    Very interesting newly built architecture on the homes in New Town. It's quite different from the many suburban cookie cutter areas we usually see. The surrounding landscaping really works as well. The downtown tourism looked busy. Thanks for the tour Chris.

    Chris, New Town does look like a nice area, but the yards are a bit small St. Charles Historic District looks like the city did a good job at keeping the feel of what it looked like without having EVERY fast-food joint along main street. So many great looking homes and other buildings, now just rid of the Walmart super center "UGH." The music was perfect for the vid, good job. Thanks again for your time and work....

    It's very Nice to see This Town Keeping Thier Historic Structures, it is too bad That Other Towns are Not doing The Same & goes for both US & Canada because I know a Lot of The Historic Buildings could have been Still around if They could have been Maintained Properly & This also Includes Your & Ower Covered Bridges as well.
    in New Brunswick alone we had 400 Covered Bridges, Today we Only have 58 & of Them being The Longest Covered Bridge in The World at a Length of 1282 ft

    I grew up in this town ( '65-'92 ) . There's absolutely nothing NOT to like about this town. Lot's of parks, a great hospital, great places to eat, friendly people, very safe town day or night, a great nightlife, awesome shops especially on Main St., Great architecture, schools really are fantastic with a very good sports program, excellent hunting nearby.
    It has always broken my heart to be lumped in with St. Louis. We locals have always considered the Missouri River the dividing line between St. Louis county and St. Charles county. Unfortunately you missed the old Van Dyke brewery off of Booneslick Rd. but EXCELLENT JOB covering the old town area.
    Unfortunately, as of 8/27/23, St. Charles is really struggling with water contamination issues with their wells.

    I live in Chester county Pennsylvania it’s a beautiful place with farm lands but it lacks side walks and bike lanes to enjoy the landscapes and it’s one of the richest county and don’t have proper suburban town planning. It’s a good video..

    • @SJRS700
      @SJRS700 ปีที่แล้ว

      drive around in a car, its more comfortable, also chester country is very historical and adding bike lanes will come at a cost of stopping car traffic which is not ideal, you can definitely walk but I would prefer a car for comfort and not want the county to ban cars just for tourism sake, it also a big residential county

    New town was built in a flood plain. That's why it was farmland. I was born and raised here. St Charles is a backwater town with a corrupt government and police department. Years ago it was a great town but things changed with time. If I could get out of here I would. It feels more like a prison than a place to call home.

I don't think New Town is really part of old Saint Charles, on top of that houses in old Saint Charles are snatched up as quick as they get put on the market for the most part. I disagree about Lindenwood I think it's good for Saint Charles. Having a successful college in a city is always a plus. If something ever happened to Lindenwood it would be bad news for Saint Charles.
