    Wow! I hope you see this response so many months after you posted this video. I have been taking astropics for years and never seem to be able to combine all the separate steps you show in this video. After using your editing steps on a picture I had taken of the Crescent Nebula, I was able to edit the way I always knew was possible, but could never do. After following along with this video my final edited picture - while needing further tweeks - came out the way I wanted but was unable to do before seeing this video. Thank you very much for taking the time to post this. I had seen your videos time to time but will now subscribe to your channel.

    Very cool video. Helena! This is some nice data. Thank you for sharing and thank you for the tutorial. I got some okay results with PS but I've never really been a big fan, even for my regular photography. I know it's not in the spirit of the exercise but I'll take a swing at this with PI.

    Really Well done Helena. Easy way and nice tempo. It will be better when you say everytime you select a tool or button, maybe even twice. The problem on most of tutorials on Yuotube is that the makers can’t think like a beginner anymore after using the tools them selfe for years. If you have a beginner with you you will have much help when they ask ”what button did you push” all the time.

      @@HelenasAstrophotography That only what I saw when was beginner, or Im still beginner but sometimes it helps when the teachers says the name what to push. You could even attach a text bar of the name and tool. What makes your tutorials already better than others is that you smile all the time and speak clearly. 👍

    A really great tutorial Helen. A bit different to what I’ve followed from other tutorials. Starnet++ is really good now and I always use it. There are some very useful tips to take away from this. I think your approach is very good, easy to follow and at the right tempo. The result is great. Thank you for sharing 👍

      It's so frustrating! That's what I love about Pixinsight. Even though it is a big investment at first, it ends up being so much cheaper than paying monthly for the Photoshop license.

    Hi Helena, we met briefly at the 'November 2022 Star Camp' in Galloway - little did I know at the time you were such a star! I love your channel and I've found your PhotoShop Tutorials very helpful (I don't have PixInsight). I was wondering if you could tell me which camera, telescope and filter you used for each of the Veil and Heart Nebulae tutorials. In addition, how did you stack the Heart Nebula and which method did you use for separating the stars from the Veil nebula to get a 'stars only' layers. I do know the main techniques using StarNetV2 but I'd just like to know how you did it. Finally, what was the Bortle number of the location where you shot these. Any help would be appreciated. Best Wishes, Martyn.

    • @martynjones211
      @martynjones211 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I've found most of the answers by checking out your other videos in your excellent channel. I guess you took them both from your Bortle 2 garden using a 294mc Pro camera and L-eNhance filter. You probably used the Esprit 120 ED for the Veil and maybe the ED80 with a reducer for the Heart. Did you stack them both in DSS and separate the stars in StarNetV2 or did you use PixInsight?

    • @HelenasAstrophotography
      @HelenasAstrophotography  ปีที่แล้ว

      Martyn, I am so sorry for my late response! It was so lovely to meet you at Star Camp and I hope we meet again at the next. For the Veil I actually used the 80ED and cropped the image in. I also used the 80ED for the heart with a reducer. Both images were stacked in DSS - I am not brave enough to stack in Pixinsight yet - haha!! As for star separation, that was done using Starnet in Pixinsight. I haven't downloaded version 2 yet so it was just the original. Hope this helps!

      No- You need to use something like deep sky stacker to get to this point.

    • @HelenasAstrophotography
      @HelenasAstrophotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there! Great question. The image I am editing in this video is already stacked. You would need to stack your images in Deep Sky Stacker beforehand. Photoshop is solely for processing after stacking. Hope this helps!
