I have had one for a couple weeks now, it shifts nice going up hills and on flat land, but you really need to watch it going downhills. Be very aware what gear you are in, as it likes to downshift and over rev the motor. I found it works best to put it in manual mode, in the gear I want to come down the hill in. And remember it drops a gear when you turn on the engine brake, and 2 gears when you go max engine brake.
I have a 2017 T680 with a Eaton Fuller auto shift. I’m getting mid 7’s fuel economy averaging 70mph. I would buy another one but not a automatic transmission. Next one will have a 13 speed manual.
Peter Anderson I’m on the fence. Fixing to spec a T680. Always drove 13’s but got a Volvo sub with automatic and I’ll tell ya it’ll hold your speed up and down hill. I’m still on the fence but may try a automatic
I have a T680 with the 12 speed automatic and its terrible. I would never buy one as an O/O. I wish I could send an email to an engineer or manager explaining why its such a bad transmission compared to a manual.
detenator890 you can, send to KW and put c/o 680 transmission engineer, if you can't figure that out, I'm not sure I'd take your advise about the truck.
@@benoitsoulieres9830 is that with an paccar engine? Ive heard so many bad reviews for paccar engines but only in the automatic engines. Im looking at a T680 with a paccar engine but 13 speeds manual
Bullshit the engine in the truck is a piece of crap...all electronic...I had one had it a,month and effort valve and ECM kept burning out..I went back to driving my 1991 379 Pete and my 1995 freightliner classic..both got mechanic engines...Detroit series 60 ..Pacar engines are not got engines I know from experience
There is no advantage. I was assigned a brand new one last week. Rough ride, loud cab. Inadequate storage in the cab. Washers won't even clean off a fresh bug. Mirrors are too short. The truck shakes while the cruise is in neutral. Came from factory with fuel guage not working. Many that we have been buying have spent a lot of time in the shop. On top of that, it only gets 7mpg. Gimmicks. This thing is a joke. Instead of enjoying my drive, I can't wait to get to my destination to get a break from the truck. It sucks bad. I'm going to ask to be taken out of the truck. My advice-get a Volvo.
MR. B How so? I've driven an auto for nearly 3 years and had no issues or dangers. A 2015 KW T680 and currently a 2018 Freightliner Cascadia. What "dangerous" things should I be looking for?
@@TheXSgtDaveX i love manual transmissions. automated bullshit is for lazy people. eaton 18 manual is the best transmission ever put into a truck. PERIOD
@@daddyeyez740 Considering you can control literally everything still yes. The autos in rigs are literally still manuals without a clutch pedal and stick. The weight ratings are also higher because they have surpassed manuals. Got my license on an 18 speed. So driving one isn't a problem. It's just not MY preference

Update the grill
Always wanted to drive one when I was a driver. Had to settle for the Peterbilt, was a great truck, but not the same..
I love it

I want to go to America to study car repair tips, please help me. that's my dream. by 2020
Really cool tech...
Great trucks.... but....need a nicer steering wheel and Paccar needs a hot Motor
This might be the engine where you are looking for: th-cam.com/video/NeDvNjfwWF8/w-d-xo.html

detenator890 yeah, Eaton fuller makes much better automatics than paccar. Even in Europe, thier DAF brand has a bad rep with thier automatics

Take my money 💰
They're nice, the only problem is, DEF sucks, too much problems with it, lights come up easily!

Would not buy paccar drivetrain truck
Get cummins instead or even freightliner
Automatic transmission garbage trucks, I own a 2018 10 speed automatic I regret buying it, I prefer 13 Eaton fuller, no problem
