If you must have both- GMT on jubilee bracelet and the sub on oyster is a better combo.
I don’t comment often on videos, but I must say: this channel is a great find. Your videos are high quality and really help the decision making process. Excellent videography and watch perspective. Particularly like the on-wrist shots - POV and third person give a good sense. Breadth of watches reviewed and compared is also very impressive.
A very well done, unbiased video. Speaking from experience. My first GMT was given to me as a gift in 1967. I bought the submariner in 1976. So I’ve been wearing ROLEX for 55 years. Both my submariner and Pepsi were bought sept. 2022. No question about it for me it’s the Pepsi . Nothing against the submariner since I do own one. However, the sub for me seems just a little too boring. I do enjoy the GMT especially when I’m in the kitchen cooking and I want to time something in the oven. I can turn the bezel either way. a lot faster to get there than the sub only counter clockwise. it comes down to this. What do you like better, Toyota or Nissan both will get the job done. Both have little idiosyncrasies about them. So you can’t go wrong with the sub or the GMT get one and you’ll never be sorry for it, and you’ll never get cold feet with what you just bought.
Great video. I'm blessed to own both, both LN's. I used to wish they both weren't LN's but now I have come to realize how different they are on my wrist. How they both wear differently feel different and both give off a different Vib. I prefer the GMT just by a hair, probably because of its aviation connection and my connection through interest in planes since my youth and Forty years of my career around planes. Water and diving not so much. I got the Sub second because of its iconic status. Like most diver watch owners mine gets wet mostly when I wash a dish or take the occasional dip in the pool. It was great learning all those little differences between them thanks.
My first Rolex was the Submariner 23 years ago. I still have it. Next came the Datejust 41, 5 years ago, and just recently, finally purchased the GMT Master ii Batman on Jubilee to celebrate 29 years wedding anniversary. The GMT was my Grail watch. It's so similar to the Submariner in many ways. The new maxi case makes everything look bigger. Especially the dial, hands and markers. All of these time pieces are works or art and will last forever if you take care of them.
Thank you Sir for making all these Pepsi videos which help make the wait for mine a little easier! I absolutely love the colors on the bezel of the latest model!
If I am not wrong the 40mm SubC lug is a hair thicker than the GMT. At least that was how it look when I bought my black GMT back in 2018 when I had the chance to try and choose between the GMT and the Sub at the AD.
Another great video! Would love to see you create a video on all the time pieces you own and the reason behind your selection. There is so much depth and knowledge in each of your video that I am sure your audience will enjoy to hear what drives you to buy a watch for your personal collection.
Great video Hafiz. Stunning and artistic cinematography along with a relaxing and informative dialogue. If you don't want a Rolex you will after watching your video! I have the 126610LN and I really think it is the perfect watch. The best elements of all my other prior Rolexs (SD4k, 5 digit polar explorer and 114060 sub). I love the GMT Pepsi but wouldn't trade my Sub date for one, once you have the glidelock nothing else compares for comfort of wear! Subscribed!
Hafiz, I watch so many watch videos every day, but I have to give you compliments, that your videos have one of the bests watch shots and close-up recordings! Very very well done!
Well done, Hafiz. A great video. I do however prefer the Pepsi on a jubilee. I think the GMT Master II is now only second to the Daytona in desirability and has taken over from the Submariner.
Hafiz you did a great comparison between those two, hopefully your channel will grow more! You bring it over with excellent knowledge and it’s nice to watch, better than some adverts 😂
Hi Hafiz, great video as always. Quick question - does this GMT have an AR coating in the inside just like the 41mm sub? Are the laser etched coronet the same on both?
To be honest, they look almost exactly alike except for a bit more colour. Silly to own both with so many great choices out there besides Rolex. I own a sub and was going to buy a GMT but just not worth it. Took a Glashutte Original Seaq Pano date instead. Own a Daytona as well
I'm thinking to myself if I should try and get the Pepsi for 3 years now. I got the 126610LN and your video is like perfect timing for my thinking process ;) Thank you and now I'm finishing the video, which will be top notch quality as ever.
For day to day wouldn’t you get slightly tired from GMT’s colourful bezel? Great looking watch don’t get me wrong but overtime I feel you might get over it. Opinion?
The bezel of the 6 digit GMTs doesn't do it for me either - the font/number size just doesn't seem right. Too ostentatious and chintzy IMO. I absolutely love the 5 digit holes case pepsis but the lack of glidelock or easy link at that price point just isn't palatable to me at the moment. Glidelock is a game changer.
Hafiz, I‘ve just found your channel - your videos are really great. 👌 I would love to see a comparison video between Pepsi on Oyster and Pepsi on Jubilee. It seems to be impossible for me to decide which one is best.
You can measure three diff time zones as I can see it ( don t own gmt watch ). First normal hour/min time. Second with bezzel aligned with hour mark and THIRD with that gmt hour arrow ( how do you call that?? ) Am I wrong??=
With the glide clasp compared to the easy link, what is the difference in LENGTH of the clasps. (You said the Sub width was one mm wider, how about length?)
Exactly, which one to buy first :,,,(. If only the Submariner would have shiny inner links though. The numbers on the GMT Master's Bezel are too chunky and take over the front of the watch. Great videos bro, keep up the great work.
I have always been disappointed that the hands on the Submariners are less substantial than the GMTs, when for diving purposes they ought to be the other way round. The GMT is the perfect design; the Subs will be if their hands are enlarged,
The sub definitely should have been kept at 40mm ☹️ there was no reason to change it… If anything was to be upsized then it would be the Daytona because it’s a chronograph but it would still be pointless really
It’s basically the same size as the old one..I have both. Only the 41 wears slightly better with thinner lugs and wider bracelet. Try them both on and you’ll see. The difference in size is 0.3mm you’ll never be able to tell
I completely disagree. The problem I will always have and the reason I'd never buy myself a Rolex is their minuscule size. I have a thicker wrist and LARGE hands (can pam a basketball) and any Rolex looks like a lady's model on me. If your wrist is more dainty like the person in this video, then it looks large enough. And then there's the comfort factor… The FLAT edges on the bottom of the case are sharp and if you wear watches all day every day as I do, that harsh edge begins to present itself int he way of comfort. I think tradition is great and all, but I don't see any reason products can't be improved given how easy it is to do so today. A slight rounding and even an angled taper to the bottom of the case would go a very long way towards making these watches wear in such a way you don't notice they're on your wrist. Wider rings have included comfort fit for decades now and they make all the difference in comfort and wearability. While Rolex are superb watches, there are better watches at significantly better price points. The only Rolex worth its price tag is the Milgauss. I find all others to be unjustifiably overpriced.
I would appreciate it if you do an analysis on the new octo chrono on rubber 1033771. It has a bery different feel from the regular one in bracelet. May be you will like this one
I may be in the minority, however, I much prefer the Sub. The GMT Pepsi looks too bright with the red (almost pink ceramic) and the blue. It doesn't look elegant. It looks a bit childish.
