The thing that made the king of the swing great was it was more for fun than anything. Yes winning it was cool and getting the crown or trophy but it wasn’t for a PBA title. If you made the show, you earned it by either winning a title on one of the three shows or being the best qualifier who didn’t win (in this case 2 best) and no matter what you got extra $ for it. I think it was $10k for first but loser of match 1 would get $2k which is still essentially all your expenses for the trip
