While I don't like Mimzy's part all that much, I do think her part serves a purpose. First of all, she's the one reiterating some things from the pilot and she needed an introduction. Now don't get me wrong, the song could have been ended by anyone else but the point was not to let either Alastor nor Lucifer "win" the song as a form of battle like how Alastor came out on top in Stayed Gone, but to keep the power dynamics between the characters vague. Keep it uncertain whether Alastor could actually win against Lucifer and ultimately seize power because even when Alastor attacked his insecurities, he fought back unlike Vox who basically shut himself off. The easiest way to do this is have another character break it up and finish it with a different topic. Now, among the characters present, who would have been able to do this effectively? Charlie isn't really that forceful in nature, and all others would not dare to go in-between two of Hell's most powerful beings. Mimzy is a good choice here, because she IS annoying. She's supposed to be. Her sudden appearance immediately stopped the "fight" because they were just stunned and confused. Which is encapsulated by Lucifer's incredulous "Who?" at the end. Like he is so flabberghasted that he forgot Alastor for a moment and Alastor also didn't continue as the attention of everyone else was, even if unwillingly, on Mimzy. So while this part is annoying, it was an easy way to resolve the song without characters dominating in the end nor giving away too much of possible future conflict. It's not a song where someone gets overpowered but instead, it ends in a draw. Could it have been solved differently? Perhaps. But we all know they both wouldn't see eye to eye but making one seem stronger than the other also isn't a good idea as Lucifer is still the King of Hell, despite barely ruling it. If Alastor had managed to come out on top, we would perceive him as even more of a threat, sure, but the vagueness of whether he could defeat Lucifer remains ambiguous and he therefore retains a role where he is threatening but still ambiguous the moment Mimzy broke it up. Which is good. Alastor is meant to keep us guessing. So while her part isn't great, it does something important. It ends a good song without the song needing to resolve the conflict in one way or another. It just... ends. With no one stronger than the other nor reaching any mutual agreement. The conflict remains and while there could be other means to end the song while achieving the same thing, it can often be awkward or feel off, like when both would end the song together. Because that would require a form of harmony which the song never included. It was always contrasting the two characters, never letting them share moments but always interrupting each other and trying to one-up each other as well. Even when they play their instruments, they don't join together but always interrupt and then continue alone. So Mimzy kinda solved that conundrum by stopping both of them but without undermining their authority or power but just by confusing and annoying people. She does not come out on top but just catches everyone by surprise and therefore off-guard. Only a different character could have done this well enough in my opinion as none of the characters present either had the personality or power to intervene effectively. Charlie was the only one who might have obliviously tried to end it harmoniously but she is always trying to keep the peace and it might have thrown the trajectory off even more. Now, the song also could have just ended by an outside interruption not breaking into song. But Mimzy's role is not a bad choice. Not a pleasant one for the ears either of course, but a good way to pause conflict without changing the dynamics.

It pisses me off how (I think this is how it went) Prime Video forced the HH team to scrunch the entire series into 8 episodes, so they had a handful of gems of episodes and had to leave out like 5 months worth of series. It came out beautifully, but if Amazon Prime does this for season 2 it’ll be annoying. They’ll probably keep the same 8 episodes a season, but MAN would I love like 10-12 episodes for S2.
Poison reminds me of Toxic era Britney Spears. It might be or might not intentional, but it has that feeling for me. Probably is what makes it sadder for me.

I'm sorry, but who in their right mind can watch the music video for Poison and think it in any way glorifies that lifestyle? What Angel has to go through is horrifying.
Hey MTC, I might have an idea for a video. How about a comparison between Ready For This from Hazbin and Knowing What I Know Now from Wish? Both songs contain the main character having to convince a crowd (or in Wish’s case, her friends) to fight against the angels/King Magnifico.
36:23 well except that Charlie and Vaggie aren’t the first LGBTQ characters in fictional media to “be portrayed as actual characters.” There was also Wallace Wells and Roxie Richter in Scott Pilgrim, Ruby & Sapphire/Garnet in Steven Universe, Enid & Red Action in OK K.O. Let’s Be Heroes, Sasha Waybright in Amphibia, Luz and Amity in The Owl House; and Blitzø, Moxxie, Stolas, Fizzaroli, and Asmodeus in Helluva Boss.
29:13 i kinda agree with him For me, almost all songs are a bop. The only ones that I listen to the least is “Starts with Sorry” and “Whatever it takes”
One visual is the ropes around them. I notice how less the ropes are around angel. Maybe showing power scales with their masters. Or how easy it would be to break the contract. Or how lenient their contacts are. This is shown on how Val cant summon angel out thin air like Alastor cam with husker.
43:59 , I didn't shed a tear but I did feel very upset. Also I didn't cry when watching up (I'm a very emotional person btw). Edit my top 5 favourite songs and why: 5•poison - this song can also be about being a one way toxic friendship and the damage it can cause to your mental health, I've been in one and I relate alot 4•the finally - I like how they build on Alastor's character and It's the most character building he gets 3• hells greatest dad- it's just an upbeat song and I just love it 2• more than anything- it's just the plot of it and the father daughter relationship 1• stayed gone - I love Alastor's voice and it's the first time we get introduced to the vees. It's also one of the best duet of the series and the best song animations of the series
I feel like respect less is definitely more for the younger side of hazbin hotel’s audience, the contrast of the hip hop from Velvette, with the more traditional pop from Carmella. It definitely isn’t one of the higher songs on my list, but I like the contrast, velvettes use of decently recent slag made sense, but was definitely a bit cringe
One of my buddies from High School/College Recommended Hazbin Hotel to me and at first I was Hesitant to watch it but after finally getting around to watching it I LOVED it. By God The Show It MUST GO OOOOOOOONNNNNNNN!
In the finale instead of Alastor trying to smile it could be Alastor trying NOT to smile. In the scene where he makes a deal with Charlier you will notice that it looks like his smile could possible be stitched up because of whoever controls him.
I feel welcome to heaven was suppose to be bad. Notice all other songs occurred organically, they were out of breath and exhausted trying to explain y they were and extension heaven was the best
I think that Poison should have been top 3 and I will admit after watching this I want to go back and watch the show again because I'm sorry but I really did not pay attention to the episode more than anything was in or hells greatest dad was in so I think I will watch it again
I think what seals the deal for me with Stayed Gone is Alastors voice. I do have a soft spot for swing jazz, and Alastors radio voice just adds to old timey jazz feel for me. I'll defend Welcome to Heaven a bit. It being bland, sterile, vanilla, SAFE, I think works for what some perceptions of Heaven as a whole would be. Its a great contrast to Hells more outrageous and bombastic feel.
Something I'm kinda sad you guys didn't mention - in the song "Hell's Greatest Dad" when Lucifer is singing with Alastor he plays a fiddle made of gold, which is a reference to the song "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" (where in said song he essentially makes a bet with a fiddle player of a fiddle made of gold against his soul to see who's better at playing the fiddle, a 'duel' if you will). Similarly in a way he's 'dueling' Alastor over Charlie with their back and forth. Kind of a minor thing, but a neat shout out to one of the most popular songs that involve "the devil" .
1- Loser baby 2- Hell greatest dad 3- Stayed gone 4- Hell is forever 5- you didn't know 6- Poison 7- More than anything 8- Finale 9- Out for love 10- Wathever it takes 11- More than anything (reprise) 12- Ready for this 13- Respectless 14- Happy day in hell 15- It starts with sorry 16- Welcome to heaven

@@VelvetteSimp if it helps, I'm a metalhead who doesn't really listen to anything pop, and while respectless is an objectively good song, it's just not my favorite kind of music. Also, no HH songs are inherently bad. I genuinely like pretty much all of them. There are just some that I absolutely adore.
@trinitygrigerek7344 Poison is literally number 2 on your list though and that's definitely pop also I couldn't care less about people's opinions you can rank welcome to heaven as the best song in the show
@@VelvetteSimp yeahhh ik it's definitely still pop, it's just a different tone, i like the lyrics more, and I probably have some bias bc angel is my favorite character. Anyways I completely understand why you wouldn't like my opinions, they're definitely very weird.
Of course you don't want Huskerdust to be romantic. Who wants a s3x worker to be happy and have a healthy romantic-s3xu@l relationship with a close friend, right? Now jokes aside. Denying their *obvious* romantic tension between those two just proves how heteronormative society is. If Huskerdust was a straight couple no one would say it is platonic. Anyway. I'm glad Viv already confirmed it is canon and she will explore their relationship more. Huskerdust is romantic, not platonic. End of story. Edit: "i know husk is pan and angel is gay buuuuttt" It's ok to be queer as long as they don't have queer relationships LMAO Husk is canonically pan for no reason apparently
Here's my ranking of all the songs. (Btw, I made my own ranking video on my channel!) 1. The Show Must Go On 2. Loser, Baby 3. More Than Anything 4. Stayed Gone 5. You Didn't Know? 6. Poison 7. I've always felt like it was obvious in Hells Greatest Dad that Alistair is goading Lucifer into helping Charlie by engaging his jealousy. But I seem to be the only one that sees it so...maybe not so much.
This comment is kinda late but if you love the Vox and Valentino part of the song of "Finale" or "The Show Must Go On", then you will love the song called "I Can't Fix You" by The Living Tombstone (ft. CrusherP) (Since the Vee's part Masterless Cattle is based off of it)
hey so real question because i am probably misinformed, but wasn't stamper the original voice for sir pentious and after all the stuff he tweeted that got him cancelled he was canned and alex brightman was asked to voice him as well? am i wrong?

While I don't like Mimzy's part all that much, I do think her part serves a purpose. First of all, she's the one reiterating some things from the pilot and she needed an introduction. Now don't get me wrong, the song could have been ended by anyone else but the point was not to let either Alastor nor Lucifer "win" the song as a form of battle like how Alastor came out on top in Stayed Gone, but to keep the power dynamics between the characters vague.
Guys guys guys. It’s been a month since this video was uploaded but I have to say. More Than Anything is the fricking best song.
In the scene where he makes a deal with Charlier you will notice that it looks like his smile could possible be stitched up because of whoever controls him.
the pacing issue is a known thing in the hazbin community and it was supposed to be a 12 episode series but only 8 were greenlit by amazon
I don't care about the lyrics, if it sounds good, I like it-
Starts with sorry is just a bad song-
Reaaallll
29:13 excuse me, WHAT?
I want to know what your favorite songs are from the pilot.
If i remember correctly...
1. Alastors Song
2. Charlies News Room Song
3. The Sad Opening
1. Hell is Forever
2. Everything else 🤣
12:19 no bro that actually made me laugh
Very good rating! May I suggest ranking Twenty One Pilots songs?
When angel is dancing in poison and swag not actually what’s happening like when it flashes the images on the screen that’s what actually happening

Not based on how good they are in general but how much I would just listen to it unironicly and vibe/jam to it. If this was based on how good it was as a song, the rankings would be pretty different.
I gotta watch the whole series now
More then anything’s vocals are just so amazing 🤩
Here’s how I would rank the songs, in case anyone is interested:
1. Stayed Gone
2. Poison
3. Loser, Baby
4. More Than Anything
5. Whatever It Takes
6. You Didn’t Know
7. The Show Must Go On
8. Hell is Forever
9. Happy Day in Hell
10. Ready For This
11. Out For Love
12. Hell’s Greatest Dad
13. More Than Anything (reprise)
14. It Starts with Sorry
15. Respectless
16. Welcome to Heaven
I don't know whether to be more mad at Respectless being so low or whatever it takes being extremely high
Anyways I completely understand why you wouldn't like my opinions, they're definitely very weird.
respectless that low is a crime(your opinion tho)
how does ben put my favorites musics in number 16, 15 and 14, and putting a nonsense song like "welcome to heaven" in top 5
Alex brightman also plays sir pentious! He will be in season two
Loser baby is 200% my favorite song and nothing anyone says about it will change my mind. The first time I heard it I knew it was number one.
Also Alex bright man will hopefully be on season two as the angelfid sir pentions
My favorite song is loser , baby i love it too!❤
Of course you don't want Huskerdust to be romantic.
Huskerdusk is a top-tier pairing.
Mimzy is meant to end the song without any winner. Because they wanted who is better because they end the song. And keep it up ij the air
You should add helluva boss into this as Mastermind is amazing
ok but why do I like out for love the most
I completely agree with your opinion on respectless it’s one of my least favorites I don’t get the hype either
BoomerBase in the whole video: 👍
Here's my ranking of all the songs. (Btw, I made my own ranking video on my channel!)
1. The Show Must Go On
2. Loser, Baby
3. More Than Anything
4. Stayed Gone
5. You Didn't Know?
6. Poison
7. Hell is Forever
8. Ready for This
9. Respectless
10. Hell's Greatest Dad
11. Happy Day in Hell
12. Out for Love
13. Whatever it Takes
14. It Starts with Sorry
15. More than Anything (Reprise)
16. Welcome to Heaven
For some reason the show must go on has really grown on me
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO LOVES IT STARTES WITH SORRY TOO!!!
I've always felt like it was obvious in Hells Greatest Dad that Alistair is goading Lucifer into helping Charlie by engaging his jealousy.
But I seem to be the only one that sees it so...maybe not so much.
Can I be honest completely based on how poison sounds I don't like it not even one bit same goes for whatever it takes
yeah, on almost every song i have to dissagree with the bald man.
10:08 FLOUR ISN’T EVEN A SPICE MY GUY
... thats the joke...
Your opinions aren't actually correct, because you said Carmilla was bad. Me and the boys are 100 meters away from your house. Start running
Yes respectless is my second best after loser baby
2:00 is that Moxie from Hell of a boss
No
Do fan songs for it next
Alex is still here as a voice, bcs he also voices Sir Pentius
Ima be honest i love Stayed gone and Poison
I love hazbin hotel especially the music
This comment is kinda late but if you love the Vox and Valentino part of the song of "Finale" or "The Show Must Go On", then you will love the song called "I Can't Fix You" by The Living Tombstone (ft. CrusherP) (Since the Vee's part Masterless Cattle is based off of it)
So I really recommend listening to this song to see if you like it
22:39 THATS WHAT IM SAYIN
43:55 i guess i dont have a soul
3:19 doctor who
hey so real question because i am probably misinformed, but wasn't stamper the original voice for sir pentious and after all the stuff he tweeted that got him cancelled he was canned and alex brightman was asked to voice him as well? am i wrong?
Vaggie and Charlie’s singing voices to me sound VERY similar
