What kills me is why the Olympic was scraped and not turned into a museum by this time the world had lost both her sisters Britannic and Titanic would’ve been amazing to walk the decks of the Olympic like we can the Queen Mary

but a bay news [TITANIC 2] will cross through atlantic ocean and be the sister of olympic but the [TITANIC 2] but be 10 times bigger than the old [TITANIC]
The last Olympic class built, the RMS/HMHS Britannic, was the last one to sink. RMS Titanic was the second built, first sunk. The RMS Olympic was the first built but never sank, it survived until 1935 when it was finally sold for scrap
Strangely compelling, in spite of its minimalist approach. Dad and I never really spoke much about his WWII experiences after enlisting in the USN, but I specifically asked once, "Why did you enlist in the Navy?" "I wanted a clean place to sleep. You don't get that guarantee in the Army." Damn straight answer, no hesitation. My response "Yeah, but boats SINK!!!" I don't recall his comment on my concern. But anyway ... Great sound design in this video. It really got under my skin, and the reason for that is simple, and profound. I can not imagine a more gut-curdling sound than what you'd hear, what would literally shake your bones, as you swam for a lifeboat through the water, and an 80,000 ton vessel sank beneath the waves behind you. It must qualify somewhere in the Top Ten Sounds You Never Want To Hear...

Just when I saw this again I just noticed something: -Lusitania: Attacked and sunk by the German SM U-20, more than 1000 dead. -Response (from the media and the British public): It is a treacherous and cowardly act of the Germans (in addition to a criminal act and they also ask to avenge the loss of the ship), they make posters, fill newspapers with headlines about the attack and even draw posters and make an animated propaganda movie. HMHS Britannic: Also practically attacked by a submarine, SM U-73, the largest ship afloat made by British ... sunk too. I hit a damn mine and accidentally killed 30 people with my port propeller. I didnt mean to kill anyone but the lifeboat got sucked in and torn apart :(
It almost makes you sick to know open portholes are what ultimately sank such a great liner. All the features added after Titanic going down worked as they should have and would have kept her afloat if all that excess water hadn’t gotten in from the open portholes. To anyone who thinks this isn’t true, do a little more research…it’s sad and very confounding but it is a fact. I can’t recall the exact figure but it is tens of tons of water that were let in by each single open porthole and there were hundreds. Even at 10 tons per minute and 50 portholes that’s 30,000 tons in an hour.
If you are a skilled enough diver and get permission by the Greek government, you could always see the original. She is at a depth of about 400 feet within the Kea Channel in Greece. She is more accessible than titanic which lies 12,600 feet below sea level.
She wasn't that close to the coast. The captain attempted to steer the ship towards the coast ,but she was sinking to quickly. It didn't help that many of her portholes and windows were open at the time she struck the mine (was a nice day). It further increased her sinking rate.
