Tanning is one of those skills that has always sparked my interest. I did try tanning some rabbit skins a few years ago but I could not manage the process timing properly thanks to work commitments. Well that's changed now so I will have to have another go when it cools off a bit. Summer here now. Thanks for sharing the knowledge.
@@LtFrankDrebbin man i have ruined so many hides because something came up during the process and i wasnt there to get the next step in time or forgot about it. You need 3 days of no obligations to make it happen really
ive used it on a buffalo and a fox squirrel. either i suck at it or a chrome tan is better lol had decent luck with chrome but the orange bottle dont call for pickling in the instructions. might make all the difference
I had a ant that's country talk a aunt back in the 60 s that had a pet ground hog that she caught as a baby it was just like a dog after it got used to you
Howdy Justin: I had a thought, maybe not worth a plug nickel, but a thought just the same. How about stuffing a truck inner tube inside the hide, then hooking it to an air hose and inflating it to about 80+ Pounds. Not sure how it would work, but it might save you some effort? You'll probably need to fool with the pressure to get it useful? I can't see WHY that wouldn't work? The fire fighters use those inflatable air bags to lift cars, so the force would be there. Good luck. God bless: Two Feathers
That smile on your face said it all, I prayed you would find Jonah, just knew it would turn up, probably missed you too.❤😊
That's a great tip on using the stick to pry the skin against the upright one. I'll have to give that a try. Thanks!

Have you ever tried extracting tannins from wood, such as oak? Old-school method.
Personally, I have never, but I hear it works good .
