I'm also a mid spender. I buy noble passes, pre-orders, monthly gazettes, growth passes and in some cases a few limited bundles. I have a pretty decent account set up with most of my heroes at S+ already except a few A ranks that need some attention. This whole Paragon buff thing is honestly frustrating. I can easily sit tight in the Top20 for Supreme Arena, but for next season? I might not even PvP at all, even if I enjoy it just as much as PvE.
Honestly, it won't really change much for us (also same spending level). There's only a couple ultra high spenders in my district, so I'll simply opt out of paragon levels and compete with other S+ players and ignore them. Actually, it's nice that we won't have to spend as much anymore :) SA they will be higher so they won't ever attack me, it's like they dont exist. And for regular arena, if they attack me I only lose like 1-3 points and they will attack others just as much anyway. We can easily pretend they don't exist and have fun getting new heroes rather than hyperinvesting into random comps just for paragon levels.
If they’re trying to make more money with this change, this seems a terrible way to do it. My guess is that most of their players are either mid/low spenders or f2p, whales likely make up a small amount of their player base. Revenue may mainly come from whales. I don’t obviously have their numbers of players or revenue though. This change encourages mid spenders and low spenders to just say eff it and either quit/spend far less/not spend at all. Mid and low spenders are usually budget constrained, we’re not going to become whales. You can’t push us to become whales (if that was their goal) by trying to dangle this carrot of higher paragons being more powerful in pvp. It discourages us using that mode or any of the other effects to our spending habits I already mentioned. It just makes no sense.
I completely agree with your points, Puzzle. As a mid-spender, I'm happy to give the game money, but the upcoming change to the Paragon system is making me reevaluate whether or not I should keep playing the game.
As a f2p who keeps himself in top 20 in the regular arena and peaked in top 10 in the supreme arena during this season, I agree with your analysis. One minor thing that I want to add is that at some point we are kind of forced to go for paragon instead of S+ing more heroes, because we are running out of acorns. So we will be slowly getting these P1 rosters, whether we want it or not.
I really hope this isn't going to be a trend in this game: New season > make some outrageous changes > backpadel on half of them > say you listened to community feedback to get both (part of) the changes and community appreciation by bootlickers who can't see what's actually happening.
My only real issue with what the devs have done is I think they went too far with the Intimidation, and Inspiration rivalry stats. Either reduce them to like 1% per paragon level, or do away with them altogether. The slight stat padding they've added between the paragon levels is fine though... just imo.
I’m a somewhat new player, low to moderate spender, and I’m really confused by these changes and the games direction. “Play How You Want” was something I had been hearing. PvP - you’re going to be impossibly outmatched by the heavy spenders. So don’t focus on PVP. AFK stages are now limited. So don’t focus on AFK pushing. Dream realm… dream real takes about 5 minutes. I enjoyed, “playing” the game. Now it’s going to be: Login, collect rewards, quickly do dailies, logout. The only “spice” is events. And they don’t come frequently enough IMO. It truly an AFK Journey… A passive hero collector rather than a competitive “game”. Unless you spend. Then the competition is who has the biggest wallet.
That is gacha games in a nutshell. Id still tell you to play however you like tho, and quit when you feel like it, the best way to play gacha games is to spend very minimum, so you dont feel like miss anything when you uninstall the game.
Like a new pvp gammode and make the reward only cosmetic or frame so whale can show off that they're are whale while f2p doesn't need to force to play and lose out anything.
Not playing PvP would be fine if they would stop making so many rewards and events PvP focused. It's something you will have to deal with unless you wanna fall even further behind.
right now, PVP isnt big deal anyways. Now, if they include more of guild wars content, then yes, PVP will be huge if they adjust the rewards for placements!
I'm a f2p player and I focused more on pvp. The reason is I find it more fun and I land in decent spots anyway in dream realm. This chance is making me consider quitting completely as I haven't that much interest in just doing dream realms, especially as supreme arena does give interesting rewards too
It was so exciting to beat high spenders over three teams in supreme arena, I even built Scarlita to that purpose and now I should wait 3 years and my first paragons 4 to do that again? Wow...
It was a sensation like no other defeating in arena a player with more power like you, or checking SA defenses and realizing your defense survive a P3 attack. It was good while it lasted.
That’s provided they don’t add more Paragon tiers… P10 would crush P4 if they allow paragon inflation, and I don’t see anything stopping them from doing that.
As an F2P, I didn't care about pvp enough to be furious about this change. On my server I consistently get 50-80th place on Dream Realm and sometimes in PVP. That's enough. It is what it is.
I'm not bothering with PvP, I sit extremely comfortably in top 100 and that is enough for me. However, based on last season, keeping my spending to a minimum this time around since I only care about being competitive in dream realm.
If from the first servers, a lot of whales around. I'm quite high in the position only thanks to wise investment and low/mid spends.. They are going to crush me...
I really hope the devs change/remove the paragon buffs for the new season I'm just a lightspender for this game and have enjoyed playing so far but if they are really confirming this paragon buff then I might leave this game midseason
"until my server rolls out the next season", why ? You are currently fighting and beating players with a way better character roster than you ? because if it's not the case there won't be change in rankings. most servers have less than 10 whales anyway (thought I don't know yours) But yeah sadly it will be harder to stay at the top compared to before if you were fighting players with higher paragons than your heroes.
It has been officially confirmed that the new Paragon stats STACK for each unit. That means intimidation and inspiration stack with every Paragon unit do you have. P1 unit has 7% intimidation/inspiration bonus P2 unit has 14% intimidation/inspiration bonus P3 unit has 25% intimidation/inspiration bonus P4 unit has 36% intimidation/inspiration bonus In team 5 heros × 7%= 35% P1 Game just dieing
mmm need to double check that and how it works, because that's kinda strange honestly. so having 4 P3 would mean if the opponet doesn't have have paragon heroes they can't heal or shield or gain energy ? nah clearly doubt it work like that.
Its actually kinda fine now, i think about it, only like the top 10 have P2 and above in my server so, yea everyone else is P1 and S+ so, i can manage, im already at top 20 either way, my servers good plus im in the top guild so, most guild members wont challenge me if i dont challenge them, so, great now i only have to worry about clashfronts.....
I am just interested in the new season storyline & completing it. I really don't bother with all.this other stuff. Alot gets reset at the end of the season anyways so why bother ? 🙃
Puzzle, thanks for analysis! To be fair pvp is already kinda boring and not rewarding enough from f2p perspective. I was able to get to top 5 both standard and supreme arena couple times, but it becomes progressively harder to keep up at least top 20. So I guess next season I'll just hang in top 100 standard and top50-top100 supreme.

To be real WHY should i or anyone even care about some GAME ever , i play it till its fun when they ruin it and its not fun anymore il just leave and play other game and i guess most ppl are doing that , cus at the end of the day its just another GAME that eventually we will all leave one day and play something else .... so chill and enjoy game if u like it guys and till you find it fun and fair when you dont ...dont stress just play something else
Best advice....just quit it Its "Pains for Eternity for f2p" lol Very nice way for the devs to start this new year.....just create a massive amount of negative impact in the community, goodluck with your game. It really was a near perfect game but greed just had to destroy that potential.

I often pair up Silvina and Vala in PvP by having them both attack the same hero. This strat actually works for me a lot. Should I paragon them together?
There is also a different approach possible and in my opinion optimal for f2p in order to beat all other f2p easy. You need to focus one A rank hero who is available to buy copies in Emporium and get it to the highest paragon possible. Imo the best choice is Odie, bc he is good for all content. But for the past 8 months we were doing things different since this approach was not meta. This also means f2p would play only Odie for the foreseeable future and meta will matter less than a general strategy, also and maby the most important gameplay will become really boring.

Can always pretend but any game with gacha and pvp is always going to be extremely p2w, even though you can say dream realm is not part of that because f2p can obtain the heroes it's just not really true, harak came out and i just only got him to mythic + recently probably a couple more weeks to supreme + so my ranking on a lot of bosses just went from top 20 to top 50. I just have to compare every game to warframe, no p2w aspects, unlock all yourself, tons of free content, free updates, obtain currency through trading, and whenever i do i dont even know why i start games like this. At this point ive spent too much time to randomly quit but maybe by the end of next season would have been enough for me to be done with it. Especially if it's another time where the first month or so is content filled and then the next 2 months is login to do dailies. Even worse that there is a whole server that sees' everything before anyone else so nothing feels new at all.
Never spent on the game and I'm still having a lot of fun building various heros. The update isn't gonna change anything to f2p players. The game is still a lot of fun.
I saw somewhere that the new update patch notice says that double stages are confirmed removed from afk stages and proxy can be done before stage defeat
@@smolcatdayz9054 hm its true that it's annoying having to do two fights, but I kinda like building two teams... building different teams is the whole point of the game. I wonder if there isn't a better solution, like maybe giving extra rewards for not using the same heroes over and over or some energy mechanic like on battle drills or smth.
I sit comfortably in top 30 in arena, top 80 in SA, as a light spender. This also hurts me I think, only just now getting paragon heros after 10 months of play so anyone spending a little more shall now shove me right out
That's why I'm not gonna spend a single cent on this game anymore -_- as a dolphin, I could barely beat the top ranked and stay in top 20, now I'm gonna be out of that rank probably.
So, random question, I can never remember which hero frame is which, and can't remember from looking at them which Paragon is which. Anyone got pictures of them, as I can't find them on ascension guides I've looked at? We have one whale with Paragon above 1 characters on our server, but I'm not sure how far above. They also play well, and are unbeatable now, so no change on our server with the changes, though probably harder to get top 5 in Supreme Arena, not that I previously managed that more than a few times a season.
Hello :) Quick question, with the Ravaged Realm rewards, we can get the item to upgrade a weapon from lvl15 to 25. Using it on Odie is a good option ? Or is there better F2P friendly heroes who benifits most of this item ? (I already have LM and Pesto at +25 already - was considering Tasi or Bonnie for +25 but Odie is used for DR and with the paragon update, i have no hope for pvp...)
I recall Odie always being important during pre-Endless Dream Realm, so I think you are safe to do that after LM and Pesto. Smokey is the other competitive option, I think.
I quit this game after harak was released and i realized just how hard they were going to cater to whales. I still check in from time to time and whooo boy im glad i got out when i did. When half the video is telling people to try to dial back on pvp a bit you know the game is in a bad place.
I'm a mid-spender with 20 P1 heroes. I'm happy with the rank I'm going to get in PvP. Still enjoying the game. It's not the end of the world since PvP rewards are just not worth stressing about.

I absolutely disagree, telling that you should ignore PvP is a silly joke that only demonstrates that their decision is terrible. This game has 3 PvP game modes: Arena, Supreme Arena and Clashfronts, and more PvP modes are coming during 2025. Ignoring all of this means losing parts of the game, losing the fun, and that means this change is horrible. Whales are already at the top, they are not going to be any higher. They are only going to see how the people below them starts quitting, lol
Not necessarily, you can still have fun in PvP just by pretending they don't exist. If top 3 players on your district have paragon heroes, you can simply consider 4th rank as number 1 for you, and compete with players at your spending level. It's pretty easy to tell who's on your league just by looking at account power.
@@MrPecman I understand what u say, was just saying that pple shouldn't play pvp ona gatcha if they're f2p ( btw, i'm one of them), it's always p2w and unhealthy for us ( imo ). Lilith show greed from day one, and they juste keep making more greddy moove, that for sure. And when i say shouldn't care about pvp, what i mean is compet for the very top, u can still enjoy it and play it to get decent amount of reward, but yeah, trying to compete for the top of the top on pvp in a gatcha, as f2p, it's just impossible because it's a part of gatcha made for whale, and every f2p playeur need to be aware of that. The paragon change won’t even hurt f2ps, it will hurt dolphins and light spenders. The buff pretty much gave heroes 2 skills/passives that is hidden within a paywall. I don’t really care for pvp. I have reached top 20 once and that’s enough for me as an occasional spender.
It would've been ok after the change of the seasonal talent tree, that was the main issue of pvp balancing. They just had to go the extra mile to break the game with this garbage stats.
Don't worry folks. My prediction is that when they release the new Play How You Want (new game mechanism to collect resources as stated in the dev note), F2P players would compete with each other in F2P modes like Honor Duel, Arcane Labyrinth, new F2P game modes etc. and to some extent Dream Realm. PVP would be the land of spenders predominantly.

it depends on the district and server honestly, in my server, no whale even has a p3 hero, most stops at p1

it was necessary to make 1 lvl paragon with maximum gain and reduce the gain of subsequent paragons. they should have done it the other way around lol

how do you get into the Vietnamese server?

Without the developer's stunts people were leaving, now there will be people leaving left and right.

Never spent on the game and I'm still having a lot of fun building various heros. The update isn't gonna change anything to f2p players. The game is still a lot of fun.
Have we been able to confirm yet if they removed double stage afk stages?
I saw somewhere that the new update patch notice says that double stages are confirmed removed from afk stages and proxy can be done before stage defeat

@@smolcatdayz9054 hm its true that it's annoying having to do two fights, but I kinda like building two teams... building different teams is the whole point of the game. I wonder if there isn't a better solution, like maybe giving extra rewards for not using the same heroes over and over or some energy mechanic like on battle drills or smth.
I sit comfortably in top 30 in arena, top 80 in SA, as a light spender. This also hurts me I think, only just now getting paragon heros after 10 months of play so anyone spending a little more shall now shove me right out
That's why I'm not gonna spend a single cent on this game anymore -_- as a dolphin, I could barely beat the top ranked and stay in top 20, now I'm gonna be out of that rank probably.
Not a fan of paragon changes.
So, random question, I can never remember which hero frame is which, and can't remember from looking at them which Paragon is which. Anyone got pictures of them, as I can't find them on ascension guides I've looked at? We have one whale with Paragon above 1 characters on our server, but I'm not sure how far above. They also play well, and are unbeatable now, so no change on our server with the changes, though probably harder to get top 5 in Supreme Arena, not that I previously managed that more than a few times a season.
TLDR: If you're f2p forget pvp ever in the game.
The advice should be: why are you playing a gacha game and trying to be competitive if you're not going to spend a penny?

Quick question, with the Ravaged Realm rewards, we can get the item to upgrade a weapon from lvl15 to 25.
Using it on Odie is a good option ? Or is there better F2P friendly heroes who benifits most of this item ? (I already have LM and Pesto at +25 already - was considering Tasi or Bonnie for +25 but Odie is used for DR and with the paragon update, i have no hope for pvp...)
I recall Odie always being important during pre-Endless Dream Realm, so I think you are safe to do that after LM and Pesto. Smokey is the other competitive option, I think.
The item is for +20 to +25 only but yeah odie is good

kinda strange change. what players are happy about this paragon changes? i can imagine even whales would prefer the old system.
I quit this game after harak was released and i realized just how hard they were going to cater to whales. I still check in from time to time and whooo boy im glad i got out when i did.
When half the video is telling people to try to dial back on pvp a bit you know the game is in a bad place.
Its weird how they make endgame focus for f2p is dream realm instead of pvp like other games.
I'm a mid-spender with 20 P1 heroes. I'm happy with the rank I'm going to get in PvP. Still enjoying the game. It's not the end of the world since PvP rewards are just not worth stressing about.

I've played it since April last year and I've spent about $1200 and what to show for is 11 p1 not even close to getting to P2.

I absolutely disagree, telling that you should ignore PvP is a silly joke that only demonstrates that their decision is terrible.
This game has 3 PvP game modes: Arena, Supreme Arena and Clashfronts, and more PvP modes are coming during 2025. Ignoring all of this means losing parts of the game, losing the fun, and that means this change is horrible.
Whales are already at the top, they are not going to be any higher. They are only going to see how the people below them starts quitting, lol
Not necessarily, you can still have fun in PvP just by pretending they don't exist. If top 3 players on your district have paragon heroes, you can simply consider 4th rank as number 1 for you, and compete with players at your spending level. It's pretty easy to tell who's on your league just by looking at account power.
@@MrPecman I understand what u say, was just saying that pple shouldn't play pvp ona gatcha if they're f2p ( btw, i'm one of them), it's always p2w and unhealthy for us ( imo ). Lilith show greed from day one, and they juste keep making more greddy moove, that for sure. And when i say shouldn't care about pvp, what i mean is compet for the very top, u can still enjoy it and play it to get decent amount of reward, but yeah, trying to compete for the top of the top on pvp in a gatcha, as f2p, it's just impossible because it's a part of gatcha made for whale, and every f2p playeur need to be aware of that. ( srry for my english, not my first langage ).

The paragon change won’t even hurt f2ps, it will hurt dolphins and light spenders. The buff pretty much gave heroes 2 skills/passives that is hidden within a paywall. I don’t really care for pvp. I have reached top 20 once and that’s enough for me as an occasional spender.
It would've been ok after the change of the seasonal talent tree, that was the main issue of pvp balancing. They just had to go the extra mile to break the game with this garbage stats.

Don't worry folks. My prediction is that when they release the new Play How You Want (new game mechanism to collect resources as stated in the dev note), F2P players would compete with each other in F2P modes like Honor Duel, Arcane Labyrinth, new F2P game modes etc. and to some extent Dream Realm. PVP would be the land of spenders predominantly.
