Great video Sonia and good to know that we follow very similar protocol in the UK! Emergencies, hot pulps and acute abscesses are two visit, as are the really mucky retreats... Cheers John
I am in my postgraduate degree so experience is also a factor for me to do most rct's in two visits, i am getting faster but sill dont have the experience of an endo specialist who is been at it for years, but i follow the same protocol for my cases..
Mine were a month apart and now I have a white filling and the next appointment ISNT for the temporary crown. Should I be suspicious? I’m kind of used to being used for the poor-people insurance and I’m loosing it.
@@alwaysyouramanda OMG I feel your pain... Any updates? I may be able to recommend a good dentist because I've been researching them and learned about what to look for and the wide range of quality out there.
thanks mam....my dentist strongly recommend me to do the root canal on my up left no 6 teeth which is hurt from 8 years.. not joking ya...anyway anyway my point is during the root canal treatment should they use nonmetallic filling before cap that... or metallic .. which should the best
So it is normal..? My 3rd appointment isn’t even about the tooth aaand now I’m wondering “what about the cavities we could clearly see forming on the molar behind the tooth that had the filling pop out..?” (I had a hard time flossing ever since I got it and one day it popped out when I pulled back. The first dentist I went to right away had scared me off nearly for good- it wasn’t for a whole year that I went t find another because of the horrible pain. (She was NOT a dentist- drilled into my crown when I asked for a cleaning- so many other red flags- when she finally got the polisher into her hand, it made her and everyone else jump when it spun. They had even high-fived when they first took me back saying “yes, our first patient.”) I am absolutely sick about this field and trust no one lately. I’ve had too many bad experiences.
I'm sorry but how can you live eight years in pain and not think about going to the dentist. As soon I realized something is wrong with my tooth (pressure pain) I went to the doc. It wasn't even hurting that badly but it doesn't make any sense to wait. Indeed, I needed RCT.
Is second visit of rct still painful,,because ist treatment it was so much painful,,thats why Im asking then,,because i feel troma and fear to comeback for the 2nd time visit
Sorry Dr Sonia, after all I've just researched I will never be recommended a RCT AGAIN no offense. I'm sure you're well qualified at your profession but after reading info about RC, I no longer think all bacteria can be eliminated from tooth, even if the tooth is dead, I feel it will cause problems later, jmo Best Regards😷!!!
Steve Gioe I totally understand and you are free to make your own decisions for your body. This info is for people who want to give their teeth a chance. I believe that not all bacteria is bad and that the immune system is also a wonderful thing and helps us recover from many types of infections throughout our lives. The root canal is focused on decreasing the bacterial load so the immune system can take care of the rest. This info is not in any way to change your mind, just for those who would like more information on saving their teeth.

@ Steve Gloe. Research is not something that you do on TH-cam. It is done in a clinical or laboratory setting. You are just listening to people’s opinions
I dont get it. How can you leave a patient with half a root canal done. Unbelievable. I don't care what the logic is. It just makes more sense to do it in one visit. No matter what.
I only had the first part today. Is it normal to leave the dentist with a hole in your tooth after the first appointment?? Im kind of worried bc I’m familiar with getting a filling, but my dentist didn’t do that this time... help 🧍🏿♀️
@Mercy Grace Thangjam don't be scared! my second appointment was fine. she numbed my mouth so i didn't feel anything. But after the appointment i would feel some aching here and there.

I am having root canal and I am having it with 2 visits. I got the roots out and a patch till my next visit.
i have already had 4 visits in a space of 4 weeks and my doctor is asking me to come back for the 5th time. should i change the dentist?
Indeed!!!!!

Losing my mind, not the insurance. Poor as ever.
I’m beginning to think they want this tooth to break.

In layman terms non metallic (tooth coloured) silver amalgam gives a hue through the crown

Did you leave with a whole in your tooth or they gave you a filling??
What about a dentist wanting to do it in four visits? Can I change dentists?
May I know how many days normally the interval from first visit to second visit?
