Took my son out for both of our 1st time deer hunting. Got a doe on day 2 without him because of the cold (we're just north of Lincoln but I grew up in Hastings). It's my dream to have something like this to take the kids.
I drive a semi truck mostly east of the Mississippi River. I see a blind in Ohio that is right beside the interstate that has a solar panel on tip of it all the time...Good idea
I didn't mention the price in the video, but the 5'x8' Bow-Gun-Drop in this video goes for $3,550. Tom runs some promotions on them from time to time, and if you buy more than one he'll cut you a deal too. The 5'x6' Bow-Gun-Drop was $2,900 if I recall correctly. You can get standard sliding windows for a little less as well. These prices were from March of 2023. You won't find a better blind on the market!
You're going to love these blinds! I hauled two on a car trailer, gable end facing forward, and left all the windows up. I had a bad crosswind (40 mph+) most of the 6 hour drive home. They took the ride a lot better than I expected!
the whole thing is a blind spot,,,,get it.,..HAHAHAH....maybe install curtains so you cant see THROUGH the windows ..prevent seeing movement in the blind...or may the windows are tinted and already resolve that issue...
🤣 I realized the unintended pun while I was editing! The windows do have a tint to them which helps conceal movement, but if the sun is at your back you still have to be careful with moving too much.
I really like the blind design and would be interested in buying one, but the brand and quality of the solar components you chose is widely considered to be one of the worst available in this market. From the panel, to the PWM controller, to the battery, Eco-Worthy products are some of the worst re-branded junk you can get. Do some research with those who are knowledgeable in the world of solar and batteries and you'll realize I'm not just saying that. One last thing I'll mention is a lithium iron-phosphate battery, even a poorly made one, must not be charged when the cells are below freezing. This will quickly damage the battery beyond use. If you're going to have a battery in a blind, go a little bigger, get one with a self-heating option (or a heater on a timer) and then have a small AC inverter in the blind to run something other than DC applications.
Thanks for the comment. Yes, the Eco-Worthy brand isn't known for being high quality, but for ~$100 it was a good fit for our application to run LED lights at a minimal cost. What's your go-to solar brand you would use in a blind?
@@HuskerHunting Li-Time, Redodo and Power Queen are all reasonably priced, but better quality than Eco-Worthy. It also depends on how much you're wanting to run. You could wire up the blind with a plan to carry in a portable power station that you plug into the DC fuse panel. That would be pretty cool. None of that is happening for $100 though. :)
Awesome, thanks for the recommendations, Jason! This was my first ever solar install, so it's good to hear from someone that has a little more know-how in that area. I appreciate your thoughts!
We spend most of the season bowhunting out of tree stands. I agree that there is no match for being immersed in nature, but these have been a game changer for those brutally cold days when I would have frozen out in a tree.
I love my antler shed blind ! Great choice
They are great blinds!

That's awesome, congratulations on your first deer!

I'll admit at first I thought it was a little over the top, but dang it's nice to have lights and a cell phone charger. Safe travels to you!
Nice video, bud.
Thanks, Rob!
Man I love the electrical info
I want more info on this I might do something like this
Awesome, thanks for watching! If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them!
Nice , weather u use so called “bad electronics “ damn sure better than 80 percent of our blinds.
Did you say a price? If you did I missed it

NIce to see a content creator from Nebraska! What part of the state are you guys in?
Thanks! We live in south-central Nebraska. Webster County is home and hunt primarily in Harlan County. Whereabouts are you from?
Just east of ya in Gage. Just a mile north of the Kansas border!. @@HuskerHunting
Right on! We hunt just a mile north of the Kansas border, too!
I'm picking mine up this week. How'd you haul it. Windows down?

What happens to solar panels when they are no longer working?
It would be pretty easy to replace the 25W panel.

WHY the SEE THRU......why all the party lights? you might as well put up a neon sign that says EAT AT JOE'S
Luckily the two bucks we shot out of them this fall didn't seem to mind. :)
Have a Merry Christmas!
the outdoors part of hunting is half the experience, may as well just sit on the couch at home and " hunt ".
