As a former clarinetist in marching band, I am blown away by their ability to play so well with those kind of moves. That takes not only a huge amount of stamina but control to not let the dancing affect your embouchure or fingering. Simply marvelous performance! 👏

Been following this band for several years now, and they never disappoint! Always perfect and entertaining. Well done kids! Don't forget....this is a high school band. So they aren't the same kids year after year, but they perform like they have doing it forever! So impressed.
How many bands can you say are simply so sweet, cute, sounds great while they dance, smiles, interacts with the crowd and is just having a ton of fun for 5.5 miles? Seriously? Amazing!!! Way to Go Tachibana H.S. Band, nicknamed "The Orange Devils"! 😊
I am a fan. Followed my Buckeyes to the Rose Bowl and got up at 4 am to take in the parade. Ecstatic to see KT coming down the street. Didn't know that they were there. First time to see them live. Seeing them, TBDBITL, and a victory over the Oregon Ducks made for a great New Year's Day.
Simply an amazing performance i feel blessed to have seen it. Great job to all involved

It seems they never stop being amazing! With alumni who have not performed regularly or for a while, they were very good! I watched their Band Fest "Pass in Review" march and THAT WAS AMAZING! The Pass in Review was one of my favorite performances of KTSHS Band.

There are a certain set of constants in this world that come around without fail. Eclipses of the Sun, Moon and the Earth, political scandals, failing economies, broken personal relationships, and then the holidays. But the one constant I continually look forward to is seeing the Kyoto Tachibana marching band in the Rose Parade every 4 years. 2017, 2021 and now 2025. Trust me, it is worth the wait and the cold weather to see them in person. Kudos to them and many thanks.
As someone who has marched in this parade. To see their marching style, understanding that the route is 5.5 miles (8.9 km), this is very impressive. I played basketball at a high level and this was still one of the most exhausting things I ever did. And they are just running, high kicking, skipping. Double timing. Impressive athletic, endurance and musical achievements to witness.
The incredible tone they keep with all the movement is impressive. Truly world class show
That young male tuba player moved like he wasn't burdened at all by the instrument. The stamina is amazing.
I marched the rose parade 3 years back in the day. I know how hard everyone trains to look and sound good. In 2018, the same KTG band played and had a young lady play with them that had a prosthetic leg. She was honored by T of R at band fest and she marched and did all the GE with everyone else. They are a great ambassador of Japan
Yes! I checked a map of Pasadena-this video was taken near the end of the parade. They are looking as fresh and energetic as ever.
Thank you for your wonderful comment. They play wonderfully well while dancing. It is almost impossible for others to do that. However, this time the organizers decided that the copyright fees for the songs they performed, which were previously paid by the organizers, would be borne by the contestants, so the number of songs was reduced, and the dance action was considerably restricted, so they were not able to show even half of their potential. I wanted everyone in America to see how great this group really is. If possible, please search for and watch the 2018 video. It's amazing!

グリーンバンド協会も費用がかかり過ぎて2、3年位でローズ参加を中止する話も聞いています♪1億以上かかるので、今回は橘だからできたが、次回は難しそうです♪

おっしゃる通りですね。スタジアムのDrillも卒業生最初から最後まで演奏してますし。
会社や学校に休暇届け出して練習したのかしら。それとも前々から譜面配布して各自練習してたとか。ダンスは自然と体が動くぐらい現役時代にパターンの猛練習してるでしょうし。全員が一体となっていて素晴らしい。
観客の皆さんも生徒さん達も楽しんでるのが良く分かる撮影に感謝です。
特に子供が楽しそう。ハイタッチの連発でこうやって未来のマーチングを育てているのも橘さんのいいところですね。

Such a shame for people who commenting on the reduction of the dance steps and ignored the fact of how their sound are way way better than before WHILE KEEPING NICE MOVES AS WELL

Agreed!!! Also ignoring that they placed more emphasis on the kids safety and health and limited what they could do. Their safety is far more important than 1 persons entertainment.
They had more dance and moves, especially always on Sing Sing Sing. They are the best marching band I have ever seen, and very special students!
the parade is 5 miles long. They danced more towards the beginning where there are grandstand/bleechers and TV cameras. This looks like it is near the end where it is mostly suburban/small
businesses area. The beginning of the parade is like downtown Pasadena.
@@ejtaylor73makes a lot of sense, as I noticed their energy level was not as high as their previous Rose Parade performances and I couldn’t help but wonder about the alumni who probably are not in shape for the band’s usual high energy style. Your post makes perfect sense and the safety of the performers should be the number one priority.
The Rose Parade is not a contest where strict AJBA judges are inspecting every move, keeping scores and looking for mistakes.
The Rose Parade is a global spectacle, the biggest show on earth for marching bands.
KT should've went all out with what it's known for and what it does best - rousing and breathtakingly beautiful, cute and spontaneous performance without politics. Thousands of young Japanese students dreamed of joining KT purely because of it.
However, the New KT "Overlords" decided to erase the brilliance of "Tanaka-era KT" and replaced it with a politically-correct but joyless automaton band. A few more years and KT will look just like another traditional great-sounding but robotic Japanese marching band.

You've got to love the Kyoto Tachibana High School Band, even 2-3 miles into the parade when they must be tired and thirsty they still are able to make the best of a delay by playing and dancing to a big portion of their musical portfolio. Always with a great attitude; happy, smiling, and high-fiving the spectators and themselves!
This point is like 5 miles in!
Many people complain about the low number of songs.
I would like to point out that the organiser no longer pays the licence fees, as was the case in 2018, but the bands had to pay them.
For this reason, the songs were reduced.
There were also fewer dance moves than in 2018.
That's ok, because the health of the young people should be protected on a 5.5-mile course.
For me, the members of Tachibana SHS put in another great performance and should not be compared with 2018.
That would simply be unfair.

I must say Kyoto tachibana still has a lot of energy even though they're only 500 m towards the end of the parade. Great kids. They were prepared for that 5 plus mile March. Excellent. 😎🌹🌹👏
There was a video from 2018 that showed the band marching and dancing until the very end and did not stop until I guess a parade official told them it was over. They were smiling and waving the entire time although I did observe some looks of relief. They really worked hard for the two free Inn-n-Out burgers that each participant receives!

That's why they are called "Orange Devils". They are high school students. In this Rose Parade, there are various restrictions from the organizers, so they don't show even half of their true ability. It's really a shame. If you can, please search and watch other videos. You'll be really surprised!

「ターンはマリオじゃないと…」「2018のほうが迫力があった…」「選曲が…」悲しい批判をしたくて仕方ない信者さんたちが溢れかえっておりますが…何故比較する必要があるのか？最高の2012、最高の2018、最高の2025じゃ駄目なの？
「最高レベルの奏力」「コンパクトに保たれた隊列」「アメリカのオーディエンスを意識した選曲」「最高のSmile」そして「圧倒的体力」
ただただ素晴らしいパレード。
お疲れ様でした。
同感。主催者側のルール変更、著作権の問題などいろいろ弊害があり大変だったと思う。これらを知らない者達が批判するんですよ。残念です。
今後の対策として吹奏楽部の広報がこれらの情報を最初に発信する必要があると思います。
それにしても、渡航費が高すぎる。クラウドファンディングしても追いつかないだなんて。日本国全体が頑張らなければ、第4回目は無いだろう。

単に昔と比べて批判的コメしてる老害よりずっと素敵ですよ。
批判する人はじゃあ何すれば納得するの？だったら自分達やってみれば？って思います。毎年生徒さん入れ替わるのにずっと凄さを維持するのはすごいですよ。それにローズパレードは1度出たら出場できない事になってます。橘は３回も出場です。これは異例な事だそうです。頑張ってる高校生達にアンチって幼いですね。
パフォーマンスの難度をかなり上げてきているのが素人でも分かりました。
そしてそれをキチンとこなしている事も。
どちらかと言えば、統一性や完成度に於いて初回出場時に似たものを感じました。
それにしても10km近くの行程距離を約2時間もやり切るこの練度の高さよ、、、本当に大したものです。
本当、凄いですよね！外国人の方々の称賛に、日本にいる自分らまで、どや顔になります（笑）誇らしい

I just did my Kyoto Tachibana bucket list vacation. I saw Parade, Disneyland and Bandfest. They were also in the same hotel and they were always polite and smiled constantly!

Kyoto Tachbana was relatively unknown before the Rose Parade in 2018, but has now become world-famous . A few short years, plus the Internet, have made tham a household name in the music business...
This is not true. The KT band was very well known for decades in Japan and other countries long before the 2018 Rose Parade. Just because they were not known in the US, does not mean they did not already have a large fan base. They were already in TV shows and an anime in Japan before 2018. They also made a huge impression when they were in the 2012 Rose Parade.
@@mezacharia You are correct. I lived in Japan in my Navy days, from Mid 92 till mid 98. They are indeed very well known. Kids who want to be in the band, their families move to Kyoto in hopes of being selected for that band. I have had the privilege of seeing them perform at their school.
@@mezacharia Yes, the fact that they were in the 2012 Rose Parade kinda means they were internationally recognized at that time, which refutes the original comment. But I'm sure it was meant to be complementary.

曲の数に不満を言っている人がいるけど、ローズパレード主催者に文句を言うべき。
選曲は規定を守り、吹奏楽部でよく考えて選んだ訳で、理由も知らず安易に残念とか過去と比べるなんて失礼。
純粋に、日々練習してきた部員や、ローズパレードに日本代表で出演できたことを賞賛すべき。
おかしいなと思ってました。Singのステップも制限かかってそう。京都橘の全開パワーに恐れをなしたな。

橘ファンの1人として、2018の方が良いと言っただけ。これから、もっと 橘には上を目指して欲しいから。褒めるだけじゃためなんだよ。どれだけ、厳しい練習してきたのかも、言われなくても分かりますよ。他校よりもパフォーマンスも良いし。
That is sad. If KT can play 20 songs, they should be allowed! I am thinking it was other bands in 2018 who complained to the Rose Parade committee that KT was making them look bad. It's not a competition! If you only play ONE song as many American bands do, that's your decision! What's next, restrict the dancing and waving? But even in Japan, KT has has restrictions placed on them because other bands complained. As a couple of examples, they are no longer allowed to toss flags in the air (they did at the Rose Festival because it's not a Japanese competition). Also, they are no longer allowed stationary percussion such as drum kits and timpani drums. All this because OTHER bands complained, yet KT continues to win GOLD. To me, if other bands do not like it, then improve YOUR band, not restrict the leader.

今年から、ローズパレード演奏基準のほかも変更されたみたいですね。
ディズニー演奏も流れ演奏に変更しているためか、今回は「Bandfest 2025」が、最も際立つ演奏・パフォーマンス・フォーメイションになりましたね。

YES! Especially since KT apparently did not get to do this stationary Sing! Sing! Sing! at the Disney Parade. Was Disney pressed for time? Anyway, the way they positioned themselves looks like they actually prepared for it.
@ yes agree. Knowing KT and coupled with their vast experience in performing, i agree that they must have prepared for such eventuality. A happy new year indeed for those folks who witnessed their live performance.

9:21こんな間近でシングとか羨ましすぎる！
5分30秒過ぎあたりからパレードが止まったまま目の前でパフォーマンスを見られたこの観客はラッキーですね。それもsingsingsingを。一瞬で駆け抜けてしまうエリアもあるのに。パレードが動き出したら演奏が途切れることなくそのままパレード復帰ってのが前回と違うかな。素晴らしい対応力。
プロのビッグバンドに匹敵する素晴らしい演奏を、飛び跳ねて踊りながら行っているのに、演奏が揃っていて極めて美音である。それ以上に、観客とのふれあいは胸を熱くする感動的で言葉では表現出来ない程の何かが有る素晴らしいものである。くったく無く、観客をもてなし触れ合う姿は、何か凄いものを見た気がした。彼女たちはいろいろな場面で「平和の使者」になれると思うのである。京都橘高校の教育の勝利が有ると思う。世界の模範になって欲しい。
