Ladies, there is no such thing as “the one”. Any person can have multiple “ones” in their life. It’s like Allison said, look for someone who will make you feel good about yourself, I think that’s the most important thing. At the end of the day, do you feel like that person supports you, your interests, your growth? Are they someone who encourage you, are they there for you whenever you need them, never knock you down and make you feel horrible about yourself? If you’re with a partner whom you see growing in life with, someone who compliments your character and doesn’t constantly clash with it, then that’s how you know it’s a workable relationship. Throw out this Disney prince mentality out of your head or it will be very hard for you to live, let alone find that perfect person.
I couldn't agree more with your statements about how you knew your husband was the one. I've been married more years than you've been alive, and that's exactly how I felt (and still feel) about my husband. I tell people all the time that I married my husband for his sense of humor. When you can go through life with a man who builds you up. supports you, encourages you, and makes you laugh, your life will be fulfilled. I am so thankful for my husband and all that he does for me.

Omg thank you so much for the Something Borrowed Blooms recommendation!!!! I am getting married 6/19/2020 and flowers aren’t my top priority. I’m soooo excited about being able to just rent these silk florals. It really takes some anxiety off. Also, congratulations on getting married. I’ve been watching you for so many years!
Thank you! And yes Something Borrowed Blooms was a lifesaver. They shipped them straight to the resort and I was able to have FedEx pick up from the resort. No hassle. No leftover silk flowers to figure out what to do with. It was perfect.

Your wedding was absolutely gorgeous! I got married in December 2016, and my husband and I had a very small wedding at a historical Victorian home in our hometown. It was already decorated for Christmas so we saved A TON on decorations. Our wedding ended up being very affordable and simple but beautiful and intimate.
This wedding sounds like it was just perfect - sounds filled with love and fun 🥰🥰
That was such a sweet way to remember your mom! I lost my mom almost 11 years ago so I wore her wedding ring on the day 💕 at my sister’s wedding, she lit a candle and the candle actually stayed lit even when it was misty/sprinkling outside so that felt extra special!

Allison I’m so glad you mentioned the doubts you had. I got engaged a few months ago to the man I’ve been with for 6 years and I don’t know if I would call them doubts or worries or pressure but it’s nice to hear I’m not alone in my feelings. I thought having doubts was a bad sign, but you’re right, it’s a huge decision to make!
I felt the same way, mostly because I feel like everyone else on social media seems SO thrilled and certain with their decision, no one else seems to talk about having doubts. But I had them! Many times!! It's one of the biggest decisions you'll ever make in your life! But I never doubted the person, which is what I reminded myself in times where I felt the uncertainty. I didn't wonder if there was someone else out there for me, or whether or not my soon-to-be-husband would be a good partner. If you haven't mentioned your doubts to your fiance yet, consider it! He may be having the same feelings and you can talk through them and reassure each other. Congratulations on your engagement!

Hi Allison! I just loved your sharing about your wedding day! :) I married in may 2019. It was so amazing and lovely! The ceremony and party took place in an amazing hotel in Oporto City with a breath-taking view over Douro River (old and new mixed). We were around 20 people and in total the ceremony and the party started around 6pm until midnight. My must-have was photography and it worth every single penny. My father-in-law died a few years ago (I did not meet him) and we decided to honor him by lighting a candle in the beginning of the event and we let it burn until the end.

Me and my husband got married nearly 3 years ago now. We had a very intimate wedding with only about 18 guests; mainly our parents, siblings and their significant others. Our ceremony was at a town hall in a seaside location where I had tons of memories growing up with my family, and me and my husband had created memories there too. We kept costs low on almost everything. My dress was pre-loved, I made my bouquet from artificial flowers, did my hair myself and had a shop-bought cake as we couldn't face spending hundreds of pounds on something that only gets eaten!. My husband's suit was new and cost more than my dress! Lol. The only thing we splurged on was the reception venue. We wanted a nice sit-down meal and the restaurant was catered perfectly to our mixed cultures.

WE DID IT!! I'm a wife?! It's pretty crazy. Those of you who are married, what was the best part of your wedding day?
Congrats!!! Honestly the best part was FINALLY coming home at the end of the night together. I come from a super strict family so spending the night together was a no no, no vacations or trips together. Finally sleeping on the same bed, ending and starting each day together. Im so happy, 5 years and expecting our first baby! Blessings for you two!!
Allison Anderson This sounds mean, but the best part of our wedding was when it was over. We did have one of those weddings where my parents insisted on inviting extra people we didn’t know. They were fine guests, but a smaller intimate wedding was what we really desired.
I tell people our wedding day was the worst day of our marriage, because although we faired okay during the wedding, it was just up and up from there. And I’m so glad. Like you said, your wedding day is only for one day, keep it simple.
Congrats 😍 our first dance is my favourite memory of our wedding day. It felt like there was only me and my husband in the room. We sang the song to each other, it was such a magical moment.

The best thing about my wedding (5 years ago!) was how casual it was. Super small, fun, casual, potluck bbq on the lake! Not everyone's cup of tea I know, but people still tell us how much fun they had that night! We got married on the lawn in front of the lake & celebrated in a big gazebo. It was perfect! Also, our sparkler favours were tons of fun!
