stuff falling off the sides, swaying back and forth on terrible roads. It's a wonder they don't fall apart after a week.

Кроме того, насмехаясь над этими трудягами стоит посмотреть самим в зеркало. Сколько на наших дорогах разъезжает сваренных праворуких конструкторов, которые при аварии разваливаются пополам? Сколько у нас из тоталенных авто, из гармошки вытягивают, рихтуют, а потом на рынке продают с табличкой не б/н?
I read your comment through the TH-cam translation so I apologize if the tone is harsh but I think I have one thing to say back to you. It’s one thing to construct skillfully. It’s another thing to construct skillfully and safely. Know the difference!
I’m going to have to agree with bignboofer69. I can agree that these people appear to be skilled, as well as hard workers. However, wouldn’t it make allot more sense to simply finish out the welds making this equipment safe? Personally, I would trust a bed made of timber and lashed together with strong rope, way more than this thing. I honestly can’t believe that anyone could think those crappy welds would hold together with that bed empty, let alone under load.
