The sketch on your chest of drawers is of the Canadian Arctic. The stone “man” on the left is an “Inukshuk”. The Inuit built these structures for over 4000 years to mark the highest point of land, to aid in navigation, or assist in hunting. They are still a symbol of welcoming in Canada. The top right of your sketch is the Northern lights. Nice sketch!

Gold plated, vermicelli, gold filled, then solid gold 10k, 14k, 18k and pure 24K. Gold plated is the cheapest will spoil easily vermicelli is stronger but will spoil in contact with water, gold filled is also stronger but will tarnish over time. Solid gold ages well and gets a patina over time.

Its best to keep jewellery away from air and sunlight otherwise they tarnish quicker. I recommend stackers boxes.

It's a bit challenging for me to get into rings. I work with my hands a lot. So I would feel the need to take the rings off which is annoying but I also find them so beautiful.

Asos gold plated is not even that good .... it tarnishes quite quickly

I feel like I didn't find my love for jewellery until I started wearing gold, although I'm not sure why. I think its a flattering colour on any skin tone and I like the warmth it gives. Sometimes silver & rose gold can be a little too cold on me! 💛

Do the gold plating of your vermeil pieces often rub off after consistent shower and wear?
I have vermeil pieces from missoma and mejuri and found that after a few months even with no water contact the playing rubs off. I wouldn't buy from them again and I have taken really good care of them, never showered or slept in them or got them wet.
Earrings are generally fine. Gold vermeil does wear away on necklaces , bracelets and rings. Although I have purchased gold vermeil earrings from Mejuri which tarnished heavily with zero wear and required cleaning every other week. Made me swear off all gold vermeil pieces.
I have found my gold vermeil jewellery from missoma and mejuri tarnishes even though I keep them away from water/beauty products etc.and store them in their boxes. It’s such a shame and has put me off buying any more vermeil or plated jewellery 😞

I love mejuri and I would recommend the 14k gold pieces. I purchased a vermeil chain and it did start to turn after around 2 months of wear. I got rid of it, but I did recently see a video of someone with the same chain and they used sterling silver cleaner. The necklace looked brand new again. Now I wish I saved the piece to try and see if that worked. I feel like if you are going to buy 2 or 3 vermeil pieces then that can be the price of a 14k piece. I would go with 14k pieces like the curb bracelet or stacking rings which are more classic pieces that don't go out of style.

@@Cchhaarrlloottee No problem! The video I seen on TH-cam was from Haley Estrada. It was closer to the end of her shoe and bag decluttering video. She used Tiffany and Co. silver cleaner. Maybe give it a try if you still have some if those mejuri pieces that tarnished.

Doesn't your jewelry get scratched from having it on top of each other and in those containers? That hapenned to me and bought this huge jewelry box from amazon and its fully lined (i guess thats how you say it) with this velvety material and all my pieces can be separated and protected. My Debbie says your etching is of inookshooks under the aurora borealous (northern lights). The Inuit (Eskimo) would set these up to scare caribou down along a rocky game trail to the water where hunters would harpoon them. Inookshooks have been found out in the middle of the Saigon. They are man shaped you see. It is hypothesized they were placed just to give heart to the people to know man had been there.

Suddenly I’m seeing so many white peoples wearing and loving gold jewellery. In the early 2000s, silver was definitely the it thing. As an Asian I’ve always loved gold jewellery. I can see the Mexican/Spanish/Black influences a lot in American and European culture. Now gold is fashionable and good for me as I’m getting nice deals.
Missoma is the worst! I bought a pair of earrings for close to $200 and the blackened my ear lobes. Even worse is their customer service!! They refused to refund or replace and repeatedly asked me to "send photos and videos of the faulty item". TERRIBLE COMPANY
