Have I missed something here? You don't get done for "fraud" if you accidentally mis-report something as missing in the aftermath of being mugged. Even if you find it but forget to tell them - it's still not fraud. If, however, you were to make up the whole thing - that might get you done...

No one believes the ''mugged'' story ....the police sussed she was wasting police time to make an insurance claim.
I'm trying to understand this clearer as well. If this was an honest mistake, and even if she forgot to make the police aware she found the phone, why was she charged with fraud? I am asking a genuine question here, as it does not seem that many people are asking/answering that question. Ignorance on my part, so I'm hoping light can be shed.

All the commentators complaining about this are truly thick as shit. A 22 year old girl gets mugged in London and mistakenly reports her phone as stolen. After finding the phone she goes ahead and informs the police it wasn’t stolen and in doing so gets charged with fraud.
