    VSTAR is a great bike. There are some minor design obstacles but overall it is great. I own one myself.

    • @jetstream454
      @jetstream454 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What would be some of those obstacles for you?
      Personally I'm not a fan of using the tail/brake lamp as a licence plate light. That's probably the biggest one for me, albeit simply a design flaw that Yamaha had chosen to use across multiple cruiser bikes.

      @@jetstream454 hey Jamie valves have to be checked every 4000 miles. Also exhaust pipes must be removed to change oil filter. ( Oil relocation kits are available). Overall great bikes but these are the 2 I can think of right off my head

  • @spanky522
    @spanky522 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I was looking at V-stars but decided against it because of the fact you have to remove part of the exhaust system to change the oil filter (stupid design) And it seems that Yamaha didn't change it in the later models. What were they thinking? There is a oil filter re-locator kit for about $250, and the dealer wouldn't include it in the price, so I went with an 1100 Shadow instead.

    • @94SexyStang
      @94SexyStang 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, but if you get a high mileage oil filter, you just change it every OTHER oil change......my Suzuki actually CALLS for changing the filter every 2 oil changes. So you're really only taking the exhaust off every 6-8000 miles....just makes sure those Bolts aren't rusted.

    Nice bike. Non-ethanol fuel! You hit the nail on the head as fuel with ethanol if left to sit too long will leave nasty green deposits in your carburetor. Another reason to run premium fuel in your bikes. Sean ! What’s with the bare arms and no gloves buddy !!?? You know better !
