Actually, love and prefer these keyboards. Always gave me a "typewriter feel." I like getting the haptic-like feedback from the keys. Amazon and eBay actually sell these keyboards. I brought one called, Key-U-Can-See (for my aging eyes) and it gives that same "old school vibe." Feels like I'm really chugging away while at work. Of course, the noise can annoy others. ⌨️🤫🤭
I loved this game! Computer class in middle School 7th &8th grade early 1990's ! Man this brings back better days to mind... Thank you a million for this share my friend...
If it was an Apple //e Platinum, an apple logo would not be on the case. Instead, black text imprinted on the case that reads “Apple IIe” would be there.
That disk seek sound is sooo nostalgic to me. We had a bunch of apple II computers in my elementary school computer room and like 4 windows PCs. I had a windows PC at home so that was great but rhe Apple’s were always an enigma to me. Like how did it work with no GUI? blew my mind back then. Obviously I know now that they run on basic which was on its way out long before I saw it in the 90s but I always loved everything about those computers and still do!
Wow.. I haven’t set eyes on a pc that old since I was in grade school. I haven’t even seen one on TH-cam until this very video. I’m 37 now, but this just made me feel 7 years old for a minute …
If your childhood didn't consist of Oregon trail. You missed out.. they can try to replicate us with our clothes but IDK anyone that has a working, old-school Macintosh computer.. and kids nowadays would be so underwhelmed and be like, why the hell did you like this game? this is lame😂💯✌️

Played it before there were graphics. Such a great memory. My second or third grade class even played a non-computer version of this when only the text based version existed. Teams of three or four kids made up each wagon train. We played in turns. Up to a few per day. Had a large, hand-drawn map that was kept hidden behind the pull-down world map. When the teacher would reveal that map before the end of class was the highlight of my day. We even played a few more games with other themes that used huge maps. A gold rush game and a fantasy game (similar to d&d 0e).
It’s the floppy drive making sure it’s at track 0. Apple disk drives don’t have an optical sensor to determine where the read head is so, upon boot, it’s forced back to the end stop repeatedly just to make sure! One of Steve Wozniak’s brilliant cost effective work arounds!
@@ashtonsretrocomputerroom got ya, amazing sound for sure. I'm not familiar with Macs. Been a pc user my whole life lolz. If I need any help on a Macintosh I know who to ask now lolz. Thx for the reply 👍 awesome videos 📹 😊

We need a 2023 version of origan trail..
Definitely one of my favorite games in compter call in elementary school, then number munchers

In the late 90s?
You have no right to talk about age
By the late '90's we were playing Quake 2 on the internet.

I’m doing good with my small collection of 1995/2000 I’m balls deep in nostalgia everyday 💎❤️💎❤️

My childhood returns to me. ❤
My grade school had us play this game back in '85. Man, miss those simpler times. 😭

Lol like it was required to play it?
WOW didn't know it was that old 😮 remember playing it in 89 in 3rd grade lol

This was done on an Apple //e Enhanced, according to the small label that says “65C02” on the power indicator.

I remember these well! I used to write my friends notes on this type of computer during home room!
I love the background music, it's like opening a time portal to the 80's 😢
😄 I remember Oregon trail 😂 brings back so many memories 😢
One of favs when I was little kid, this Madeline, one must fall, and DUKE NUKEM were my favs on the Dell
Played the full color version in 1991 or 1992. Wow, seeing this takes me back.

This evokes very complicated feelings… mostly sadness.
The music is so depressing, and his old school look really makes you feel like you’re back in time 😂
Love your videos !! And the music

Why does every vintage keyboard all ways sound so well.
Man, I loved Oregon Trail days in school.
I miss this alot
Oh yeah brings back memories thank you!!!
This is something we played in the 5th grade. Brings back so many memories. I don’t think anyone ever made it successfully to the end.
If you were my teacher for high school I would love to visit a classroom like yours
Why does that type of music so well with that stuff, even though it's Frutiger Aero style!
even though i wasnt born around then i love the oregon trail
Reminds me of The Yukon Trail on win95!!
i remember playing this in 4th grade

My grandpa has a 90's Apple Quadra with floppy disks and CD roms.
my favorite childhood experience in elementary school in 1990.
The nostalgia!!! 😂
Ah. Just the sound of the drive gives me the feels.
I am so envious! Despite all of the fun and fancy games we have today, this is still one of my favorites. I miss it so much!

It's amazing how engrossing gaming in the 1970's was
The Oregon Trail was one of many educational games that I played in school back in the 1990s; the other being Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?.
Oregon trail is available now on Apple Store on Apple TV

Yes. Time machine back to school in the 80's. Oregon Trail, Print Shop, Bank Street Writer
Moment of silence for all the people to die of dysentery 🤫
I played a later version of this in 1st grade. I think it’s the same version as this one but with color. Little Timmy for me kept dying of dysentery
I would love to show my kids how to use the Apple IIe such great memories! Just can’t find one😢

For those who don't know, those floppy discs are single sided single density and hold 160k of memory. Yes kilobytes.
There was this math game called First man on the moon I used to play in Jr High School. I can never find it nowhere :(
R.I.P. Ashton...
Thanks for the content you are making, it brings me back into the much easier and more peaceful and carefree past.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Bet if IBM and Apple used all black or gray cases back in the day, their stuff today would still look new. Old PC housing yellowed like crazy.
Glad my expectations of death were met 😂
I just downloaded this game from the AppStore
