Also Shostakovich's 5th symphony. I wasn't really into abstract art, but I recently became interested in Cy Twombly's work, it could of been when I heard someone paid 70.5 million dollars for what some say is all scribble. Then I read that he was a cryptographer for the US army. And he taught himself to draw as a child. So I thought there is more to his paintings than meets the eye. He went to Cuba after the revolution, and also traveled thought the middle east drawing books full of his own crypto stick drawings. Then he married an Italian baroness, who I think was really really rich and went to live in Italy. Look at his paintings of The Coronation of Sesostris, He was a King of Egypt.
I’ve watched a few of your videos now. The ones about Basquiat and Rothko. These are wonderful presentations about what these artists created, and contextualizes their art concisely.
I read the Andy Warhol diaries and I don't remember him saying anything about "the sacred and the profane,"when describing his paintings.All I remember Andy Warhol saying about his paintings and silkscreens is that they were "Just about the surface."
There is a restaurant in Madagascar that has a series of Warhol Marilyn Monroe silk screens on different colors. They are stunning. There is a restaurant in Zürich with original Chegal works. Also stunning. Please look for beauty wherever you can find it. It is fleeting and easily destroyed. Especially now.

Yet again anther wonderful piece. I really enjoyed it. when I was 24 years old I came to visit a friend in NYC and he took me to a Dance Club called Area. It was a very cool place. Anyways that night Andy Warhole was in attendance and he played chess with himself while naked. Now I hate to speak ill of the dead but sometimes it can be fun. Especially when the dead are residing in hell with the likes of Manson and Hitler. Now Andy Warhole was a hack not an artist. Perhaps he was a vampire for all I know since mostly he was seen in NYC at night. Anyways Andy was fond of snuff films. I know I know how I can I prove this when there is a cottage industry determined to maintain the value of a mass produced silkscreened 'original' Andy Wormhole. Okay so here goes. His muse Edie Sidgewidge wh was hellbent on a heroin suicidal mission from gad was about to overdose and Andy's factory flying monkeys all together went to the owner of the Factory and told him that she was about to overdose. Andy who was an evil stupid motherf**ker responded by saying that they should film it. Now once you understand the reality of this depravity one has to ask oneself. Was Andy a bigger or smaller monster than Picasso? Was Andy just a successful version of Charles Manson? Was Andy Warhole a creep who somehow klilled Art by making it an industrial product no better than a widget sold at Walmart style auction houses. God died and his death proves there was never a god. Art died because Andy made it about making money and then about becoming famous by making celebrity the new religion ala Catholic iconography and I mean that in the worst possible way possible because all religiuous art however beautiful it is has ever been is all based on a lie. To make Marilyn and JFK and Jackie Kennedy into pieces like Andy did was a grtesque moment in the history of art that killed art. Art now is an industrial activity because Andy's Factory. Hirst Keifer and even Bankski are all about making as much money than it is about the thing we call art. So what now is valued as art is really a form of money. It is too bad that someone like Chiuck Close gets humbled while someone dead like Andy gets a pass when he deserves way worse than Chuck Close. So here is a heretical thought. Just as the Catholic Church and the Nazis burned books or banned books that challenged their authority perhaps we should be burning art and false memories of artist. All you said about Andy was true except that he was a lover of snuff pornography and he was just a poseur who loved exposing his depravity for all of us to see. My friend who took me to see Andy that night was an accomplished artist. A real one not a fake manufactured one like Andy Wannbehole. Sadly he too suffered from a life of depravity that eventually led to his death from AIDS years later. As I get older I feel like a fool that when I was younger I fell for the hype for the cool above the beauty and truth that makes art eternal and meaningful. Andy was and always will be a hack. Playing chess naked was not a very authentic and original thing. It was an ugly sampling of a better artist than he ever hoped to be and never was. Maybe he was like Marilyn a victim of Catholic Priest predatory sexual abuse. I have known many who were victims. the vast majority suffered greatly and a few however repeated and continued the predatory cycle. It is the tragedy of being human that often makes for both great artist and also great monsters. My own theory is this. The victims of sexual abuse who suffered and made better lives for themselves deserve our admiration and empathy and those who enjoyed the abuse and continued the predation on others deserve karma sending them to hell. Andy died alone due to typical NYC hospital care neglect. Before that he was shot by one of his groupies at the factory and his influence on Basquait probably contributed to his overdose on heroin. I loved learning that Trump stiffed Andy on a commisioned work by Trump. First thing I hear that Trump did that has me liking him. After all Trump was and is a bigger and better and more successful con artist than Andy ever was. Hell makes me wonder if Trump is a better human being than Andy since I doubt that he enjoys snuff films albeit he is into Ukrainian hookers peeing on each other. Wait wait!!!
