    You neglected to mention changing the anchor points of each shape before rotating. That's important, otherwise the shapes revolve around their own anchors rather than all shapes revolving around a central anchor point and the result is NOT what you are demonstrating.

    I like the ideas, the precision thing is triggering me though. You should use the align tool or the position to move them to the pixel

    how do you rotate the multiple shapes without them going different directions. I tried holding shift but it doesn't work

      He failed to mention centering the anchor points of the four shapes. Activate the Title/Action Safe grid, then using the center cross as reference, drag horizontal and vertical guidelines that cross at the Action Safe center mark. Turn SNAPPING on at the top menu bar. Then, COMMAND click the PAN BEHIND (Anchor Point) tool and drag the anchor point of each shape until it snaps to the cross hairs of the guidelines. Then, when you rotate the shapes, they all rotate around that center anchor.
