That's a lovely model, it reminds me of the train my Dad used to take me on as a very small child down to Severn Beach on a Saturday afternoon (very different livery, of course). 👍👍👍.
Hi , first time talker .... Would appreciate a list of oils , greases and contact cleaners and stating which parts are cleaned with each product ... Your channel I do watch regularly ... And need learn to service my own Many thanks
You're not wrong about that little DMU being a great looking model! You have to ask why manufacturers use that horrible, gunky lubricant. To prevent long life, perhaps?
Not a fan of plastic clips on any part of a model. With handling or over time plastic will get brittle, this means that your expensive Hornby purchase is destine to fall apart. The more frequently you service your models the sooner it is likely to happen.
Depends on the plastic. Most USA models like Athern have clip on bodies, easy to remove with an old credit card, and clip on wheels, motors, bogies etc., for locos, coaches and waggons. Last for decades, unlike the old Triang clips that did break.
H Dan.
Great fix. Lovely looking loco.
Well done.
Thumbs up thumped 👍
....Pete....

Did you say you paid £59 for yours? Clark Railworks has a pre-owned example for sale at £85.
When it was new about 12 years ago
That grease looks gross 🤢
