African Farming Season 3 Episode 5: Keith and Jacqui Middleton (FULL EPISODE)

Keith and Jacqui Middleton have faced some tough challenges in 15 years of farming, but this has not weakened their determination to take their business to the top of the emerging commercial farming sector in the next ten years. The Middletons, whose farm African Joy is part of the Orange-Riet irrigation scheme near Jakobsdal in the Free State, farm with maize, lucerne and 10ha of pecan nut trees. They also run 150 Bonsmara cattle and 300 Merino sheep.

Beautiful episode love the family dynamic. However it was gut-wrenching to hear how African people are treated in an African country supposedly run by African people. But this is the illusion of owning your own farm, running your own country. The reality is you are only custodians of a European colony created in Europe and still called South Africa today.

Excellent episode.. interesting to note south Africa's land tenure system towards blacks.. correct me if I'm wrong but is it that indigenous black south Africans don't have customary rights over their land?
With Africa joys technical know how on commercial farming they could wish to explore being a agricultural foreign investor in a country like mine in which 90% of the land is owned by black indigenous customary land owners and the other 10% owned by our government.so our problem is that we have an abundance of land but not the technical know how on operating a large family commercial farm like Africa joys..we the black global community should explore our specific competitive advantages and work together
