So freaking true! All the ads and videos made Etsy seem so dang easy. And I mean sure, things get easier but there is so much to learn if this is your first business.
True words of wisdom and inspiration. You are 100% correct about time and ego. Sometimes we just need to really focus on the big picture and what is truly important. Thank you for the great content!
Very few honestly! Usually around less than 1% of sales, the main thing to takeaway too is that if u don't refund these customers (without a guarantee) you run the risk of losing your shop because you don't need that many cases at the same time for Etsy's AI to flag your store
@@ahmadfakhrullah6381 For sure! Got a video coming up soon that shows how it literally 2X:ed my conversion rate within the same month by just implementing a guarantee
The most precious in your videos is advise you give. I rather see more of your videos without any editing ( so it is eisier for you to make a new one) , but having more videos like that, There are not many videos witg actionable advice, so if you keep doing videos with your actionable advice, it owuld be great
I might actually in some videos going forward! I try to keep this channel mainly focused on my business venture but who knows, maybe some music stuff and that journey will fit here too :)
What product would you recommend to start ? Can you give advice on POD only or also on some other creative stuff, like for artists ,for example? THank you
I have made a video about that before but if I were to start in 2025 I'd start with t-shirts and make my whole shop only tshirts. If you sell through Printify you can also ensure to offer their express delivery option which will make the customer be able to get their shirt in a couple of business days, I think that'd be a great value proposition if I had no reviews and started over from scratch today. When it comes to the creative stuff I'd recommend to set that aside and only focus on commerce here if the goal is to build a thriving business. Commerce is one thing and art is another, doing as an outlet for art will usually takeaway from the commercial aspect in this regard
Hi Andreas! Great video! Could you help me with an advice please? I've been on etsy for 1 month, and I am thinking that I should run some etsy ads. Do you think I should wait more? I am also trying to create more listings as i only have 6 at the moment. I know it's little, I used to have more but I deactivated them cuz I created too many listings with the same mistake 😅
Glad you like the video! I see, it's hard to say right off the bat but it's important to take some metrics into account. If your conversion rate is lower than 4% then it can be easy to lose money on ads as the listing probably isn't that optimised yet. Because if you get a lot of traffic but doesn't convert that traffic, that will just lead to a big cost for you instead. Hopefully that brings some clarity to the situation!
I've been trying to fix my shit for 11+ months now but nothing is happening. I don't know what else to do. By the way-- an unrelated question: did you disclose in your shop your location? My reason for asking is that I want to know if US buyers are okay that your shop is not in the US.
Gotcha, in that case I think the most important thing is to reflect and iterate. The question is the most important thing, what can be done better? What has gone right and what has gone wrong? And then from there you can iterate and improve going forward. As I don't wanna out my own shop I won't be able to answer that question, hope you understand
Everything is sound advice except for the prioritization thing. And I get it might have been an off the cuff example and not necessarily what you really feel, but it can come across a bit tone deaf to think people aren’t prioritizing creating an Etsy store because they’re doing “leisurely” things. I know there’s this whole notion coming from money makers and Wall Street execs that love putting the blame back on laypeople for their own failures to thrive, but I’m not as cynical. People are washed out. They’re exhausted. Twelve hour work days 5-6 days a week, coming home to kids and up-keeping a household while worrying about their finances. That level of modern-slavery is what’s keeping people down. The body just can’t put out more energy than it was built to create.
I hear you, if that's the situation then it's definitely not leisure time that's being cut out so I do hear your point. I always myself try to see it from an optimistic angle because the reality of that life is like you're saying. But with an optimistic attitude you can make it work and get out of the rat race. One thing that I did to build up my energy when I worked a 9-5 was to always ensure to train. Either in a gym or by running, that always elevated my energy levels and the point I'm mainly trying to get across is that we're all in different situations that can seem very daunting at times. But the way we choose to look at the situation is ultimately one of the most powerful things that can shift our situation over time.

100%! It takes a lot of reps, reflection and iteration to get going with it and it's for sure an endeavour that needs time and care in order to grow
Content I didn't expect. But I definitely needed.
Love it :)

Exactly! Prioritisation is so important, glad you liked the video and dropped this comment :)
Great advice!
Glad it was valuable to you! :)
Thanks Andreas, ☘☘☘
Thank u for being here! =)
Since you provide product guarantee / Return & refund. Curious to know how many refund cases u have periodically, for example per month?

@ as expected. Unhappy customer isnt good. Product guarantee can be an effective sales conversion tool.

Awesome advice! I've heard and felt that myself about my videos so I will try to scale down the editing going forward, simplicity is the key for sure!
Good video
I appreciate it! 🙏
