The Governor Sanwu Olu has right and is welcome to seek the blessings of God from this Ministry, it's God who has the final decision on whether he is worthy of His grace. I don't have any thing against him as a person and I join this prayer ministry to pray for God's protection on all of us, including him but for forthcoming elections, am not supporting him because of what he stands for ,his party and who is behind him. Lagosians deserve transparency and accountability in governance, there is need to put an end to oppressive and suppressive hegemony and godfatherism in Lagos. The governor is welcome to worship....l admire the humility to come. That's how it should be.
Objectively speaking, some people do not understand that state authorities are supposed to be recognised in the church as long as they are on that seat. The respect is for the seat as a constituted authority who in the real sense should lead God's people in love and caring for their temporal welfare while the men of God attend to their spiritual welfare. Unfortunately, most of the prayer points that men of care handle are issues that these state authorities should provide for her citizens. The people that gather for the worship and prayers are also under the security of the state in a way and when they are against you may cause mayhem that could lead to loss of lives of worshippers while the men of God are untouched. So wisdom is necessary. Again, it is not wise to reject praying for any that humbly requests for it. However, one needs to be extremely careful not to declare a politician as God's chosen or who will win. Men of God should not campaign for him in such prayer platform or begin some victory prophesies. Politicians are so unreliable and they only came to get votes and will never come again until next election. It is also an opportunity for the minister of God to use the opportunity to polititely with good choice of words tell him or her very obvious concerns and problems of the people and advise him on some wrong steps they had taken as the mouthpiece of God. He should also be asked to desist from direct campaigns especially against opposition as that might cause uproar. Just ask God that His will be done and God to bless and protect him...finish. If the person is not yet on executive seat in the state then he or she may be prayed for but not given yet the same recognition as one on authority. Even the pope receives presidents, prays for them and advises them too. Even though most of them are unrepentant and have no conscience but this is the standard thing to be done anywhere whether in the church or mosque and prudently too
