Great Unboxing and in-deph review of the new Vauban set. I have a few thoughts of it myself, so sorry if this is a bit long. I was sad that the Vauban was made into a pure aerial unit and not a skimming unit with Levant surge. First, it cannot lead a Levant battlefleet this way and second, as an aerial unit it is quite vulnerable. As you said in the review: If you dont play with aerial terrain, aka cloud banks etc., this thing is the prime target of your opponent caust it is always visible. However, if you use aerial terrain, you will park the ship in the clouds and be almost invulnerable for most of the game while dishing out good damage every turn. Aerial units are already strong in this game so we dont play with aerial terrain. Therefore i have a much more positive look onto the La Republique. Yes, it is 45 points more expensive then the Vauban and it is skimmer only (without Levant Surge). But you can hide it behind regular terrain and if the need arises you can use its impressive firepower. Submarauders are the prime threat here, but thats true for everyone thats facing them robot monsters. Therefore i think that the La Republique is actually more balanced then the regular Vauban, which is either too weak or too strong, depending on wether you play with aerial terrain or without. Now for the new Levant support ships. They are skinners only as they are the first generation of french skimmers and they are even more fragile then the Levant frontline. Just a few thoughts to keep if brief: Alma: good repair ship, but you pay the skimmer tax for it. It has mines so thats something. Keep in mind that you cannot attach it to the regular Vauban and that the other Levant flagships cannot use Levant surge if you attach her to them. Gascony: Personally i think it is too expensive for what it brings to the table. Dieppe: Interesting in combination with other units that have heat lances / lancettes installed. But also good on itself. Its low speed is a problem though. Marseille: For me the best of the bunch. But not in combination with a Vauban / La Republique, but with the other french carries, read: the Couronne. One or two Marseilles are great in combination with a Couronne and for me a must have if i field the Grand Carrier. Lyon: I want to like it, really. On paper it looks like a good ship. But i agree, it misses something. Honneur: Great mass 1 skimmers, actually scary with torps. And for the change on the old Levant frontlines: I like all of them. The Chasseur is finally an option. Furieux still good and the Voliere finally fieldable. all great changes. Thanks again for the unboxing and review. I appreciate them, as always.
Love your unboxing and what to build series of videos. tho cost's me as sent away for the Commenwealth starter set after watching your Rikhter battlegroup what to build :D
Those are some beautiful ships. Yet again, Warcradle are trying to tempt me into starting another faction right when I'm meant to be saving for the upcoming Crown releases >.
i feel like the republic would be such a fun center piece for a Levant fleet but wish it had some form of inbuilt genny to keep it alive just a bit further
So I recently got into DW and at least looking at dry stats vauban appears a bit shit - for 245 I can get le phenix with gives me FOW for 100pts less and is easier to hide
C est un beau morceau, mais pas trop fan du gameplay cependant. C est un peu étrange, le couronne est mieux pour les srs et les Fr sont bien dotés de vaisseaux skimming pour attaque rapide
Yay more ships! I don't care if they're good or bad, I just like that there are more models for this setting! And such good looking ones too!
Ok, another unboxing and tactica advice... Best way to do this job
Thank you Riccardo!

I love the depth of analysis
Love the recent releases of so many massive airships. Really opens up the game for many factions.

I'm a commonwealth player, but the Vauban is so very tempting.

Great!
I've recently started getting into this game the airships look so good even if they're not that great haha.

most of the alliance ships look cool. this one really ornate.
Nice one :)

I liked the information about what turrets (and how many) the sprues have
Good luck all
Ahaha de rien pour la photo pas de soucis 😂
Haha and the Sirènes too ! Thanks
You grab a pic of unfinished one without orange lights, but still it's better than plastic grey 😄
More Levants are always better :D
Comment ça, "Pas fun", un Fury-Furieux avec des heat lancettes ? :o

vraiment pas convaincue par le vauban .
