Seems like the Great State of Indiana has a motto that I recall from my OTR TRUCKIN YEARS.... SOMETHING Like..."Crossroads of America". Icertainly love the countryside and yes, I think it has more compelling history than many of the other states.

In the spring of '20, I had plans to take my sons to FL. Since the world was closed, except for seemingly the Hoosier Nat Forest, we decided to camp instead. Spent the week camping near Hemlock Cliffs, hiking nearby trails. It was an incredible moment in time for us.

I can identify! I went into work one day, and our supervisor told us to take our computers home, some horrible virus was making the rounds. I went from talking to tons of people, face to face, to talking on a phone. For months. I finally jumped in the car and headed northwest of Evansville, to Twin Swamps, tired of seeing four walls. I hiked all the way to the back of the trail, and a couple caught up to me. All three of us were so glad to talk, that we sat on the observation deck and spoke for over an hour. It was a precious memory I’ll never forget. People make this life worthwhile! 🙂

It's a beautiful area. Those caves are amazing. It looks like you visited and shot this video in the fall or winter, which is why there aren't many other visitors. It reminds me of the Hocking Hills Region of Ohio without the massive crowds that now visit that region year round. It's kind of nice that this area does not get overwhelmed with crowds to keep things more natural and undisturbed. It gives nature a chance to fix some of the damage brought to this area. Your videos make me wish that I had done more exploring in southern Indiana than I had.

    • @AdventureswithRoger

I film almost all my hiking videos from fall to spring. I’ve hiked for over four decades, and have lived through ticks, leeches, mosquitoes, poison ivy, and a variety of snakes! It’s just a better time for me. 🙂
Come summer break, many of these spots, especially the state parks, will be crowded with people. They are great places for families, and the price is either totally free or $7 per carload. Just a really amazing place to explore!

For a long time, my feelings were hurt that the hunter changed his mind, about showing me the ancient “Indian cave”, the one with relics on the floor. But a little older now, I understand why he changed his mind. Some people feel a need to put their initials on Eden’s, and universities take away what was undisturbed for centuries. The ancient places and things a person finds are often a personal gift to be treasured in the moment.

Greetings from Evansville, Indiana to all!! I'm originally from a much more rural and remote area of our state that was it's own little town called Barren Fork, Indiana. There is a cemetery with the same name that dead-ends a road that also bears the same name. Just about one eighth of a mile before the cemetery is a gated road that leads back into secluded and private wilderness which is very posted to prohibit hunting and trespassing in general. The reason for the area being off limits to all but a select few, besides the apparent hunting exclusivity is the remnants of the town a good distance back away from the road, cemetery and anything else. The legend of the old settlement lost to time is more and more being forgotten, both from younger generations losing interest and knowledge, plus the fact that the old town sits well behind private property lines.

Earlier this year, we’d talked about making a comedy TH-cam channel, bringing back some of that silly fun we used to know. It’s still an unbelievable shock, but we’re here until we’re done.

From the very beginning, I’ve used iMovie. It came with an iMac I bought off eBay, all for $175. I really liked how powerful and easy it was to use: everything is where it should be, not complicated.
After I made a lot of TH-cam videos, and upgraded to a high-end Apple M1 computer, I thought about moving to Final Cut Pro, a film maker standard. But, iMovie does everything I need it to do, handles high definition footage, and the interface is uncluttered. I just like to sit down and edit video, concentrating on the creative process, instead of the technical ins and outs.
