Mine should arrive soon. You have peaked my interest and I want to thank you for your contributions to the ham community. This will likely become one of my most treasured possessions.
I hope this is the way forward for open source hardware projects - if every such project could land a supplier like these two, there'd be a whole lot more trust to go around. Kudos to Yang and Chen for getting everything right.
I just got one of these from Aliexpress- I will let you know how it goes. Mine also came with a 1 page instruction for the oled mod and the toroidal winding
This is really great to see as I'm anxiously tracking my shipping id as it moves slowly from China to the US. I greatly appreciate the time, effort, and dedication you've put into this project.
very good i been looking at this radio (aka knockoff) until i found you your video Chinese copy uSDR vs original uSDX Sandwich. Thank to that video I started looking at all the usdr radio now in in the USA I have some groups and forums that would benefits this kit also i wonder if you may know of a KITS 50w or 100W SSB linear HF Power Amplifier that is will work with your radio see this will be in an EMP poof box
This is a great little radio ... do you have any plans to integrate a gps in it ? ... something like the PSDR2 that was developed as a kickstarter project a very long time ago ...
Really nice. Now if we could get the RF board with the proper SMD caps to have the "Classic" band set up as a kit (or the "high" band set up as another option), that would be cool. I'm very impressed withthe group buy build that Faraaz built for me but I have to admit that I would love to have one of these set up for the "classic" or the "high" band filter system too . . . For that fabled future day when the bands above 20m "come back" to life ;-) . . . All in all, this is a sweet little radio, Manuel. I've had quite a lot of fun and QSOs with mine. . . . Was this unit from DIY Tech? I ordered an assembled unit from them this week. Just curious if it is the same supplier... 73, Keith, WB2VUO in Amherst, NY
@@dl2man : Yep. That's the link I followed. I ordered the assembled orange cased model, and provided my call at their request. Just waiting for the reply from them upon shipping. Looking forward to getting the rig! 73, Keith, WB2VUO
I think I'm the only one who had no luck with this kit from China, mine after accurate assembly has no reception a week signal on 20 CW, only noises and beeps, I've redone the SWR toroid, but it remains absolutely deaf, I was struggling to assemble it like a child.
Hi, try to find some help in your local HAM Community. There´s always a guy, that knows how to troubleshoot. And join forum.dl2man.de to ask the community for help.
@@dl2man Hello Manuel , yes i try on the Next OV Abend :D on my DOK G11 , but at moment we dont have Live Meetings only over the Radio , 73 de DL5LB Giuseppe
I too got 2 extra 37-2 toroids, but my rig came from their first (no firmware) batch. That's not random chance. Perhaps the vendor has improperly instructed their employees on the correct number of red toroids per kit.
Received my rig yesterday -- from the Chinese source. (No serial number provided but it did have my callsign programmed) Made 10 SSB contacts in a contest today on 20M using the internal mike 🙂 Best DX was USA on 3 watts to an OCF dipole. This is going to be an interesting rig for my 'Portable Ham Radio with Camping' activities this year. There is a tendency for the rig to 'squeal' at me if I increase the audio gain beyond 11. Is this normal? Is there a way to 'tweak' this? I think this is a great project. I will also acquire a kit later in the year and build that -- right after I've built my OCX-mini 🙂 73 Bruce Dr.T(G4ABX)
Use external Active Speaker or Headphones. The "Squeal" is unfortunately "normal".... It´s a self resonance thing, probably microphonics of the QSD Capacitors. I hope you´re still having fun ! 73 Manuel; DL2MAN
Hi Manuel, I am keen to purchase the (tr)uSDX if you can please help. I live in Delhi and currently there are no ham clubs going for a group buy. Therefore, I would like to procure this lovely QRP as an individual directly from the seller. Kindly let me know if it is possible and the way forward. Thank you. 73 New Delhi
I really like your attitude about every aspect of this project. You are a credit to ham radio.

Got one of these on my desk right now. Trying to work up the confidence to assemble it.
Thanks for you taking such pains. It inspires confidence in your design and the sellers you approved of.
Wiedermal toller Überblick. Vielen Dank! Weiterhin viel Erfolg mit der Entwicklung.

Was impressed with my kit from them. I scraped the enamel off the wire while winding the ft37-43 toroids, otherwise, everything looked top notch.
The same thing with my 43 toroids.. but is high Quality kit.. 73 CX1GU

I didn´t test a Kit PA. I have yet to build QRP Labs 50W PA. I´m running a commercial PA along with it, if needed.

Hi, no, there´s no such Plans. It´s intended as a simple, yet affordable entry level shortwave Radio.
Dear friend, is relay self-induction protection implemented here? Is it worth shunting the relay with a 4148 diode?
No it is not, it´s bistable relays. The coil needs to see positive and negative Voltage in order to work properly.
@@dl2man Thanks for the answer!

There is only one approved supplier, that sells under different brand names. Check out: dl2man.de/where-to-buy-trusdx/

No, that´s on purpose they told me. They provide spares. It was the same on 2 Kits for Guido and my 2 Kits. So enjoy the spares ;)
