    This is a great video, and the cicadas chirruping in the background adds a healthy layer of Southern Gothic authenticity. Keep up the sick work!

    I need to say while the painting was badass specially the checkers. I think the color pallet could use more oranges to evoque the Mr Blanche paintings.

    • @iPaintSmallThings
      @iPaintSmallThings  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks m8! Maybe the orange could come from heavy rust (I could have probably pushed the rust more)? I'll keep that in mind going forward.

    So, love the models, love your conversions, love your paint job.
    But Blanchitsu isn't really just about worn and grimdark. It's a certain limited color palette - black, white, yellow ochre, and red - basically the Zorn palette. Very warm. While also still being grimdark and worn and dirty

      @iPaintSmallThings  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I appreciate it! That's fair enough and good to know. I'll have to revisit this and use the Zorn palette sometime!

    These look great. Out of curiosity which game are you using these for?

    • @iPaintSmallThings
      @iPaintSmallThings  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      haha I guess my thought was using them as Grey Knights in 40k (strike squad). Their shields would represent the extra toughness. BUT I'm open to other games, too.

    • @looselycollected7505
      @looselycollected7505 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wasn't sure what you were going for. For all I know you could have just been building them because you wanted to and had no plans to play anything with them. I do like the look of them. I know it seems like a lot of people are using rules from One Page Rules in place of 40K these days. And the shields could either be breacher shields like those prevalent in the 30K timeline or they could be Storm Shields in modern 40K. I watched both of your Blanchitsu videos because I'm getting ready to detail and paint two regiments I've built to play Turnip28 with.

    • @iPaintSmallThings
      @iPaintSmallThings  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@looselycollected7505 haha well part of it is they are cool minis and I wanted to paint them. I'll have to check it out! I've heard a lot of good things about One Page Rules games. I really appreciate it! haha I hope that turns out well! Turnip28 has such a cool style/world.

    • @looselycollected7505

      I have yet to try any of the One Page Rules stuff yet. A lot of people that are playing it seem to be doing so because they were tired of the constant barrage of new editions of their favorite game every 3 years and errata and changes every couple of months. Not to mention various factions being completely written out, troops getting nerfed, troops being written out or replaced. Some people want to play the army they bought an invested a lot of effort into. Not have to rebuild that army every couple months or every three years. And the One Page stuff seems to allow people to do that. Or for that matter completely build something that fits the storyline of the 40K universe but doesn't have any official rules to represent it in play. I must admit having the freedom to create and play what you want is very tempting. It's also why I have enjoyed putting together stuff for Turnip28, Frostgrave, Stargrave, and Reign in Hell.

    • @iPaintSmallThings
      @iPaintSmallThings  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@looselycollected7505 haha I completely agree. I haven't played a game yet because every time I plan on making a new unit, that unit sucks a month later. I'm a big fan of the skirmish games out there simply because of not needing to make as many models that 40k askes for. Very interested in turnip and reign in hell!
