    Good video. Hope he and Elrigh Louw get a shot with the Boks this year. Jasper is not the answer at 8 and we need a proper blindside back-up for PSDT.

      People under rate wiese immensely. He must just keep his cool, that's bus biggest problem. He is a tough as nails.

    • @jacqloock
      @jacqloock 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Wiese removes a lineout option at 8. Don’t think I’ve seen him actually pass. Linking play non-existent.
      These are not the traits of a world-class 8.

    • @saffaadventures365
      @saffaadventures365 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@jacqloock I disagree. Have you watched any of his games for Leicester. He passes, off loads and SMASHES the opponent. Something young duane was very good at and he's still really solid. Why do you think the springbok selectors would choose him out of everyone?

    Should have been an apprentice on the year end tour. Was a monster at school, so glad he had a great first season back at Province.

    Always loved South African no.8s they're always solid ball runners. Spies to Vermulan to Roos and even before spies they were always producing solid 8s

    New blood surfacing. Evan is agile, strong, with a step or two! Love it. Plenty of replacement boks coming through. Go young ones!

    He would certainly add explosiveness to the springbok counterattack. Next I'd love to see his lineout and breakdown skills.

    Evan Roos already the most dangerous 8th in SA history for me😂🤞, and he's only getting started, only 22 this year and he's done way too much already

    • @yourmomskitchen3236
      @yourmomskitchen3236 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not most dangerous yet, but well on his way.

      @lindumusamkhabela575 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yourmomskitchen3236 he solidified his danger threat since Paarl boys, him and Sharks' Celimpilo Gumede who both played SA schools together, best 8 mans in the world most definitely

    • @yourmomskitchen3236
      @yourmomskitchen3236 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@lindumusamkhabela575 I know, I played against him in matric and Grade 11. Lmao, they are at best the top Juniors at #8. Not the best 8's in the world. 😂 It's very ignorant to say they're the best in the world, because they aren't. If you believe that, you still have a lot to learn.
      Roos even complained about how tired he was during the B&I Lions game and couldn't believe the physicality. He still has a long way to go. Jasper Wiese, who isn't even the best, is miles ahead of Evan Roos and Gumede. And don't get me started on van Staden, Louw and Coetzee. 😂 And that's just Saffas, Watson from Scotland, Faletau from Wales, Blackadder who can play 8 and Savea from NZ... The list goes on. Evan Roos is great, but he isn't the best. 😂 Don't be dense.

    • @lindumusamkhabela575
      @lindumusamkhabela575 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@yourmomskitchen3236 we shall see come 2023 world cup to see if Roos isn't the best, thing is I see what's to come, the same Wiesie who couldn't get much game time for Boks, Roos is only 22 this year and look at what he has done, imagine him at 25, Gumede same thing, and you can attest from his last performance for Sharks, they just both way too ahead of their time in my opinion for the number 8 position

    • @yourmomskitchen3236
      @yourmomskitchen3236 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lindumusamkhabela575 I didnt say the 2 of them are bad, both of them are BEASTS. I agree with you there, but they aren't the best 8's in the world. They're still inexperienced and ... if I can say it, unfit? Based on the Lions game and what Roos said.
      But yes, in a few years they'll be amazing (maybe even the best) and Roos will replace Wiese.

    That ability to shift the point of contact and accelerate is phenomenal... and then the pace.
    Don't get any URC here, so interested to see his enforcer ability.. He seems to play a linkman type role, which I like, but is not really in the preferred Bok style for an 8.
    Exciting nonetheless

    The South African backrowers are up against some big Irish backrowers Jack Conan, Caelan Doris, Josh Van Der Flier, Peter O’Mahony, Gavin Coombes, Nick Timoney, Max Deegan. But two to look out for are Gavin Coombes & Cian Prendergast. Very similar players to Evan Roos.

    Look at the physique it's all natural nothing like the big upper body and thin legs.no hormone growth or these iron junkies.all these European forwards especially curry and Underhill ,damn those muscles don't look right

    • @dalenewton9697
      @dalenewton9697 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's underhill's natural shape. Broad shoulders and back. Short, stocky legs.
      Curry put on about 8 kilos since turning pro and does look more 'unnatural' though.
