    I have bought the same kit as you, it has been lying inside the box for two months.
    Sincerely I wasn't in the mood to read that manual (although it is quite small compared to other VFD/driver documentation...) and your video made it easier for me to start playing around with it.
    Thank you, man.
    See that you also like some yerba mate (or chimarrão as we call it here where I live in Brazil) =)

    Perfect Thanks, your videos are a big help for me and I love them a lot. I have the same servo controller from HLTNC 1 KW but I despair about the setup for a spindle configuration on my cnc interface 4 axis card AKZ250 from Leafboy. Unfortunately I have a 0-10v signal, only a 0-5v signal.

    • @GBWM_CNC
      @GBWM_CNC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You have 0-5V signal and your CNC controller has 0-10v? I've never done this but there are current to voltage converters and vice versa. Maybe you could convert 0-5V signal to 0-20mA current signal and then the 0-20mA current signal to 0-10V voltage signal. It's kind of overcomplicated but it might work and those converters are quite cheap. I've never used such though. In the other direction if you had 0-10 and your cnc controller had 0-5v then an voltage divider circuit would work.

      @@GBWM_CNCThank you very much, that's an answer that I can start with.
      Unfortunately I only have a 0-5V signal.
      The voltage divider circuit could work, since I have a PWM signal on the card, but unfortunately only 0-5V.
      It would also be interesting to know which pins I have to use to control start stop, direction change and speed via my AKZ250

      @@LumberJackyJackyl I'm really glad you like these videos! :) Btw you can check if your CNC controller doesn't have a jumper or something like that to change 0-5V output to 0-10V output. I think the AXBB-E CNC controller I use on my CNC milling machine has it so it can output 0-10V or 0-5V depending on what your VFD / servodriver needs to be feed with.

    I wanted to ask one thing, for Z axis do we need servo with brake model? I have 1.3kw Leadshine 1500rpm 8.34N one for 2 x and y axes, for Z axis is currently the nema 34 closed loop stepper motor, so i was planning to change it with the servo too.. Do i need the brake model of 1.3kw servo or the non brake version would also work? I dont know how much detent torque it provides and all

    • @GBWM_CNC
      @GBWM_CNC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You dont need a brake for z axis but it depends on the weight. Sometimes you need a brake of preferably a counterweight. All depends on your needs. If the system is perfectly aligned - sometimes there is almost no friction in the linear bearings and ballscrew and everything could fall if there is no counterweight.

    Is there any way to make the mach3 stop when the servo misses step? or any configuration or the driver manages everything on its own?

    • @GBWM_CNC
      @GBWM_CNC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The driver takes control of everything - there are no missed steps in such devices. If you put too much load - it will throw out an error and you can set it up so it sends a message to the controller.

    • @LogicSpeaks
      @LogicSpeaks 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GBWM_CNCSo what would be the step to notify the controller? What would be the avenue for the feedback? I'm about to replace my stepper motors with these and I've been wondering what that would be. According to the sellers I ordered these from they said that the motors would just stop if errored out, but that would still mean the machine would be "running" them.

    • @GBWM_CNC
      @GBWM_CNC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@LogicSpeaks The servo driver has digital outputs. If it gets too much load it will put out an alarm (seen on video) and you can get that signal on one of the outputs. And you can attach that output to the CNC digital inputs (similar as a limit switch). I did something like that on my CNC mill - I have similar servos and when those put out an alarm (stop mode) - they notify the CNC controller (AXBB-E was there on the board) about the error. I configured it as an emergency stop signal or something similar - I don't remember exactly. And I wired the signal from all 3 axis to one CNC controller inputs - when any of the servos gets an alarm then the CNC controller goes into stop mode.

    Anyone know if I should worry too much about the type of Power supply for Servos? As long as its 220v in this case it should be fine? Or do I need something more specific that mitigates as much noise as possible?

    • @GBWM_CNC
      @GBWM_CNC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If I remember correctly - the manufacturer says in the manual to put an EMI filter between the power supply wires and the servo driver. It has an tendency to emit huge EMI. During these tests I didn't use an EMI filter and the controller frooze like 2-3 times. I've had exactly the same when I used an VFD for a spindle 3 years ago. Servo drivers and VFDs are similar when it comes to EMI. The USB port of this controller is not prone for EMI at all. The servo will work straight out of the socket but other devices may struggle.
      This is what I've observed - maybe someone can add something in this topic.

    • @LogicSpeaks
      @LogicSpeaks 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GBWM_CNCThats good to know. So I've wondered whether these AC servos should just hook in directly to AC power or if a 220v Power supply would be better to then supply the servo's. Some suggest that PSU supply would regulate it better and have less spikes and more clean continuous power. I'm no electrician but I've heard this before in other areas.
      I'll check out the filters and probably skip the power supply however if its not really necessary.
