In our tabloids today it says that William and Kate doubted Meghan even before meeting and told the staff they doubted her and when a staff complained of bullying William said it's the truth because he thinks Meghan has an agenda. So there is two sides to it all. By the way as you are aware , the royal consigned to let our royal advisors talk about them but only in a negitive way. Sometimes, you have to show yourself compassion as well. If a family member is triggering past unhealed trauma, then maybe it is better to remove yourself from interactions that are just too depleting. Just because these people are public figures does not mean that they can deal with negative family members any better then anyone else.

Dr. G. makes really good points for most of his video. I’ve seen Dr.G’s videos on narcissism, and based on some of that info, I could see a connection between statements made by Megan’s father, and narcissistic behavior. Sometimes, a person has to break free from narcissistic behavior from family members, and it appears that may be what Megan did. It’s hard to know what the full story is, but if Megan needed a break from her father after all the negative drama, it would be understandable.

the problem with this is that meme did in fact in I believe 2015 or 2016 in her blog The Tigg, say that she owes everything to her dad. She sounded like she completely adored her dad and thanked him for taking her to ballet and to his shows and expensive dinners. When meme was getting married to her 1st husband the groom said he was the family she never had... was said by h in his engagement interview as well. It was known that her mum was not involved in her upbringing for 10 years, Mr. Markle was main caregiver. Her Uncle on his side got her a job at the UN she never acknowledged him nor invited him to wedding nor went to his funeral nor sent sympathy note to the Aunty. she did not invite any black family and doria did not invite a companion to the wedding. so basically, a empathetic daughter with love in her heart would forgive small or even large things...afterall they do promote community, love and compassion on their site. so yeah, she is rotten to the core. also to note that the photographer name on the pictures is the same person that is employed to do some of meme own pap work

True- but if I can keep myself away at a safe distance it’s the best way to personally ( psychologically and emotionally) grow myself. We grow by working through our buttons. I don’t think Megan should be black mailed into talking to her dad. That’s exploiting her right there. She told him she feels used when he uses her to make money off of her exploitive publicity. I mean if she IS friends with him , what’s he Gona sell about her then. If he’s exploiting her NOW why would he change if she gives into him. He would no doubt be worse. Jerk thinks he owns her. I think that the problem with family is that the government plays a major role through the use of incentives to influence what a family is or isn't. A financial interest is playing the most significant role. There is also a financial interest in that which concerns family such as adoption, surrogacy, and sperm donating. It's as if a family can be manufactured ( a child conceived) in a lab and yet carry assumptions of purity of interest based on Romantic love whereas money is actually playing the primary role. This is why I am inclined to believe that blood relatives are important to take primacy when we speak of family. Let us not forget: children are usually considered to belong to the mother in any event which undermines the very idea that a family is an organization based on some special substance or another.

Some people don't deserve even sporadic contact. My dad was making me feel awful even tho we exchanged messages only few times a year. If someone spews insults everytime they open their mouth and then gaslight you or say it's for your own good to take their 'crticism' it's just not worth it... I'm feeling much better having zero contact, it's not lazy or unkind, it's assertive and self caring. Toxic people can blame themselves on their loneliness, and taking their sh*t is not kindeness- it's being stuck in a toxic relationship and I wish bravery to escape it for everyone in situation like that. There are no perfect parents and most children have to set some boundaries as they grow up like I had to with my mom who tried to dress me even after I left the country. Such things can have middle grounds unlike where one side loves to verbally abuse the other side. "yea, lets have one session of verbal abuse every two months interchanged with one normal conversation?" Meghans father couldn't fake being a loving dad even for a single interview. I'm pretty sure mine is not capable of a simple chat not even mentioning any exchange of ideas or views. There is no middle grounds with narcissistic, abusive simpletons who would totally be incels but unfortunately got laid, and became parents...

It is REALLY draining establishing/maintaining boundaries with boundary violators, so I kinda sympathize with Meghan here. You can't choose your parents but you can choose how much access they have to you. If he didn't have the title of "father" and was a friend who was behaving this way, no one would be analyzing if she should have cut him off or not. Should parents have special privilege's to betray and exploit you? 🤔 Anyway, that purple plant is adorable

I was partially in agreement with you until you got to the end. "What is the true nature of compassion? To only be kind to those who are perfect, or to reach out to those who are flawed?" I disagree. Sometimes the most compassionate thing you can do, is completely let someone go. When all they are doing is hurting you, stomping boundaries and disrespecting you, it is far less compassionate to the both of you, to let that contninue.

@@reedriter You can feel compassion for a person AND distance yourself. I have an older sister who is the most toxic person I have ever known. At my wedding, she cornered me and snarled, "Well, I guess you think you've got your whole life figured out." This relationship ended many years ago, and I would never consider seeing her for any reason or even go to her funeral. But over the years, I hate her less and less, and I pity her more and more. I do feel a degree of mercy for a person who is so utterly bankrupt. My mother later told me she was wildly jealous of my getting married, when she was single all her life. I'm not big on the current fad of "you must forgive him or you will be consumed with anger and it will destroy you". I have not forgiven her because the things she said and did will NEVER be OK. But, I DO feel genuinely sorry for her because the life she has chosen has left her entirely alone - she has driven everyone else away. But feeling some pity for her has actually taken a lot of her power away in my mind. BTW, this happened over MANY years, and only after five years of therapy. Changes like this can't be rushed or even consciously chosen - it's a process that slowly becomes known to you, like a dawning.

@@TomikaKelly one interesting article I've read, written by a close friend of the Markle family, said that Meghan was her father's favorite child. He affectionately called her "Bean" and made sure that she had everything she needed and most of what she wanted. She claims that she paid her own way through college, but it's not true. Her dad paid for it all. I don't know her or her family personally, but it seems as though she was spoiled by her parents. Whatever, it's all so sad. She allegedly dumped Jessica Mulroney, her longtime bestie, once she became a Duchess. All I know is that she bald-faced lied about her passport, the private wedding 3 days before the public one and that she trashed Prince Charles after he walked her partway down the aisle. Not to forget that the royal family paid millions upon millions for the lavish wedding! I'm sure that taxpayer money also paid for some of it. If she really wanted to be Diana #2, she would have done her duties without complaints as Diana did. Diana continued royal engagements after her divorce from Charles!! She had said that country and duty were the most important things after her children. I think that Meghan didn't realize that Charles held the purse strings and that he wasn't a multibillionaire with unlimited funds. She deceived Harry into believing that she was passionate about charity and was comfortable about carrying out her royal engagements for charitable organizations. Harry even said, during their engagement interview, that he didn't have to worry about her carrying out works for charity since she had experience with it and was passionate about it like he is.
Again, I don't know her. I only know what I hear about her through the media. I also believe that Prince William saw something shady about Meghan and it was why he advised Harry to slow the courtship down. William may have strung Catherine along for 10 years, but he made sure that she was prepared for the mundane and stressful life of a royal. Look at how his wisdom paid off! Kate is a great part of The Firm and a wonderful supportive, equal partner to William. It's also easy to see how much he loves her and vice versa. 😊❤

Could Harry and Meghan have done things differently? Of course. The way they stepped back from being working Royals was messy and left many issues unresolved with the Firm. It will be a long time before all of it calms down, especially with the way they are choosing to move forward as it ostracizes much of the royal family. Likewise Thomas and Samantha could have chosen not to repeatedly speak to the press for years. Having one's parent publicly state that their daughter is unfit to live the life she has now while simultaneously claiming to know the very personal inner workings of the Firm hasn't done Thomas any favors. He hasn't seen Meghan since before she married Harry, and every time he goes on to another talk show makes it harder for their to be a healthy resolution.

He paid for her private education and College. (Meghan has stated that she had worked her way through, which was untrue; this is why Mr Markle has hung onto the financial records as proof. It must have contributed to his eventual bankruptcy.)

If this is what he does in public, can you imagine how he behaves in private? No good parents make public comments about what their child owes them. To me he’s not just imperfect, he’s abusive. That said, I believe Meghan's father should have kept his mouth shut and not aired the problems he, the royals, Harry and Meghan were having, let alone get paid for it.
All of this should have been dealt with privately.

Megan was never close to her father, they had a rocky relationship before Harry. And Harry has been beefing with his brother for years, due to William being prepped for and embracing his place as future King. Harry is still close to the Queen, they even named their daughter Lilibet, the Queens childhood nickname that only Philip called her and apparently the Queen loved it. Also they adore Megan’s mother. It might seem like they’re suddenly isolating themselves, but I believe that once they had children they just couldn’t continue without boundaries from certain people. And now those people are lashing out because they’ve been 1) called out and/or 2) cut off. The way these people are reacting is enough to let me know that Megan and Harry made the right decision for their family.
My mum had to do this when I was around 12 because she couldn’t let me get damaged by the same people who damaged her. She got the same backlash from her family. Now that I’m 25 & thriving, those same people are talking about how I’m not grateful to them because my mum never taught me about them and all they did for her. Meanwhile they’re really struggling mentally and so are their kids. I was 12 and I remember how toxic they were. My mum worked with my dad and her kids to make sure we’re okay. She put in the effort to make us who we are. Yet they keep yapping and wanting to take credit for her accomplishments. The people that my mum did keep around act like true family, even if they don’t like us.
People who only use others for gain will always lash out when they can’t exploit someone anymore.

I agree. Having come from a toxic family dynamic myself, I know how hard it is to break from that I couldn't imagine how it would be while the world was watching and reporting on every moment of it.
Could Harry and Meghan have done things differently? Of course. The was they stepped back from being working Royals was messy and left many issues unresolved with the Firm.
I do hope that they can all heal, but I imagine it will take time.

Some corrections. The tension between the brothers started when William advised Harry not to rush things with Meghan. The Queen loved Prince Philip calling her Lilibet but that doesn't mean she likes Meghan and Harry using it. The BBC reported that the Queen's permission wasn't sought. H&M threatened to sue, claiming that they had, but the BBC refused to back down. The palace hasn't confirmed H&M's claim. H&M also claimed that Lilibet was introduced to the Queen via Zoom. A palace insider has denied it.
Harry doesn't "seem' to be isolating himself from his family. He has. He's undermined his family with those Oprah interviews. And that means that Archie is also cut off from his extended family - cousins, uncles, aunts etc. That's Harry handing down "genetic pain" to Archie. And, as Dr Grande pointed out if he and Meghan's relationship doesn't last then Harry is left without a support system.
