weirdly my moms dad loved eating goat, (LOL, no lie) it's popular in jamaican cooking with also cooking it up with browning sauce and scotch bonnets (same can be done with the ox tails, those oxtails looked horrifying though, they didnt look right, and if a meat isnt the pretty nice bright normal red color, i wouldnt pick it up. grey meat even if theres a smell to a meat, means it's going bad)

They dump Save A Lot stores in the hood like they are slick! Those type of stores have low quality foods that inflammation and sicknesses in the future. I know this is all some people can afford or can get but if anything don't eat meat from these stores.

yeah that irks me if i walk into a store (even if it's a grocery store) if it has a bad smell (especially) im just going to go ahead and walk out the door especially if it looks like they havent stocked up on anything and just keeping the place a mess and making it look like it's abandoned, beef tripe is the lining of a cow stomach (shudders) i dont like menudo, but they put that (the tripe) in that menudo soup. god i havent been to publix in years, i miss that place. with a big thing of pork loin (it's the Pork loin is a cut of meat from a pig, created from the tissue along the dorsal (back) side of the rib cage. i usually try to get a big thing of that pork loin and cut my own pork chops in it, and store them in freezer safe, storage bags. tenderloin of a chicken is just the breast cutted down to a smaller size. you can get a roast of beef and cut it into steaks too. (my mom taught me alot of this stuff im just grateful about that, she passed away in january this year (2024) you gotta make due with what you have and thats all you can do. which thats not a bad thing at all. 💕

I marinate it overnight then when I'm ready to bake it I pour a little chicken stock in the bottom of the pan, add the pork loin, season the top than wrap the top of the pan with aluminum foil and bake on a low temperature til cooked I also make homemade apple sauce to go with it. along with mash potatoes and gravy and veg .
Just a comment on the green beans pricing. The big DelMonte can was 1.19 for 28 oz. The brand you bought was 14.5 oz. 89 cents a can. You paid $1.78 for 29 oz (2 cans) The Del Monte was 1.19 for 28 oz. (1 can) You could have saved .59 Only showing you the difference because it’s very confusing. You did a great job navigating a very smelly store.👍
A lot of Save A Lot stores are privately owned by people that purchase the rights. It is best to go to a Save A Lot that is by the company and food stocked by the company. I found this out when I went to one which was horrible complained to the company but found out it was privately owned. So now I only go to the ones that the company/corporation own.
How come you just don’t go to a food bank/pantry, love? It actually helps, most times you can get a lot more than what you spent, even meat & diary. & depending where you live, they might have fresh veggies plus bakery items, etc.

Save a lot is disgusting but I remember my less than better days and having to shop there. The smell is ridiculous and I thought it was just where I lived. The food is old so watch the expiration dates.
I use to like save a lot but I very seldom go there anymore. I got 2 big packs of hamburger One was good and when I went to use part of the other pack a few days later when I laid it out to thraw out it was black. I haven't gotten any more meat there ever again.

That Save-a- Lot is just nasty. Ours that we had were clean. They always had the best deals. Everything is different now.
