Much love for Darin! In addition to making the best mufflers for 993s, he's heavily involved in the Porsche community. I'm glad you were able to set this up Will, great work!
Fister Exhaust has been on every one of my Personal 911's 993, 997, 996 and its possibly the best sounding exhaust that still keep that Porsche sound but with an added rumble ..Darin is the man and is a pillar of the Porsche community that has helped us all enjoy our cars just a little more!
Darrin is a cool guy I recall him from Rennlist approx ten years back when he got started he had the trans mount for the two wheel drive conversions on C4 and TT cars and I remember purchasing one of those for my TT . It was and still is a great product and as I remember very seamless to deal with , haven gotten one of the Fister stage two or three muffler set ups as of yet but likely just a matter of time working on a 993 RS and a ‘91 C4 3.8 build …Bert
Great interview... Mister Fister quickly becoming a living legend for the 911 fans. Always appreciate when the 996 is mentioned by a man of his esteem without the negative comments we often get, slowly gaining the respect it deserves... best of luck and continued success with his business and your channel
Daren did my exhaust on my 1997 993s ... Fister 3 all day!! I had my Porsche shipped to him and had the exhaust installed before I even drove my car for the first time! Great guy and great exhaust!
Thanks Will & Darin! Great segment, but I am a bit biased. I talked to both of you guys on the exhaust upgrade for my ‘95 993 Cabrio and ended up going with the Fister II’s. They were exactly what I was looking for from my car for a great sound without being over the top. So I sincerely appreciate the advice (Will) and the superb product and service (Darin)! Happy Porsche 993 Camper!!! mark j
What a nice new feature on the channel! Darin is a good storyteller, really nice. Keep giving your guests this much room to tell their stories, quite unique on YT.
Great stuff, so good to see Darin in this interview, such a nice humble guy, had him do my exhaust about 5-6 years ago, and have not been more satisfied with his work, so fortunate to be only about an hour away from his shop. Thanks Will
Very cool. Darin is such a nice, down to earth guy. I've got the FD Stage 3 muffler, short shift kit, and golden rod on my 993. FD Motorsport products are phenomenal. Thanks, Will and Darin for this interview!
Looking forward to this one. I just mounted the Fister IIIs to my new '97 C4S and the car sounds amazing. Best mod right out of the gate. Cheers Darin & Will!
Excellent interview, Will! Darin's discussion of his friendship with Rudy Mancinas reveals what an awesome community Porsche enthusiasts share. I enjoyed learning more about the Fister exhaust as that truly is the standard for a 993 exhaust mod. This said, a really inexpensive product Darin sells is the Pad Keeper. For all the neat freaks who grimace when they see their sagging engine compartment insulation, this simple mod is a no brainer. Thanks for the unique insight - do more of these please!
Darin Fister is awesome! He hooked me up with a nice setup for my 996. I even happen to be wearing my FD Motorsports shirt while watching this. Great interview, I really enjoyed it!
@@TheFDMotorsports I just picked up a 96 993 with 48k miles two owners, uncle then the nephew bought it. Unreal service records, including a engine out clutch and all new seals last year. I would love to have had a coupe but this car was too nice to pass up as it was local to me and affordable! Super excited. I can’t wait to put on exhaust on this new to me Porsche. Cheers!
Darin is a great dude. His exhaust work services multiple generations of Porsche. The Fister mod he did on my 40th Jahre was the day I felt my car finally came into it's own. Every time I start up the car it growls and I think of the intro to Black Sabbath's I AM IRON MAN. It sounded like a dentist car before, now pure evil. Even the air-cooled guys like the sound of my water-cooled car. To date it is still the best mod.
I respect and like any content you create.....don't change a thing....I'm learning more every day because you're a legit SME for all things Porsche...especially air cooled!!!
Great content. I have wanted a 911 my entire life literally since I was a child and I’m 56 now so…it’s time. I’m in the process of trying to determine what model would be the best fit for me. Your videos have been super informative! Keep it up.
I don’t have an air cooled Porsche at this time. I was looking to purchase a 914 a few years back and was told that Darin had checked the car out and had made an offer to buy it. I stopped by his shop and he took the time to tell about his impressions of the car his offer. I had never met him before, he was nice easy going guy. My next Porsche will have Fister Exhaust. His shop is located in Brentwood, North California a city I lived in for 30 year before relocating to NC
Great interview. I've modified my 930 and 996 but been hesitant about touching my 993. All original with the exception of BBS wheels. after this interview, I think it's logical to get some fister's stageIII install. Thank you guys for your time.
Great video, RIP Rudy, I had the opportunity to meet him and see his collection of Porsches. He started with BMW's and had an equal amount of E30 M3s, E10s. Huge loss to the car community in general.
Great interview! The best sounding exhaust for a 996 too. 2 years ago I drove 300+ drone free miles home in a new to me ‘99. Stock except for the Fister exhaust.
996 Fister made a huge difference to me 5 years ago. 3k-5k range more interesting by far although noticing varicam change requires more attention. Perhaps I save gas by shifting before 6k over and over to enjoy the sound. Glad to learn his handiwork extends to air cooled
2003/05 I found a guy on Rennlist, sent him 2 of my 993's mufflers - he sent me his back - he cut the end off then punched out some holes in the baffle/sheet metal inside and tig welded it back up and i could hardly see any difference, but it did have a 30% throatier rumble, even idling but not "HEY LOOK AT ME" ...allot more subtle and sweet. $500 per pair.
I really enjoy your content, your honesty, and your unique perspective of the different generations of these cars. I'm definitely here for the air cooled information, but I would also love to hear more about your 2014 981 Cayman S and where it fits into your collection. I saw it in the background at the beginning, and then you touched on it briefly during the interview. I know it likely doesn't compare to the experience of the beloved air cooled cars, but I think it's interesting that it is the one you have out of the other water cooled offerings. I own a 2016 Cayman S, so there is also a selfish reason to hear your thoughts through the lens of your car history and experiences. Maybe just a short feature on that car would be nice, especially since they are a little more attainable than what the air cooled market has evolved into. Keep the great content coming!
This was a nice video, thanks to both of you for doing the interview. I have the stage II on my 993, and after hearing the comments, sort of wish I’d chosen the stage III. My 981 Spyder has an insanely nice (loud) OEM exhaust. The stage II is awesome also, just could be a bit louder for my tastes. What an awesome American success story Darin!
Great interview! I bought a padkeeper for my 993 from Darin and liked it so much that I made a DIY video for it at th-cam.com/video/Ei7nWnnV7tc/w-d-xo.html Anyway again great video and interview. I appreciated all the video clips you cut in to show us what you guys were talking about. Cheers!

While doing my my research I really appreciated the time, and patience, that Darin spent answering my questions. My 997.1 sounds great!

I’m in the Houston area and Rudy is an icon. Very cool tap root story shared about his 964. This was a fun interview.

I enjoy this video on many levels
Thanks
Darin is so down to earth, great guy and true Porsche Enthusiast. I enjoyed the podcast.
Great interview! Have known Darin for a long time. He's a 'Stand-up' guy with an excellent product!
Thanks for the great content Will! You make Saturday morning cardio much more enjoyable haha cheers mate

All of my 911s have Fister Exhaust and pad keepers, too!
Great content and production. Yes, do more. Twenty min is the correct length.
Darin Fister is awesome! He hooked me up with a nice setup for my 996. I even happen to be wearing my FD Motorsports shirt while watching this. Great interview, I really enjoyed it!

It was a pleasure talking with you Will.
I love the Fister on my '03 996 !!! If I ever re-acquire my '86 it will get a Fister too.

Best Porsche exhaust for water cooled as well. Love the sound of mine!
So cool 👍
I have a set of stage 2’s about to ship from Darin for my 993 Cab. Wondering if I should have gone with the stage 3’s…
I would call him and chat about it. I’m sure he can recommend the right solution for you once he speaks with you.
Nice interview! I got on and bought the short shifter while I listened to it. Saving up for exhaust next.
Thanks! You’ll love it.

Great Job!
Thank you
Love my new stage 2 Mufflers no look for upgrades for Suspension do you have any suggestions?
Bilstein PSS10’s if you can find them.

Any insight into what sort of improvement on the hp with the fister stage 2 and 3?
Love the vid❤

Did you keep stock cats on the 993? I have stage 3 mufflers and no cats. I think it's too much.
Yup I did. My shop guy said next step is to do “cat delete x-pipe”
🇺🇸🇩🇪 Thanks Mark!
Air cool life 😎
Lol talked to Darin today, called and he answered.
Did he make an exhaust for your (since sold for a pricey sum) 69 911?
Negative.
his wheel/tire/stance setup is … DIALED. anyone have any info on sizes?
Harry Enfield is into Porsches, who knew? 😂
RUF: Am I a joke to you?

lol ok
talk take talk not more than that ! for a Porsche guy like me for 35 years very disappointing to watch a video like that,
